...... Shatter was the only Frontlines map I completely liked.........
DivineP,
I can understand your feelings all too well but I think you should let this one go because anything you say is going to be used against you. At this point, I just read it and scroll down to the next post. But I can understand that everybody has a their own picture of what how they want to their FF to be. Yes, you can be like CelestiCer wanted Kaiten back (btw you are a good SAM.....), Stormpeaks with whatever the heck they want or even Aveyond with his all of his demands and these forums was created to voice their opinions about it and we should respect them on their views about this game but in kind, they have to do the same as well. Believe me, even know that this game is fallen off alittle bit, we are fortunate and lucky to even get to 6.4 after all. Most of us didn't even know if we will get to 3.0 during those days.
This live letter was okay, fixed a few thing and made newer glam that I can get but I think the next expansion is going to be the barometer for the next couple of years and we dont have to wait that long to find out.

I see that SE's tactic of radio silence and ignoring feedback worked well. Now people are so uneducated that they forgot that Kaiten was just biggest outlier in the neutering of SAM.
I guess I'm sorry for calling it "Kaiten removal" instead of more descriptive "Kaiten removal which caused Iaijutsu potency changes, and additional unwarranted changes to weaponskills, more specifically increasing potency of basic weaponskills, while nerfing potency of bigger hits, which SAM used to be known for, resulting in overall flattening of SAM's damage output, compared to high burst damage, and low damage segments meant for building resources, which caused the whole class fantasy to break apart overnight, while changing Tenka Goken and Kaeshi: Goken from conal AoE to circular AoE, which changed dynamic positioning in multi-target situations, to just merely standing in the middle of the enemies and spamming 1-2, 1-3, tenka and Kyuten, all the while implementing the hated guaranteed critical hits on 4 abilities, and that was before 6.3 guarateed hit compensation, meaning that for 9 months, SAM was benefitting the least from whole critical hit stat".
Up to you which rolls of the tongue better.
EDIT: Completely forgot to mention the Shinten spam and problem with Kenki utilized only by it, while we still generate same amount as we did with Kaiten, meaning that APM is still the same
I suspect this is the main issue people have with the relic grind. Not the fact it is a currency grind, but that the ONLY currency to grind is tomestones.
I still have Ulan's Note from the Anima quests, and you can see all the different ways to get Crystal Sand. Was every method equally easy/time consuming? No, but you had a choice in what you wanted to collect to trade in.
I can almost guarantee, noone would have as much of an issue if you could get the items via Bi-Colour gemstones, or use up beast tribe currency etc.
Complaints about the removal of Kaiten are legitimate given how boring the job feels without its inclusion.
I suppose they do not really see as much outrage against the idea to warrant that. I can kinda see why Yoshi is doing this, making relics something you can do on the side playing other stuff… but yeah I really wish they at least tied it more into EW stuff and made it more intractable.
Thank fuck, bye.
I dont "want" you to leave the game. But I do "want" to see you go do something more healthy and productive that makes you happy.
And finally actually leave like you Keep SAYING your going to do. Your Threats of Leaving this game for "Better" games has been more tiresome then Y'Shtolas Fakeout Deaths.
Again, IF you are FOR REAL leaving this time and not blowing more stupid hot smoke...I hope you find something more to your liking. I hope FFXVI lives up to the hype you kept putting behind it.
You and your Group of Friends and Knights can hate me all you want, but I wish ya'll nothing but happiness in a more Healthy Form.
Once you are done for the day:Quote:
So congratulations to them. They have made so many bad decisions this expansion that as one of their long term fans that's been mostly subbed for the better part of the last decade, I will be taking an indefinite break after May 23rd. This isn't the outcome I wanted, but it's the outcome they deserve after stacking so many mistakes on top of each other.
Get a bucket.
Fill it with water.
Take bucket into the front yard or a free space.
Stick your hand in the bucket, then pull your hand out.
The hole in the water will tell you how much you will be missed..i.e you wont.
I am sorry you are not having fun, but in all truth, you really need to work on that sense of exaggerated self importance. We have you and your doom / gloom pronouncements on how the game isnt what YOU want it to be..but it still hasnt sunk into that mind of yours that this game isnt all about what you want.
A little humility goes a long way, wouldnt you agree?
Only it isnt sinking. Just the opposite. Odd, innit?Quote:
FFXIV was the one ship they couldn't afford to let sink.
I’m not thrilled about 6.4 but it was honestly just stupid to expect anything more. We know what live letters are and we’ve known what’s coming in 6.4 for over a year now. We MAY get info about 7.0 changes at fanfest (we’ll obviously see 7.0, i mean just what 7.0 will change from 6.X) but it’s more likely we won’t get that sort of info until EU or JP fanfest.
Hate to see it, but this patch looks boring af. I would bet real life money that you could sit this one out and not miss a thing. It's just not exciting; oh sure the trial might stir your Member berries, and the last tier might make you feel like a million bucks with the Greek / Dante references, but honestly no one cares what you think or feel. I'm putting my foot down; 7.0 absolutely must do more mechanically than 6. There is no reason it shouldn't. Come back here in 4 months or so and see the consensus; this game has flopped hard and they don't know what to do.
Oh, I get it, this is someone trying to be as hyperbolic as possible to blend in with the Sky is Falling People. Nice work, you had me fooled! Haha, the unwarranted "no one cares what you think or feel" puts it a little on the try-hard side, but you do a good job blending in otherwise!
Contrary to popular believe, this is an airport and you do need to announce your departure.
I'm mad that relic content is nonexistant, that the glamour is more trash than ever and that the variant dungeon just does the same thing without improving on what they started (basically only light party savage). And that gameplay is at an all time low in PvE (amazing in PvP).
But the doomsaying is just stupid and as usual, shows the complete lack of critical thinking of most people. This game is doing fantastic. What will really tell where they're going is the fanfest and expansion announcements.
We already knew what we are going to get in this LL. Dunno what you expected. We dont get any info about 7.0 content until Fan Fests.
So for me, this patch looks like its going to be a blast. Savage, BLU Savage, Criteon etc will provide me and many others with a lot of fun hours. Many people are happy about IS upgrade (And I will be happy to make money on them). New trial will be basically Hades, which was cool. Zurvan gonna be despair in PF, new Hildy will be crazy as always. Only less happy thing for me is to remove Secure frontline and keeping the Shatter, the literally least PvP oriented map. But what can we do. At least we are gonna get reward for roulette.
Including BLU in this patch makes me little worry tho.
What are we getting in 6.5? So far it rly seems, that we are getting only Alliance raid, Criteon, that Gilded Trial and finishing tome relic. Thats not going to keep us motivated for 6.5 at all. I think 6.5 will the the patch Im going to skip until before the release of new expansion, but right now... 6.4 is looking good.
Food for thought, 7.0 does not arrive until this point next year.
Being disillusioned as to thinking a Liveletter for a patch is going to have any changes to a format and structure for the 6.X series that was already decided and DETAILED over a year ago is foolish. I really fail to understand why people who seemingly have been playing for so long, have somehow failed to realize that things are planned out over a year in advance. By the time X.3 is out, they are knees deep in the next expansion; this time they started immediately after Endwalker. Our comments, complaints and concerns will not effect the following patches, as to address problems in the moment would set them behind schedule. This has always been the case.
They do listen, all the QoL in this patch series is indicative of that as many of the things we've gotten have been long-standing requests for years. The problem is that they are required to plan three to five patches ahead at all times to ensure they keep the content development cycle going and meet deadlines. So to say feedback is ignored is foolish as its taken into account for the far off future, rather than the present and this has always been the case. Its baffling to me that someone can play this game for so long and not pick up on how things are done?
Genuinely. People should have seen the Future of FFXIV PLL in Feb 2022 and realized that Endwalker was going to be a downplayed, transitionary patch cycle (which they more or less said anyway) due to the fact they are, once again, going to release a massive expansion with major changes across the board.
Does it suck? Yes! But to be surprised is utterly ridiculous, foolish even. We know better by now.
As to the OP: They cannot change things in the "near future" as the "near future" for them in-dev is 7.0 and 7.X. By the time we get a patch, they are done with it. They do not care at that point. You can hope for things to change somewhere down the line, but expecting such now is silly.
