Who else is race changing?

My viera is rdy!

I really had little interest in Viera before, but now that I've been able to play around and make one in the benchmark.. I'm pretty sold on a fantasia.

To add to this you can also get a short tail by using Elktail/Elkhorn/Elklord/Elkliege Slops from the Wolf Mark vendor.

Dunno, I've become quite attached to my character.
Is it just me tho or don't the Viera look like they have a bit more weight to them?
If anything I might change because of that, I think that the Au Ra are a bit too skinny.
I wish that we had more options for different body types.

I've been an Au Ra since they came out, but I absolutely plan on changing to Viera for Shadowbringers. Playing around with the benchmark cemented my desire to go Viera.

You don't buy glamours separately - you get the gear off the marketboard. (The Lv1 gear that only exists for glamouring purposes will also get referred to as glamours.)

The viera faces are truly gorgeous and very high quality and I'm quite tempted but... I've had the same miqote since ARR beta. I'm so attached to her, I don't know if I could change her. It would really feel weird to suddenly change to a whole new person as far as my immersion goes as well. Plus, everyone and their mother is going to be a Viera I bet and it seems most people are using face 1 from what I've seen in the forums which is ofc the face I like soooooooooooo..............................I don't know. :/

Ya I get that, but I think the Viera hype will calm down like it did with Aura back then. Especially once people see 1. they all look the same, I mean, they really do 2. Vieras are not the "small cute waifus" - while I like Viera and even gonna change to one ( I played every race so far and just wanna try it out a bit, to see how it feels) I more then understand why people dont change to one. I personally think they are bit overhyped. Once 5.0 it will be like the movie "the night of the lepus" xD.

I'll have to admit that race changing sounds enticing, but I'm far too attached to Au ra to want it that badly. (Instead I'll just admire my FC mates' Vieras and Hrothgars instead, it'll be pretty entertaining)

I'm so conflicted. I really like my current character, but I also like to try Viera. I suppose I could create an alt, but I really don't want to.

Well, I suppose a racist favors a particular race to the detriment of other races.

Not this time. If there was a little cute male viera coming with ShB, I would change to it. But I'll just save the fantasia and keep my lala boi.

I'm still thinking about it, but I'm too attached to my lala... prob I'll switch too see if I like it and change back if I don't.

I've been a Moon Keeper since the CBTs of 1.0, but I do have a bunch of alts. With the introduction of Viera I'm finally going to mix things up at the race level. I remember back in 2012 when people were theorizing about adding Viera I was so excited about the idea, but quickly gave up on it and was happy with my cat. My current character will exist in name and look on an alt, but my main already has a fantasia waiting.

Just wanted to share this tip to anyone who is considering a change but isn't sure about some character details. A few retainer fantasias are cheaper than a real fantasia and faster than making alts, although you won't be able to test the voices this way. If you race change your retainer first, you can summon it in many different areas to see what the skin color and other features look like in different lighting. You can also try on your glamours.

I was going to because I have been wanting to be a Viera since they were first mentioned waaaaaaay back when they did the player base poll after 1.0 ended, you know, when the game was on the edge of extinction and all they kept saying over and over was that they were going to let player feedback rebuild and continue to shape the game... LoL Yeah, that lasted till the game became a success... Anyway, I'm too disappointed to race change now...

The Viera feet armor, just one more major disappointment to add to the list of FFXIV screw ups! I just don't know why they led us on about it... First we are told back before HW that Viera will never be added unless the feet can be done correctly! Perfect!

Then we get a trailer showing the Viera for the first time and Hallelujah, they are standing on their tiptoes wearing spiked high heels! Awesome! *squee*

Then we get to see Dancers concept art and what is it, a Viera with what? Spiked high heel shoes on... YES!!!

Then comes the actual gameplay video showing them wearing the new armor sets, what do we see, freakin flat ass feet just like every other race! Are you kidding me?!?!

I understand that you can't go back and remake all of the old foot armor in the game, nor should you, no one in Eorzea even knew they existed untill now. But I find it utterly absurd that all of the new foot armor from this point forward is not made to accommodate them! It doesn't bother me they took the easy way out and have no tails, easy explanation, they are covered up by armor. It only mildly irks me that you can't do a work around for the head armor like you did for the Au Ra... But this feet issue is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!! This is a major element that sets them apart and makes them special! I have never liked the feet armor in XIV... 99% of the sets are flat footed and boring! I just knew that was finally going to change with the release of the tall, statuesque Viera... Such a huge let down!

With the millions S-E makes from subs alone, not to mention MogStation sales, extra retainer cost, and a premium companion app fee, yet something as simple as adding a spiked high heeled version of foot armor can't be done for your PAYING players? Funny how FFXIV has 16 million players and S-E can't, but a FREE TO PLAY game like Tera with a player base so small it was just downgraded to ONE server, can and does, with no problems at all! Really? Truly sad, pathetic, and lazy!

I still haven't decided what colour hair I want my Viera to have yet though... .-.

I've been an Elezen since the release of ARR in 2013. Was an Elvaan in ffxi for nearly a decade before that. I LOVE the race. That said, I'm still going to race change. Viera have all the things I dig about the Elezen: Tall lankiness, graceful posture and ears that make them something more than just plain human. All that with much deeper customization options! Elezen will always hold a special place in my heart but I am so darned excited for this!

I wasn't gonna, I had no interest when Viera were announced. I thought they were 'eh'. Just Elezen models with slight alterations.


But then the benchmark came out and I've since saved 8 different options for Viera and I still can't decide what one I want to use. I keep saying "this is it, this is the right one", then I make some tweaks, save that version and repeat until I have too many 'final' options to choose from.

Edit: Snipped the small rant about the feet thing, as another thread has pointed out some very obvious reasons as to why they are the way they are, and I can get behind that 100%.

I'll admit I'm tempted to go Hrothgar. If it had been a race option when I first started playing it would have been my choice, hands down. That said, I'm so attached to my fem Roe. I've come up with so much story in my head for her, I love her emotes, and I do enjoy playing a not overly fem female character. I'll be staying Roe for the time being, but might make a Hrothgar alt and if they ever come out with female Hrothgar I'll have to revisit the decision.

Main - Au Ra, not changing
first alt - femroe changing to Viera
second alt - femroe, not changing
third alt - Au Ra, may change to Hrothgar

I wasn't going to until I got to play with the benchmark, and now I can't wait to Fantasia my main. When I first saw the reveal trailer I thought they looked pretty good, and that maybe I'd Fantasia an alt. But when I started playing with all the customization options and saw how they look in armor sets, I immediately converted. The emote videos that came out after the media tour embargo lifted pretty much solidified that decision. I started as an Elezen, but eventually changed because I really disliked the proportions and animations, and Viera basically take everything I love about Elezen while leaving the things I don't like. I'm over the moon about finally being able to play a tall woman on a race that I actually like and that fits my character.

Definitely race changing! I even changed to elezen to get used to the height difference coming from min height Au Ra. I'm just hoping their run animation is better lol that and lower quality textures are my biggest issues with the Elezen. But I got used to run lol so even if it's similar I won't be too upset.

It will be difficult to me, since I played "human" char since FFXI and more or less repoduce her in XIV, but since I need to be more open to changes (irl stuff) and in game we are going to other shard/universe/whatever I will take the chance (we can save our current aparence and can get back anyway)

Do you think they're going to have a sale on fantasia at launch, or should I buy now?

Already got my name change for it, so all that's left is to wait until the 28th.

I think that the only race that could make me second-guess lalafell is another small race. It's way too good to be small.
