Probly his friends and a handful of people on these forums.
Not to say they dont exist or they dont have opinions. But Im also skeptical if these voices are as big as they make it sound.

Thats not me personally, I do think there is more praise for Endwalker then there is Hate, but that doesnt mean anything special to me.
Its just a videogame, and everyone has an opinion.
Better to scream at a Cactus then a Mirror. They are great listeners. Mirrors just repeat what you say and act like its smart.
Because the two sets of videos has 2 different purposes.
The starter guides are a marketing tool aimed at those not already playing the game. It covers simple game basics that a new player will experience.
The JP "House Party Play" (actual translation from the titles) guides are targeted at those who are now players and teach the basics of group combat. They don't cover a lot of the things mentioned in the starter guides, such as quest types and using the game map.
Didn't say you were, but I think its fair to acknowledge that it's not typically the anti-Endwalker people that use argumentum ad populum to pretend like the other side barely exists. Aveyond (nor myself) isn't saying that people who disagree with him are some small minority, he's saying that it's not just a handful of people who don't like what's been happening recently.
Very true, with this I can agree.
I'm not sure about a definite majority but I can easily believe that there is a very large amount of people who dislike Endwalker and are uncomfortable with saying that they do, causing them to be silent on the matter. Disliking Endwalker has been very unpopular in the 'mainstream' for a while now. Only recently have people built up enough will to express their real opinion on Endwalker and look what's happening to them. If they try and make a thread on the forums, they'll have pro-EW people come in and attempt to derail the topic. If they post their pro-zodiark comic on Reddit, it'll get downvoted into oblivion (even though the art itself was amazing) and eventually removed by mods even though it didn't break any rules. Hell, Zepla herself labeled anti-Endwalker people as 'trolls'. With how hellbent the pro-EW community is on silencing any negative opinions, no wonder most anti-EW people are silent. I would be if I didn't care so little about what other people thought of me.
The thing about insinuating either side is that we just don't know. My philosophy on the whole thing is keep everything as your own opinion or that of your close group of like-minded friends and don't make grandiose claims beyond that, either for or against a topic. Unless you can poll a reasonable portion of the playerbase there is no way to make claims about what the playerbase feels about something.
True. I personally believe that the anti-Endwalker community is larger than most think (which isn't a high bar to reach), but at the end of the day we have no way of really knowing, we can just make guesses. And that goes for the pro-EW community as well. With how echo chamber-y most socials are with this expansion, there really hasn't been a chance for a fair (posting a poll on r/ffxiv will most likely lead to a positive result for example as its a positive echo chamber) and anonymous (to prevent fear of harassment in-game from keeping people from participating) poll. Honestly, the only way we'll probably ever get a completely fair and anonymous poll is if SE did it themselves, and I don't think they'd want to open themselves up to a potential negative response.
Honestly this is just as easy as taking a stroll daily at the most popular media sites. And since I'm an extreme loser who partakes in reading up numerous tweets and reddit posts and Tumblr pages and YouTube videos, I've come to the conclusion that there is more praise for EW than hate or distaste.
Now really me saying this doesn't mean much of anything since it's not as if I'm going around gathering data or research but it's mostly the experience I've had so far.
Ah yes, the most popular media sites. Such as Reddit where your posts will get downvoted to hell if you don't fall in line with the echo chamber, and if by some insane chance that your post climbs back out of downvote hell, the mods will just delete your post even if you haven't broken any rules. Or like Twitter and YouTube where you'll get 0 interaction unless you have a pre-existing follower base built, and such people who do have followers have incentives to stay within the realm of 'positivity' as that's the best way to stay on SE's good side and thus get access. (Ever wonder why SE invites Mr Sim- I mean Mr Happy to every in-person event but doesn't invite more honest streamers like Xenos?) The official forums is one of the only places that doesn't act as an echo chamber and doesn't try to instantly shut down dissenting opinions (although some people try and fail, including you in this very thread) so I'm not surprised you haven't found much elsewhere.
(BTW, I thought you didn't care about this thread? Why are you back? Is the thread less pointless than you initially thought?)
Xenos? Ive watched his stream.Quote:
but doesn't invite more honest streamers like Xenos?
Mr Happy more than likely does not want a foul mouthed, acid tongued and aggressive "streamer" anywhere near his feed. Xenos has also been banned previously..recently did a video on the TOS with F bombs thrown around frequently.
Im not surprised he hasnt been invited..maybe when he learns to control his foul language, that may change. His ban on Twitch? Was for excessive and "vulgar" language..which is an understatement since he seems to have the manners of a fishwife.
You do NOT behave that way in Japanese culture.
I can link the video if you like. Ive seen it. And yes he did get banned for..wait for it....his foul mouth and attitude.Quote:
Someone only believes the hype.
They were talking about your frankly ridiculous statement about japanese culture. If they don't take Xenos, it's because he's bad for PR.
No, japanese people aren't particularly more polite, especially in video game fan circles. When Yoshi-P complained about toxicity towards the devs, do you think he was talking about western players? Have you ever heard of 5ch (literally the inspiration for 4chan)?
Here's the thing... I don't think it's a matter of age... I think it's a matter of taste.
I'm just finding these, and I love this lineless art style they're using. Unfortunately, when it comes to taste, there's no right answer.
Also, the videos are mostly using In-Game footage. If they were using the art character most of the time, I'd kinda see the issue? But they barely show up in the videos.
This is just my opinion, and some of your threads I think are quite valid, but for this one I think you're overreacting a bit. Again, just imho.
Some of the kindest, most generous people I know swear like sailors. I think it's quite silly to write off people as 'toxic' based solely on something like swearing.
Well there is swearing at nothing and there is swearing at people. And if you use someone else plattform and they have rules you either follow them or you dont and suffer the consequences.
Anyway I watched two of the new videos and I find them to be okay. The style might not be my taste but that fine. Its imo way less cringe than that Tom Holland Shadowbringer ad.
Kicking, screaming, swearing in a loud voice is VERY MUCH frowned upon behaviour..in private or in public.Quote:

Yes, because this community is soooooo mature and doesn't have ten or more meltdowns and witchhunts when their indentured tempered Lightborn stop worshipping Hydaelyn's feet.
I dunno, you tell me. Why DO people bother with the GCBTW anymore?
Sweeping generalizations are being made because they've no more intelligent refutations.
Or sometimes when they put it right in your face like the Revolutions video where right after the "when light is quenched that another might burn brighter" line they show Meffrid. Then fake you out with Lyse and Y'shtola being the ones facing down Zenos.
I loved how they made those Void flashbacks in the 6.1 trailer seem so important and they just turned out to be the WoL going to Y'shtola Void School. I watch trailers now just to see how they are different and how much they end up trolling us.
