I agree! Hopefully they’ll be dyeable too. I really like this one though.

I certainly wouldn't object to Heirsbane as a glamour option. Bradamante (this being Nael's gunhalberd, for those unaware) would also make a fine glamour.
SE doesn't exactly cave to "petitions," but I'm all for the idea.
Male Roegadyn do kinda get shafted on armor glam, don't they? I'd never stopped to consider it, but I can certainly see why one would want that armor.
Here’s the clip of Yoshida answering my question in the last Q&A. :)

He specifically says that he’s lifting the ban off the Garlean gear in Japanese.
This is greatly pleasing. Thank you for bringing this information forward.
I suppose missing this little tidbit is what I get for disappearing from the game for months on end.
I've never understood Yoshi P.'s unwillingness to give players access to the armor of "bad guys," but it's nice to see he's willing to alter his stance on the styles of particular groups in the event they cease being antagonists. In particular, it's pleasing to know we have the Garlean officer armor to look forward to. With any luck this will eventually lead into acquiring the sets of (or at least similar to) individuals such as Gaius and Regula.
Regular Asahi as well. We've had his clothes for a long time, and he's shown himself to have no redeeming qualities to speak of.
Hm. I always kinda thought that, but I figured I was just imaging it. It's especially evident in the mask.
I would love Garlean sets, even though the military options is not my thing.
However, it would be extra cool if we had unique garlean "casual" sets. Maybe something for us to get to know how their civilian culture was.
Yes, the more the merrier. Hopefully after they had added the military and lab gear. Cause it’s been too many years now.
Took a couple of pics with the Garlean Engineer, Sylla mal Albinus in Azys Lla.

Lalafell Garleans? meh
They do exist. :)
Why not ? There's a named reccuring lalafell fighting for Garlemald in Bozja, Pagaga Voshtein.
Garlemald is the biggest Empire on the planet and we have already seen multiple lalafell conscripts inside Castrums or in battle fields.
I like their aesthetic and weaponry. Could make some nice glamour with a legatus helmet and a garlean gunblade.
Lalafell conscripts are relatively rare because they're not common in areas conquered by Garlemald, but they do show up once in a while. I was doing the 4.2 content this morning on an alt, and during the attack on the Confederacy to try to recapture Yotsuyu, there were a couple of lalafell casters in the mix.
There's only one issue with that, and it's that Gabranth's Legion is very specifically pro-inclusivity in the higher ranks. That's their major appeal, that anyone can be anything as long as they work for the empire, "as advertised" by other Legions. A fact that other legions try to stamp out, or limit. People in this Legion are far more capable of rising through the ranks than anyone in van Baelsar's Legion, who was also somewhat pro-inclusivity. Hence why Pagaga's there; you wouldn't find someone like her that high in other Legions, that's mostly a IVth Legion thing.
But conscripts, even if rare, exist. And a lot of people have gone to Garlemald to become a part of their society, regardless of whether they'd be in the lower castes. Meaning Lalafell in Garlean outfits are perfectly acceptable.
What’s also interesting about Pagaga is that her title is “quo”. Which makes her a centurion, an officer of the Garlean Empire.

Ideally, she’d have worn the centurion gear, but she did not. I reckon it’s due to her being part of an unorthodox legion.

It is pretty much the 4th legion being that kind.
There are many characters that have "quo" in it and wear different sets. Clarricie shares the same as Pagaga but that is probably because they are in the Beastmasters (just how the lesser soldiers wear that as well as a "pyr")
We have Sartauvoir that wears the 2nd tier of Omega raid set which is mostly associated to the mage squad
And so on, still it would be nice seeing straight up new gear for those kinds!
Indeed. They’re the black sheep or black ducks of the empire. Can’t wait to wear it though. :)
And of course this one which I’m very keen on.

It’s interesting how this engineer is wearing the military uniform instead of the lab coat.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FeskXwVa...jpg&name=small
Aulus’s title is also “mal” and yet he wears the coat. This guy doesn’t.
https://www.creativeuncut.com/galler...-mal-asina.jpg
Aulus is mostly seen in a secured fortress, this other guy's out in hostile territory. Maybe he would've armored up if he'd known he was being sent out into the field to fight.
That’s what I thought. Sylla is more of a fighter compared to Aulus it seems.
Then we have Sicinius mal Vellutus, who shares the same rank as these two and he still wears his coat in Bozja.

I think Yoshi-P mentioned in a past Q&A session that they'd look into the armor since the Garleans are no longer enemies.
That said, signed the petition. I'm definitely a fan of making this all happen.
Honestly, I think that the gunblades (or at least Heirsbane, Gauis' weapon) could be done like the Blackbosom Scythes - use them as level 1 glam items for each job that could reasonably use it in animation. It's not a true gunblade, but it's an illusion (and honestly, if I was a Resistance Gunbreaker outside of Bozja, I could see myself glamming my real Gunblade to blend in on infiltration missions) so it wouldn't matter. Then you could use it for Paladin, Gunbreaker, possibly Samurai, and even Red Mage (DRK probably should get the one used by the enemy in the GNB story quests, or perhaps Regula's). Actually, add machinist to the list for Heirsbane - it's still a gun.
I personally am a little against it if implemented with little regard for implications.
Because they took something from Hrothgar cultures and twisted it as an insult. And then used it to oppress others. It's a gigantic insult to Bozjans to carry around those symbols with little regard. Like, I know many people don't care nor like Hrothgar, but still. However, if it had a nice twist, I'd be okay with it. Have the Garleans see them be used by the ones that they were so against. Not just their original makers. And see their reaction. Not out to shame the Garleans for it, but to provide a moment where they can let go of their past prejudices and their symbols of oppression. Like it happened in real life. This may be a fantasy story, but implications are still around for what the writers add and say.
And I know that was retconned in. But the gunblade now carries that sort of meaning, and it really shouldn't be dismissed just because it was added after. Especially now that newer players will be exposed to that part of the lore more than older players were.
:x Probably a bit too political for this thread.
Honestly, do enjoy the Garlean Gunblades. Especially since they're not just sleeker, they look a bit more realistic AND they're using the models that the rest of the franchise had, not just the FF8 models. I only hope people keep in mind a little the meaning they now carry.
Yes, I’ve asked him about it in the last Q&A and he confirmed by specifically saying that he’s lifting the ban off the gear.
Here’s the clip:

Also thanks for signing. :)
But yes I agree with you regarding the gunblades. :)

I really like how polished the gunblade and armour are despite being introduced in 1.0.
Also, they’re adding a new lab coat as reward in the Halloween event, which looks a bit similar to the Garlean one.
