omg.. i want that now...

After an all day crafting session. it was a pain to keep having to stand up to change jobs. we should be able to change with out having to cancel.
I want a way to craft a item with out having to change jobs to make the peace parts, if I have the jobs to make it then just like me make it. back and forth to 4 def jobs to make on armor.
- when undertaking gathering class quests, we should be able to see on the minimap where to go in order to get the item without having to open up the gathering log. Sometimes, the text of the questgiver tell us where to go, but if you logout and pass some time, you can forget where when login again. Since the questgiver tell us where to go, there is no reason for not showing the gathering spots on the map...
- an icon on the nametag showing when someone is free trial. A lot of times, you try to interact with new players and don't receive any answer not knowing if they are limited to chat or not. This could avoid some frustrations and point us who can potentialy receive our invite a friend codes :) also showing who can and cannot be invited to your FC easily. The icon culd be the same as the new player sprout, but with a different color. Maybe blue?
- more unlocks on GC ranks with more mounts, high lv gear and maybe some squadron quests with new dungeons or trials?
EDIT: another thought:
- in the Triple Triad game we should have a score system. As we win against a NPC, it becomes more easily to receive his/her cards as our score goes up against him/her.
This score system could be used as well to give us certain new achievments and new cards as well making all meaningless winnings that we can have now something worth to get in a long run.
Different inventory of 120 slots for furniture, dyes, and materia.
please but for the love of christ start making every new headpiece fit hrothgar and viera.
The hat in my icon is literally the only option, the others disappear in hrothgar (nonzlatan) hair, or else are noticably floating off the scalp.
It cannot be that hard, and these races are not disappearing if the devs dont meet their kickstarter goal, you know your players want the gear they get to fit them please just do it.
I was really hoping 6.1 woulda turned this around but boy golly was I wrong.
Also also make every new hair you add from 6.2 on fit hrothgar. We know from Lyse that all new options will fit viera but I dont wanna wait til the heat death of the universe for hair to fit me and not neuter my ears.
I want skills not on my bar to glow so when I come back after a prune or when they add new skills to lower levels I'm made aware that I am missing skills without having to cross-reference my hotbar to my ability list.
Can we get an auto-stack feature yet? Click on retainer, select auto-stack, that way I don't have to figure out which one has dwarven cotton and which one has alchemical adhesive, etc etc.
nice idea!
When crafting, we could access the itens stored in our rentainers and chocobo bags and get them from there directly like if they are extensions to our regular inventory. In this way, we don't even need to bother to reach rentainers just to get the itens.
Bubble Gum Pop emote where it slaps your face like a big bubble would kupo <3 lol
Guild Wars 2 style crafting materials bank.

The Material Storage section is on the right side.
The Material Storage in GW2 allows for the storage of all types of crafting materials in the game. There is a slot for each individual material, with materials you do not have being grayed out. As a result, you don't need to worry about all those materials taking up space in your bags. You can also craft using materials directly from the bank, you don't have to go there to withdraw them first. You are limited to 250 of each type of material, but that can be increased with an in-app purchase. In GW2 the Material Storage bank is account wide.
In FF14 it could be reproduced with separate sections for each expansion's materials, that is, sections for A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker. I'm not sure FF14's infrastructure would allow for account-wide material storage, in which case, it would have to be per character.
In the Glamour Dresser, let us use dyes directly from our Retainer inventories or Chocobo Saddlebag.
1) Stop playing that stupid sound every time I turn in stuff to my GC.
2) Let me check a box in settings that says "I don't care if I turn in something high quality"
3) Let me also check a box in settings that says "Don't warn me again" when I buy something for a class that isn't mine
FFXIV has a lot of space if you stretch to use it, like using all your characters + a FC for transferring
FFXIV has a lot of 'dodo' space though....
I'd happily cut all my /potential/ storage into smart storage. Like smart crafting bags, tokens, account bound, glamour, etc (all things GW2 has achieved to be honest).
Don't want another chocobo saddle bag as a solution to random tokens or tackle or whatever. I want smarter inventory, especially now. If we were at like 60 inventory slots, yeah maybe lol. But my inventory space is fine, now I need something intelligent that can organize it for me.
Of course it's not as simple as talking about it, these are very complex systems, but while 800 glamour slots is interesting because it's essentially a huge equipment bank.. I'd rather have a glamour log (like WoW, GW2, etc). In some ways, yes we need more slots... but primarily FFXIV's solution is to throw the basic slot at the problem. I'd like something more than just a basic slot at this point. Especially when we get suggested painful suggestions like storing it across the four corners of the world (some exaggeration :p, but definitely inventory juggling and couriering), or on entirely different characters sometimes.. lol.
I feel they could be making some more intelligent and focused systems that make life easier for both us and them, because narrow focused systems tend to have shortcut optimizations that can't be done free form (beyond the massive investment to have their memory function differently, of course).
Just because they can add more to the glamour, it doesn't mean they can do all these other things. It doesn't mean they should do all these other things. 10 years in, I think it's safe to say a lot of this is pretty much locked in. It's pretty clear that the way the inventory system works, it can't allow for all these fancy extras that might work in other games. You can't craft with items outside your inventory. You can't dye with items outside your inventory. You can't glam NPCs outside your inventory, even in your squad room that has a dresser in it. That should say plenty.
GW2 did this. WoW did that. Good for them. Those are different games though. I've seen stuff in other games I might like to see here, but I know it's not happening. I used to play EQ2. That was great for resource storage and they had something working early on and it eventually expanded to cover more items. It's in the last year that they added storage for furniture. But again, they had a better starting point for that.
A quick scan of some of these more recent "qol" changes shows a lot of so-called problems that can easily be solved with some organization. Folks can spend their days dreaming and pleading for this and that or just see how a lot of this stuff isn't really necessary to hold onto. So much is so easy to access. They could be working on other things to improve the game and the UI, but no... some people want more room for clutter.
I'm not trying to placate anyone. I'm trying to get people to think. Be realistic. What do you really need all that crafting stuff handy for? Is it really convenient to hold so much? It seems like more of a hassle as you still have to keep track of it. I know some hoarders and I've talked to them and they don't use much of anything. Maybe it gets listed on the market. I've been playing with just 2 retainers for the past 3 years. I had just 3 months with a third, when I was doing a few too many things at once. Other than that, I manage just fine.
More shapes in the makeup tab at character creation/the aesthetician such as an eyeliner shape for winged liner.
Have the lipstick be brighter in saturation. The reds are terrible when you choose the dark option, it's not a true crimson but more brownish scab-color.
Instanced housing.
Glamour commodore removed and a system like Transmogrification put in place with an appearance log.
Remove retainer inventory and replace with 'inventory bank' & extra tabs for resources, increase stack size to 999, item to make personal and FC chest accessible wherever you are.
Sure you are and it's not a good look.
There's no reason in the world why currency tokens like the Moogle Tomestones or the plethora of "Memories" are inventory items. All of that should have gone into the currency tab. Crafting mats are a similar problem. Then they have the temerity to cry poverty and insist people rent additional retainers when we beg for more inventory slots. Thanks to the useless aetherial (pink) gear general inventory slots are unnecessarily inefficient because it needs to carry all the stat information.Quote:
I'm trying to get people to think. Be realistic.
Square is firmly in the realm of design the problem sell the solution territory and we, the customers, need to hold them accountable for bad behavior.

Maybe a response based on the fact I quoted you quoting someone else- which means in some essence you're needing to respond to more than just me, but to be sure you read- I did note that changing data storage is and I quote "massive investment". I have also in many other posts talked about the challenges other companies had to go through to do it.
You can be realistic that it's hard, and still think it's worth it.
On the point where you rolled your eyes, again might be a general thought you wanted to address everyone at once, but in my post I specifically mentioned smart inventory to which your thought of more clutter to manage.. is frankly not needed to be managed and specifically why I was asking for no more 'dodo' inventory slots. I want smart slots now. If I could pick 75 slots for anything that is another different bag system, like moogle saddle bags.. lol, OR I could pick "all tokens are stored in a smart inventory" you bet your bottom choco feather I'd pick the latter. Sure 75 might 'technically' be more, but the QoL (lack there of) having to juggle and organize and manage everything is worse for me than if it 'just works'.
Don't need to manage my glamour log in say WoW, nor really that much my crafting bank in GW2. Hence smart inventory is the focus here. And I want to hoard, I just don't want to mange it, and yes I don't do this in real life because that's a bad strategy for an organized life, but this is a digital game where I can actually have both worlds (theoretically, obviously not so much in FFXIV, YET). I don't run around killing gods in real life either but it's sure fun in game, a hyperbolic example lol, but more realistic- I don't need FFXIV to be a life simulator on cleaning my closet. Just like in all FF games I usually buy out all the consumable item stock and hardly ever use them. Simply collecting them is fun to me (and if I can avoid spending it, I probably would).
So I'm thinking you were responding in general to people, as to me it felt like I was read past a bit. Since the game is digital I can have the best of both worlds, and it has been done so it's not 'impossible', and I am also aware these systems are very complex and so I don't think snap of the finger "it's easy guyz".
Not sure if it would fit as QoL, but I'd like to have more options for autoattack poses (the one we have when we unsheathe a weapon or right click an enemy).
For example, male roegadyn and hrothgar point their spear diagonally upwards as DRG (similar to the walking animation with the weapon out) as opposed to the usual horizontal, slightly downwards pose of the other races and I'd rather have the former one.
The pose DRKs have at the end of their /bstance emote, which is similar to the Cloud battle stance, would look great as an autoattack pose as well.
Other things such as a Glamor Log (no limit), allowing glamor plates to include haircuts or even hair color would also be greatly appreciated.
Finally, another personal one: make most (if not all) duties voice acted.
Dungeons, some trials and normal raids feel so shallow without voice acting. We often get great characters or lines but we barely have time to realize what they say because there's no voice behind it. I'd also like for them to be consistent with the chat and the voice lines. A boss with voice-over such as the ones in the EW trials tend to have lines in chat or the text at the top of the screen that are not accompanied by sound.
I find it so weird for the characters in Pandaemonium to not have voice in their cutscenes when one of them has a dedicated voice actor.
I just want better filtering in crafting menu / log , if i need to craft lvling gear will change to that job then use MB filter and copy the item name from there into the crafting log but just feels convoluted
When you get the auto message that your armoury chest is full when trying to switch to another class, it will flag which slots are full.
Removal of glamour job restrictions.
Dyable glasses that affect just the glass part and nothing else. Everytime I see Handcock with his prefect dyed red REGULAR GLASSES I feel sligjtly depressed,as i am stuck with the scuffed Pince version...
Linked Market boards. across all servers in data center
Expand the UI customization like hiding the XP bar at max level, etc.
Having it be automatic could be nice! Although I'm one of those weirdos that has kept it on my HUD even though I'm maxed out on everything as I don't layouts to change. lol. But anyhooo, just in case someone out there isn't aware, you can actually hide the XP bar manually by going into the Hud Layout options. Or you can just type /hud "Experience Bar" to toggle it on/off.
And for my latest desire, I want to be able to have the Focus Target bar show only my debuffs.
As it is now, my own debuffs can get bumped off the list when there are too many others. I know you can do this for the main target bar, but I use my focus target bar A LOT as I can fit it in a more convenient spot (can't shrink down the main target bar enough to fit >< ).
Yes please, and thank you!
I'd like weapons poses to be shared among all genders instead of being exclusive to one.
When someone DCs and then comes back you shouldnt lose LB gauge.
Let Machinist's Turret and Queen perform optional AoE damage. It makes no sense why it exclusively focuses on just single target damage.
I want to be able to accept rewards and resend my retainers on ventures from the companion app. I would be absolutely fine if they limited it to just resending out whatever venture you had previously sent them on in-game, but I want to be able to take care of ventures from the app w/o having to log in to the actual game. As long as you had ventures in your inventory, I think this feature would make paying for the premium on the companion app completely worth it. Unless you already can, which I wasn't able to find the capability for that in the app even after subscribing to it.
ETA: I also want a button to accept all rewards and automatically resend the all retainers out all at once on the ventures they had been out on instead of manually having to do them one by one, both ingame and in the companion app.
You can already do this in the HUD customization layout. Just open up HUD Layout from the XIV menu button and click on the EXP bar and then right click it. That's how to do it on PC, anyway. Granted, you have to do this manually instead of a setting where you could just have it auto-hidden at max level.
- Being able to sort my inventory while crafting
Clicking on a crafting/gathering leve in your tracked quest list opens the relevant recipe or gathering location instead of the leve NPC you turn it in at.
Give scholar a mash mode so I can have my old skills back so I can manage dots, bane and manage my pet. I dont care if they nerf it all so the dps and heals output = that of non scholar mash mode. I want to mash buttons for the sake of mashing them and am happy doing it myself. My QOL :P choice despite it being unrealistic.
