Isn't a new housing area pretty much confirmed? The promo site says that the first stage of the reconstruction of Ishgard will be a new district called The Firmament, which was translated as the Blue Sky District in some other languages.
I think you'd have to check what "Foundation" and "The Pillars" are called in those other languages, because technically they're city districts as well. (Alternately, what the existing housing districts are called relative to the main cities.)
The firmament is an archaic concept of the sky - a solid outer dome upon which the sun, moon and stars are attached. Now used poetically.
Alternately I'll guess that the "Blue Sky" translation might come from the Japanese term - I don't know what that is, but if I remember correctly Heavensward's Japanese title is Azure Skies of Ishgard.
Until we've seen for sure that there will be housing, I don't think it's a good idea to assume it's coming.
Gib Stoneskin back. My saltskin is starting to irritate.
The development team has been pretty tight lipped about the 'farmer' feature that is supposedly coming, so I wonder if the Live Letter will address that? There's nothing on the official Shadowbringers site about it so I wonder if it'll somehow tie into the Ishgard reconstruction effort?
I wonder, maybe it is a community-based zone where anyone is able to garden freely without being tied to a house? Maybe people are able to purchase a set number of these garden plots specifically for gardening, but of course there would be a max capable of being bought. Each garden plot holds 4-8 beds much like the actual housing garden plots each with varient prices. Just a theory.
Edit: To add to this, maybe players that already own a house are unable to buy said plots as they already have the capabilty to use their own plots for gardening. Also as they are so small, there could be up to maybe 1000 varient patches per sectioned off area with maybe a dozen or so sections within the zone?
Everyone ready? Have your expectations set to low, your snacks and drinks, your caffeine of choice to help you get through the I'm falling asleep here parts, a brown paper bag for hypervenilation, and maybe a stress ball? Oh and a bingo card that has "Video didn't start/show properly the first go".
I don't know whether to watch the live letter or take this as the start of my "avoid all spoilers" phase.
Job info is fine, but I don't really want to know anything more about the game itself right now.
I've been eating up those media tour leaks and mmm MMM they so tasty with the grain of salt they gave me.
I'm just hoping they announce the gear DNC will be using so I can clear out my poor inventory.
Also, maybe confirmation on whether or not the beast tribe will be starting at launch or if it will have a slight delay.
I just want to see the job changes. I dont care about the areas or the story, you can keep all of that under wraps until 5.0 Just tell me what is going to happen to my job.
You would think that as it is a physical ranged, it would share the same gear as BRD/MCH, but now that I think bout it, it is a physical based DPS that throws it's weapons instead of projectiles like those BRD and MCH do. Looking at it's overall job aspect, it feels much closer to NIN. I have a feeling(just a theory, don't kill me. XD) that it will share gear with NIN.
I think there could be a good argument for either set, but personally I'm hoping it uses NIN gear as I love a lot of those sets but just can't hang with melee jobs. :(
But yeah, I've been trying to stock up on both sets when I can just in case, and my armoury crate is hating life. ;)
My current preferred Dancer glamour requires it to share gear with Ninja.
I'm ready to be disappointed.
(seriously though, looking at all the Scouting and Aiming gear, I think Scouting has more pieces that fit Dancer overall, hope Yoshida agrees)
Aye. Give us Mystic Knights as a DPS class, uses Twin Swords and shares armor sets with DRG (Since their gear balances physical and magical defenses).
Or a real oddity in the form of a battle healer-esque class that wears it and wields 2H hammers. XD
That one could be interesting too, to be honest lol.
This is the calm before the storm... just wait for all the OH NOOOOOOO! HOW COULD THEY! :P
Well, I never predicted an hour delay because their audio was not ready before broadcast time...
(It was supposed to be a 6:30am start time here)
Shouldn't they test these things in a private stream hours beforehand?
