I don’t even remember what the hairstyle came from before honestly.

Funnily enough, when I asked around about it. A good amount of people don’t remember where they got it.

I don't think people consider it a good hairstyle, because it's not. It's because it's now exclusive & people want it accessible again which I totally get- I don't get why it hasn't been brought back at all since
And the new hairstyle just looks like a mock-up of everything we've gotten so far

I consider it a good hairstyle, I've had it since the first event and still use it occasionally. And I'm sure I'm not the only one or this thread wouldn't exist.
It's pointless for people to ask for it if they don't want to use it and if it would go on Mogstation it would stop being exclusive and there is no point in having it for the sake of "exclusivity".

This "anime emo" hairstyle comes from another Final Fantasy game as far as I know. So it's nice for people who like the original game/character.

Pretty sure they said on the LL today that they decided not to put this on Mogstation, and instead will be making it available in the gold saucer in 5.5.

The wording from live translation was “Something they originally wanted to put on the mogstation is going to be in the gold saucer, tradable for MGP instead (I missed it, something they had talked about previously)”.

MGP is incredibly easy to get. Given the cost of comparable items, the hairstyle (assuming that is actually what they're talking about, rather than the car, or something else entirely) probably won't cost more than 100k at the most. You can easily get that in a day, even if you start from nothing.

Google the easy 80 points for each weeks Fashion Report and enter the Verminion tournament but only play the NPC battle and instantly concede them all so you don't actually have to play Verminion. That's 100-150k a week at almost no effort, add a bit more for mini-jumbo cactpot and let it build up over time.

I almost never enter the GS and still have 7-8m MGP sitting spare just incase.

Even the 200k MGP needed for the car was barely a time sink, especially with a week or two of patience. Getting 80+ points on the fashion report is an easy 60k, daily Mini Cactpot tickets regularly yield 3-10k prizes, 2.5k weekly from minigames, 4k from a minute of easy clicking Air Force One and challenge log bonus from doing it three times in a week. Plus merely being signed up for Triple Triad is going to passively earn a trickle of MGP over time in the form of cards dropped from boss fights, which can be sold back to the card vendor.

I don't dedicate time to earning MGP, but it trickles in gradually. I just intermittently go to sell cards or look at glamours and do whatever daily/weekly activities are there at the time.

Gold saucer sucks and is a complete waste of time. The fact that people aren't even actually playing verminion just proves it. I don't know why SE has been holding off on this hairstyle for so long, as if it's literal gold.

It also adds up since fully new Mog Station stuff is apparently by a separate team, so it seemed odd to me that they'd say they jumped from there to being put in game - but it would definitely make sense if they were talking about this.

Vermilion was definitely a total flop. I think TT and the GATEs draw people though, if nothing else as a way to pass the time spent in q.

They announced in the live letter something everyone has been wanting will be available for purchase at the Gold Saucer in 5.5. People are speculating either the Rainmaker hairstyle or XV event items.

That feels on a different level to the other event items.

If anything, the fact that it's only the card that got added, and nothing else, suggests it's not a sign of other pieces being permanently added to the MGP exchange.

Considering how they handle timed event items and how they shoot up in price (like the garo stuff) which is 100k MGP now
I'd say it would be normal to see them inflate the price a little, would be weird if it was exactly the same price.
In any case, I know a friend of mine is losing their mind over this hair so good for them :D
