FFXIV mounts

I like variety, what's wrong with that? Some mobs are a little out there, but some aren't that far. Like drakes or wyverns would be cool... still kind of meh about eyes being mounts since they fly so spazzy lol

You have to think of FFXIV's image though, and consider the mount in context of the whole rather than simply by itself in isolation. And you have to do this so that it doesnt compromise the art-direction of the entire game. I mean, you could say, for example, that Limsa Lominsa should have giant eye mobs and dragons swimming in the water and behemoths running amok and pikachu just there for no reason, and bulbosaur too, well, you know, because that would add "variety". Right? But eventually it just becomes stupid. And that's the issue people have with all these dumb mounts.

People in here that dont want new mounts think its usseless,
why bother putting in more mounts when we already have chocobo. (and Goobbue)

People in here want content, new gear, areas, new AH, housing, new emotes, we want alot in here.
And yet there's always some jackass saying we dont need more mounts,
but it seems we need more of the above instead.

(No one here is saying we need or want more mounts in next patch, or even in the next coming year.)
Some even said we need cooler event gear, cooler bikines (in other threads) why i ask now?
How is that any diffrent from wanting more mounts someday?
The last mount we got was a reward to players that played pre 2.0...

What in gods name is wrong with that?

And why on earth would anyone want new gear? there's tons of it in the wards,
its like stop asking for AF weapons to go with the new AF gear....

MH, AH, new areas, new content. Things that aren't aesthetics, but fundamentals of a good game. When the game works you can complain about how your mounts aren't cool enough, but you're adorable when you're acting retarded.

i don't see any problem having new mounts, yes chocobo is enough but few more mounts will not hurt anyone.

BUT it it would be stupid if we can ride some bad ass mobs and get our ass kicked by normal mobs, imagine you are riding drake on your lvl 1 class and you get attacked by low lvl mob and your drake run away, that will be silly.

they can adjust that by making mounts other than chocobo more unique, for example: we cannot ride drake unless our current class is lvl 50, while riding drake none from the amaljah will aggro, let it take more damage than chocobo before he run away, or anything like that.

yes it will be pointless to have other mounts and they are all the same as chocobo and the only difference is the appearance, but still if they add more i will not complain because it will not hurt me, goobue will not break your gears if there is one around you >.>

I wouldn't mind actually having horses! I know it's a bit predictable but I like the idea of being kitted out in my shiny armour atop a gallant armoured warhorse! Don't get me wrong I love chocobos and mine with the barding looks awesome but having a mighty steed to ride customise and breed would be awesome :D

Thing is, I never said anything about Pokemon mounts. I was talking about in game mobs, ya know, like I stated in my post? But since you couldn't read that.

And just because you don't like it, doesn't make it stupid or become stupid. Yes 100 mounts would be somewhat unnecessary but adding around 10 different ones, I don't see how that would be stupid. They could stay in the realistic boundaries and lore about mounts, and not make crazy ones. I mean they did have a goobbue in the beginning cutscene of Ul'dah that was soemwhat "tamed".

Personally, I like the idea of additional mounts. Originally I was more for multiple chocobos - and in a way, I still am. I like the idea of non-chocobo mounts. I still, however, think chocobos should have advantages. Not standard chocobos, but bred ones. I think that when you breed chocobos, you should be able to get faster ones. All the "glamour mounts" should be there for laughs and showing off, basically when you're just messing about. Chocobos that are bred by the individual should be marginally faster depending on the quality of your breeding. Perhaps have stamina/speed/boost, like in chocobo racing?

As for non-chocobo options, I like the goobbue because I find it a good laugh when you're being intentionally silly. I don't think we should have any other mounts so large, though! A dodo mount would be nice, and a large moomba could make for an effective mount. Obviously the goats could work, too, although they would have to be slower (I imagine). Drakes would be nice for a flying mount.

Bahamut would be a neat ride. Perhaps a battle with Bahamut... to "tame" him so to speak? If you defeat him, you get him as a mount... like a summoner pet. That'd be cool, imo!

Dunno about the behemoth mount although the bahamut one is a very nice idea. It may be a little too large for the game's dynamics (if at all, give them to only leaders of Free Companies?). Plus, a mount that size would make FFXIV seem like its trying hard to be like TERA... btw, they get a white lion for NA release...

Another idea is to have bikes... things is, the current "conceptual language" of FFXIV right now seems to dictate that it would be a Garlean invention (unless Cid produces one first). Perhaps a relic of the ancient Allagians?

Ultimately, considering the immense (and advanced) firepower that the Garleans have, if I was to suggest a super-rare ultimate unique mount in-game... (since were coinsidering flying mounts as powerful as Bahamut)... it would be to have an airship.

Goobue mount will only remain available to those who got it prior to 2.0 and played pre-2.0/have the special edition game.

Now that moutn is great to get for level 30, but, it's too fricken big. I rather of had a Billy goat or soemthig nas a first step mount.
