Although I agree with most of you about time-sinks not being fun, we have to remember that the information on this isn't even out yet. For all we know, this book could be for something completely different. So don't start jumping to conclusions and criticizing SE for something they haven't done yet.

But I do agree that timesink =/= fun.

Why does everyone think it's AF weapons? I mean first of all the GCs never had to do anything with the Job Quests/AF Gear. Then the main people in each quest have the Job AF weapons on them, that really wouldn't be forging the weapons of the past.

If you ask me it's the imperial weaponry that is shown on the producer's letter. GC seals would make more sense to be imperial weapons than Job AF.

Imperial Weaponry refers to the Magi-tek armor enemy that was added in the GC questlines in patch 1.22.

Even note in the Producer's Letter that Imperial Weaponry (Big emphasis on the "ry") was under the section labeled "Enemies".

It seems everyone mistakes the word Weaponry for Weapon's somehow.

Grand Companies don't have anything to do with this quest. The NPC just wants an item from the companies that they can't get otherwise, that's the extent of it.

We know that AF weapons are coming soon.
We know in past interviews that their intentions were for them to be harder to obtain.
We know that "Relics of the Old" refers to AF gear in the game's lore.
We know that Rowena calls this blueprint of the weapon a relic of the old.

There is more evidence to imply that it is a AF weapon than there isn't. Just takes a little brain power. 2+2=4 kinda stuff.

the difference between those, and what AF weapons will be, is that the luminary tools are more of a "look what i did" type deal, they arent really super special cept to show you did it. sure they have decent stats but i believe hq tools are better.

so the luminary tools are definately justifiable in that sense

Going back and rereading the last producer letter..this caught my eye. -NEW-
Implementation of content for acquiring and upgrading job-exclusive weapons.

Now..the wording in that, could be. That actually obtaining the job-exclusive weapons wont be terribly, terribly difficult. But the 'upgrade' part, bringing the weapons to I suppose a +1 status, is what the book and other things could be related to. So it could be.. that they want to make it so AF is something everyone can reasonably acquire..but if you want to get the absolute most out of it..here's your trial. Happy hunting.

ill make sure to pick it up before my monday runs, and ill let you know how it goes if our server can actualy take the time to get to level 2 for a change

Well if the seals come from level 2 it's not a 100% drop rate. Just beat level 2 Golden Bazaar with the key item, no drop.

They said players can obtain the scroll but it cannot be used to complete the quest.
Did they not raise Hamlet level to 5? I'm assuming that maybe where those seals drop.

We just did Hamlet Defense Lv.2 5 times in Golden Bazaar. Our first 3 runs we got 21-26k points. Our 4th run we got 29.6k points and we got 2 Iron Amal'joks. Our 5th run we broke 30k points and got 2 Darksteel Amal'joks.

My bet is if you can break 35k/40k, you can get the Inferno Seal. We're still trying to figure out the requirements, we only know where 2 of the non-beastmen monsters are. If we can find/kill the 3rd, it would put us over 36k points easy... Which might be the ticket to getting the Inferno Seal.

idk if anyone has footage of 40k point Hamlet Defense on Lv.2, or has evidence if maybe you get 2 Inferno Seals per 40k clears?

Also we got 15 anima for our sub 29k clears, but 30 anima for our 30k+ clears.

EDIT: I think Doctor Mog's LS did 40k on Lv.2 Hamlet in HMill? I assume they got 30 anima and just fragments? That was pre patch though, before the Seals were dat mined.

Surprisingly, it's easy to get 40k+ with all crafting and gathering jobs. I beat level 2 twice this way and both times were around 42k.

I should mention this was before 1.22a when the seals were added.

The drop rate may be low, but it's a little early to call it a 1% drop rate. Also, not even the Darklight is a 1% drop rate and that is pretty rare as well.

Yeah, was kinda kidding. Not sure if the Darksteel Beastcoins are a placeholder for it. We usually get ~8 G5. Sometimes 1-2 Darksteel Beastcoins. Didn't check if we got any Beastcoins on the same run as the Seal drop.

Edit: We did have 2 of our people in the Top 20, but since the Seal dropped from the Chest, I dont think it matters.
