Let's say I take your beloved sausage and give you cauliflower, your nemesis. Does complaining that your food has been significantly downgraded -- be it for the betterment of everyone else's food or not -- automatically amount to "a tantrum"?
I've no love for dungeons as they are now, but that seems rather loaded.
My point is: someone will always be unhappy. Actually the example I had in mind revolved around bacon and cauliflower. Nice one.
I fall in the group that actually likes dungeons and I doubt the side content they will come up with will appeal to me but time will tell.
And yes, some people will throw tantrums. Are you new in here?
But nothing is being removed here. Every single dungeon already added to the game is still going to be there for people to play, just as they are currently doing. We will continue to get more dungeons in the future, but the number added at one time will be smaller.
There's no point in allocating a large portion of development resources on content that is underutilized. If enough players were actively making use of level cap dungeons outside of roulette, SE would likely continue to follow the old patterns because they were getting used enough. Since they've announced they're going to focus on developing other content instead, their internal reports are probably showing that few players are using them except for roulette so the content isn't being used enough to warrant more of it being made.
Dang, I missed the more iconic example.
And, no, I'm not saying no tantrums will be thrown. I just don't find it unfair to color all complaints as such.
It's only because people complain (admittedly, among the occasional appreciation thread as well, though the latter is less frequented especially when there's something worth appreciating in game) that we get as much information as we do about what works and what doesn't, what was worth shooting for and what wasn't worth removing to allow for it. They're just as fair a subjective as "Well, I like what we got instead!" If when given proof that their experience, too, can improve as a result of the change, they still argue only around what was lost, then that's a tantrum. But until then, it's just differing hopes for the game's future.
And if we never added a single raid for the entire future of XIV, would raids not have been effectively "removed" from the game (to be clear, I mean how players actually experience the game, not as in that it still technically obscurely exists somewhere, with effectively no rewards)?
You're splitting hairs here. Half the dungeon production was cut out of the game -- removed from its future. Thus, "removed". It's that simple. (Though that word hasn't even been used by anyone actually upset over the loss, so I'm really not sure why you're hung up on it.)
Good point but a wholly different can of worms. Nowadays I just avoid anything older than current expansion dungeons unless I badly need the rewards specifically. Lvl sync feels worse and worse by expansion. 'Twould be nice if they'd figure out a solution to this, other than throwing in more and more rewards to incetivize people running them as is.
Meanwhile I've been doing Leveling Roulette because I'm bored of the Experts (and 50/60/70 doesn't award phantasmagoria). To each their own.
Yeah. As a paladin doing dungeons before getting holy circle now feels bad. Though not as bad as it did back in the day when our only damaging aoe ability was circle of scorn on a cooldown. Total Eclipse was a godsend in SB and now in SHB we have an actual aoe rotation and it's so hard to go back at low levels to one button for aoe.
So on the 5.2 website it is confirmed that they deleted the second dungeon to make way for features nobody asked for like gathering beast tribes...
It was confirmed in a live letter, mate... you made this thread in response to that.
There like 2.5 people who wanted that, that's somebody!
I would trade all dungeons for chance of replaying dat juicy sniffing Chocobo quest, oh yeah. Also, cleaning room simulator build in house and golden RP statuses, aw yeah. Redo all content to circles pls, Im too lazy to run around and actually do something, I don't have time for this, I have a real job, you know.
Greetings. This is a troll post. The OP has no idea how development in this game is carried out and has no proof to back his statements. Please read news and other articles to be better informed. And please be sure not to feed the troll. Thank you, have a nice day
5 signs you're dealing with a troll
They'll try to make you angry. Trolls exist for the sole purpose of upsetting people. ...
They act entitled. Many trolls have an inflated sense of worth. ...
They exaggerate. A lot. ...
They make it personal. ...
They often can't spell.

We now know this is because of FF16 stealing dev time
Maybe they'll add one more dungeon back in Endwalker ...!! ~~~ ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
They are referring to the fact there were 2 dungeons every-other major patch, and 1 dungeon for the remainder, where normally there was always 2.
Now there is actually only 1 dungeon each major patch and that's how it's going to be forever now. I don't think they intend to go back on this because they succeeded in their goal to create a wide variety of dungeons to get in roulettes.
That one dungeon we still get will be related to the main story - the other dungeons were optional sidequest dungeons and those are what have been stopped.
Bring back more dungeons!
Possibly for time to implement more open world content or have public dungeons lol. I would welcome it.
I want my dungeon back or faster patches, having one dungeon for so long on the ex roulett just sucks, also it was nice having something not msq related... you also dont need to adapt them for trusts.... lets us have one nice off story one, or even harder one...
Problem it's not this nor that. They cut content little by little from 3.0 . In 2.x there was 3 per patch. Now it's 1 and I bet even less in 6.x. but what we get in its place? Nothing. They cut deap dungeons and stop doing eureka. I hated eureka but deap dungeons was good. So what we get in place of dungeons that is not afk activity. We don't need more crafting. This is the game that got the biggest amount of crafting content ever. We mid core players (the biggest part of players) need content ad well.
HOLY NECRO, BATMAN!

IDK if its necro its still a current theme... I dont wanna be mean but just look at the old trailers with had like 6 min or more and were stuffed with features, now we have to be glad we still gettin ONE dungeon and itll always be kinda lame is the trust must be able to do it..
I don't really see how Trusts are to blame. Dungeons have been linear corridors since at least Keeper of the Lake back in ARR.
Necro troll is at it again
Well they told us the reason for no deep dungeon in ShB, its because they didn't want it to feel samey as the two previous ones we have so they skipped out on shb and said they would try to add one in EW. And we still have Field (eureka) content in shb its bozja and zadnor. They stopped doing extra dungeons because dungeons were always filler content essentially and they feel like they dont need that filler content anymore. Im sorry to say that not everything will appeal to you and will be aimed towards what you do. Midcore players have been the main ones to get content for so long that i think its ok to give gatherers and crafters something too honestly.
One Dungeon per patch is better
-Better Quality Dungeon
-Better & More Original Gear Drops & Less Recolors of old stuff
-More time and Resources to put into other Content
True but...wait...
We got no original first dungeon set like we got with Stormblood, only trinkets this time in ShB.
And you really want to tell me that the ShB dungeons (expert dungeons) are better quality? Seriously? xD The Heroes Gauntlet was ugly and didn't felt at all like let's say the last dungeon in Stormblood. Didn't felt like it was the final battle for Norvrandt. Or this ugly underwater dungeon where we fight against some Sahagin. So great. Some rocks and some seaweed.
So yeah, it's so much better...not...not at all.
The Grand Cosmos, The Heroes Gauntlet, Paglth'an all have Original sets. Im forgetting about Matoya's Relict's Gear Drops but I guarantee it you it was more then Trinkets. Either a bad choice of words, or just Willfully ignorant.
Thats Called an Opinion, we all have one. I actually liked the Heros Gauntlet, and Anamnesis had some fun Bosses + was when the ShB Boss Music Changed into the Gem it is today. You might need pretty colors or effects all over the place, I just need a fun dungeon. And decent drops help.
I forgot to question that. Thanks lol
Makes no Sense.
I don’t know if I particularly care if we get more than one dungeon per patch, especially since we got an awesome secondary 24+ man raid series in its place.
Matoyas drops dye able Holminster stuff... Anamasis recolored shire.. tbf the ascian and amal'ja set was nice...
