Maybe they would if their game was fun and their devs could keep their hands to themselves. :)

the fancy takeoff animation was datamined a long time ago. logical "How Get?" guesses were Mogstation or tied to irl merch like the statues/artbooks.
It doesn't surprise me much cause I've come to accept SE is just like any game company and they just want money, a lot of people seem to be in denial about it tho.
Why people still defend SE in this lol. I for one, don't care about mounts in the mogstation, as long as they are not something iconic. Random mounts that have no connection with anything? Sure. But when they use a boss in the game tied to specific contents, and you can't get it from those contents, I comfortably say its a terrible choice. It devalues those contents, its the opportunity cost. If you don't have any time investment in the Alexander raid series, Rival Wings or TEA and still want something cool from it you can just buy it. Its one less cool thing that we could potentially achieve in the game. Now the anticipated CC mount is disconnected from the game, just another random mount that everyone can buy and have absolutely no value. What a waste.
There’s literally numerous ways they could’ve implemented it in game. Make it rain, rival wings, etc etc. Apparently it is hard to understand if you think if it weren’t for mogstation we wouldn’t/couldn’t have gotten it. If they weren’t greedy we could’ve gotten it in game to make up for some of the content drought this expansion.
Yea it’s probably the first time I’ve been saddened by a mogshop addition. It could have been placed in Bozja, moogle event, massive Mgp reward, another mega Gil sink mount (they don’t all need to be gold reskin) it just doesn’t feel right it being mogshop
Most companies won't take a failed game and sink nearly the same amount of money and resources into it to try and save it either.
So while I understand your cynical take, this is what they've stated the profits from the cash shop go to. Notice I say profits. The cash shop team have salaries just like anyone else and they need to be paid first. Then after all that is taken into account, the money is earmarked to go towards whatever improvements the Devs want. Such as the server improvements they're working on now to accomodate the influx of players, or as I said earlier, the data center relocation.
If we got this information from say SE I would be much more dubious about it's truthfulness, but we got it from Yoshi P himself. The one person who from the start has done his best to do what they think is good for the players and does not blatantly lie to us or spread misinformation if he knows it to be untrue. He will use vague language if he's not allowed to say something or he'll skirt subjects he's not comfortable with.. but with the cash shop they've always maintained that it's profits were meant to be the direct success to improvement pipeline for FFXIV only.
Considering the amount of skips/mounts/fantasias the community seems to think they sell.. weird they haven't yet eh?
This is something people often forget about microtransactions in general. Games cost prohibitively more than they used to. Companies aren't just going to eat those costs much in the same way grocery stores don't. Instead of raising the store price or sub fee to compensate, they use microtransactions which are entirely optional. Granted, companies like EA take advantage by pay walling practically everything or creating a problem to later sell you the solution. FFXIV hasn't done that. So while I do think Cruise Chaser should have been an Ultimate reward or something just due to his status in the game, I'm not overly miffed about it being Cash Shop. Just indifferent, really.
Now that I think about, there could be a chance they put RW variants of CC outside of mogstation in Endwalker (Blu/Red)
Also I wonder if they can put Brutal Justice with the wing addition on flight mode.
Either way, don't care the reasoning on putting the mount in shop, people will (and probably already bought) buy it and that's the end of it. (In fact I have seen a Japanese tweet of showcasing the transformation from ground to flight mode and it is nice aaaagh).
Personally it is a huge bummer and don't think they'll remove it so... get it or not.
Pretty upsetting to see this in the store. I would rather it at least be a limited time event mount and THEN put it in the cash shop later. I know a lot of people say this kind of stuff, "doesn't matter" but that's the exact attitude that got me to stop playing WoW. I want to earn things in game, it's why I pay a sub, it's not that hard to understand.
I am personally glad it's mogstation. It means I actually have the opportunity to get my mitts on it once I pay for my EW preorder.
Yeah that would piss off even more people.
Way more people buy mounts off mogstation than who complete ultimates. Not to mention all those who have already completed TEA and don't want to do it all over again.
Plus TEA is already out and already has it's drop table set, its no different to A12S in that sense at all, whether its 5 years or... nearly 2 years.
Because this is a greedy company.
Nothing else.
I wonder how people would react when SE doubles the sub fee instead of just offering means to support the company for an mount as reward. I bet nobody would complain bout that!
I mean someone has to pay for the better servers and all the stuff.
Not entirely sure if its true but heard Yoshi P and the rest of the Ffxiv devs have little to no say on what gets added to mogstation. A whole other team in SE is supposedly responsible and if they demand, a new mount, new outfit, new emote, Ffxiv's team just has to provide it. Not to mention they are also contracted with some companies in China and I think Korea as well to provide new mogstation stuff on a regular basis.
Out of all the mounts on the mogstation, why does this one stick to some people so much? I don't get it.
I don't mind that actually. It's good they are making money. SE only lives cause XIV pulled them out of the abyss of mediocracy. SE was almost gone before XIV made it sucessful again and it's no wonder they gave Yoshi P. the reigns for the next game.
I rather pay hundred cashshop mounts to support the company i love instead of seeing it dying again.
Thats all lies.
SE wasn't doing that bad either. Only FF was in danger - it's main franchise yes, but not even close to represent the totallity of the company. Meanwhile FF burned, DQ was doing juuuuuuust fine.
And mediocrity? You might not like them, but both XIII and XV are great RPGs on their own, more than worthy of their name.
Your fanboying is just particulary zealous. The daily dose of yoshida saved this game - for the 19283198301928018301280th time - Pray unfaithful! don't dare to disagree!
It didn't have to be Top100 Feast nor an store mount., it could've been earned from anywhere, some ideas:
- The Twinning rare drop
- Mog Hunt item
- Rival Wings achievement reward
- Savage grind reward
- Ultimate clear reward
- MGP item
This shit is scummy, we're already buying the game, paying our sub monthly and paying for essential videogame services like changing your name or moving servers. It's one thing to sell old event mounts, recolor mounts or non-lore mounts... but selling one of the most anticipated raid boss mounts is terrible.
Square, I hope you aren't going the Blizzard way.
People support microtransactions like if that was what makes their game experience better.
Reminder we been for months now with server problems, actually, we have had server problems since day 1. Housing, inventory, convoluted glamour, instance limitations, server queues, character creation limitations, transfer limitations, etc: All server issues in a way or another. Since day 1.
And people think money from the cash shop somehow flows into the game. LMAO.
The market is there. I don't understand people who get in a huff about SE doing what any other business would do and exploit it.
Also... get a job. Get any job. These things just aren't that expensive. And don't tell me it's principle of the thing - you know what SE hasn't done? Raise subscription costs to be commensurate with inflation.
Not the point. And is indeed a principle, ideological and political stance against microtransactions in general - That the industry is a shit hole of greedy corporates doesn't justify anything.
And they haven't done that not because the inflation, lmao, they would just lose way too many subscriptors if they did - thus not worth it.
The willing blindness, amazing.
Oh well. Guess you don't get to enjoy the mount then. I'll definitely be losing sleep over that one.

You know, the Mogstation is a thing, it exists. They're going to keep releasing new things on it, and some of the highest selling products are mounts.
Are you going to whine about this every couple of months? Or do you think you might have some better avenues to spend your energy?
I couldn't enjoy something i haven't earned IN GAME.
Im willing to support the cash shop when:
-Servers work.
-Housing gets proper servers.
-We get a decent inventory.
-We get a decent glamour system.
Like, when i see the money of the cash shop being put into the game. Which has never happend.
In fact, if anything, along the years SE has released less and less content in ALL parts of the game, ignored long standing issues as if they were "part of the design". Yet people defending them for them to get more money that obviously go into profiteers and not the game? Lmao.
The funnier joke is next month we get a 4-seater mount that is free as part of an event.
Yea, this is totally a cash grab moment.
it exists because demand wants it. Does it ruin the game for you? If so sorry.
Fantasia potion - fine.
Name change, server transfer - ok.
Past seasonal events, cross over stuff that you can't get anymore - alright.
But this? This is dissapointing. And people continue to defend this when we already have to buy the game + pay for monthly subscription? What the heck.
