Absolutely support adding female Hrothgar/Ronso to the game. I love the idea of the race, but the genderlock leaves a sour taste in my mouth, and I would even probably be making a male still if female were an option.
+1 for Lady Lions

Definelty would like to see Female Hrotghar running around or as NPC, especially since they're build after the Ronso.
I absolutely disagree with genderlocking any content. I want male Viera and female Hrothgar!
Give us more tough lady models! Female Hrothgar please c:
I firmly oppose gender-locking in XIV. I believe that player choice should be paramount, and so I feel that both female Hrothgar and male Viera should be made available in the future.
My only character is perfect as male Hume, so I have no horse in this race [no pun intended], but I still am not crazy about gender-locking. One of the first things that 2.0 fixed was remove gender-locking of Galka and Mithra (yes, in my soul, those races will forever called that.)
So I find it odd that they would introduce brand new gender-locking to this game. That being said, if one of the two new races has less of a leg to stand on for gender-locking, it's Hrothgar. It's obviously inspired on Ronzo, and there are female Ronzo in FFX.
Viera have a bit more reason to stay locked, since they have never, ever, been shown as male, even background NPCs.
Regardless, their males are just as rare as Male Miqo'te, yet those cats are still running around. I think they might even be the most populous male race in the playerbase. If lore was ever a reason to gender-lock, it went out the window with the Miqo'te.
Please add female Hrothgar (and male Viera)! Genderlocking isn't cool.
I've only been around for a year, but when hrothgar/ronso got announced I was really disappointed in no female option. I still have a fantasia from completion of the ARR storyline that I was about to dig out when I heard the news, then stuffed it back in my chocobo saddle bag. I really would like to see a female version.
Sorta the same with Viera. Not interested in them on either front, but I know there are those like me that would have been disappointed at the lack of both genders
I got a friend who I'm sure would LOVE to be a female Hrothgar, and I'd love to see more variety in female characters in this game.
Also it'd be awesome to see a Hrothgar in a dress.
I would love to see female Hrothgar (and male Viera) be added someday down the line!
I have so many female roegadyn, let me be a beast-race lady too!!!
I would love the aesthetic of strong, intimidating looking women in the XIV universe tbh!!
Adding my +1!
I would love this!
I support choice and oppose gender-locked races. Female Hrothgar would be a welcome addition.
I want to know how the female Hrothgar would be if they were to be implemented in the game. There is no good reason not to add them.
Strongly agree! I would love to see both female Hrothgar and male Viera in the game and really hope the devs can make it happen. :D
While i wont be doing female hrothgar, i still totally support this too. (for the same reason i want male viera to happen)
+1 for female Hrothgars, obviously. Gender locks are bad idea and both genders work for every race in the game. So please, dear devs, consider adding female Hrothgar and male Viera. Give us a choice, show us how amazing the designs will be. I support female Hrothgar 100% o/
I would very much like to see female Hrothgar! Im unsure what Yoshi means by 'balance' of the races, if each race has a female and male, its moving the balance if they gender lock? On my post for male Viera lore does play a point and I love the lore in ffxiv, but we have swimming/flying cars (soon to be!), Au Ra run around as more then half the population I believe, and the yokai watch I felt personally was really not immersive and was quite comical. I dont think the females need to be sexualized or dolled up, it'd probably be weird and not lore friendly if they had giant breasts as cat/lion beasts. I show support in not gender locking! I would love female Hrothgar even if they come a year later. I understand the team is all very busy and it was a lot to take on two new classes and races. So Thank you for the work you all are doing right now, and continue to do. I hope we can sway the call for genderlocking.
While ideally I want to see both male Viera and female Hrothgar, I would be appeased with female Hrothgar.
My reasoning is thus: Ronsos in X are male and female, if "lore" is going to be the excuse for no male Viera (which are similar to miqo'te lore with males being excessively rare and not venturing from their home lands) the "lore" for Ronsos/Hrothgar have no sort of discrimination against the women of the race. Female Ronsos were pretty awesome in X, especially in Blitzball. It's also pretty sketchy to say making a race takes so much work and then making 2 totally different races, when Viera lore states the males and females are extremely similar and are hard (impossible?) to tell apart while young children, thus the male and female models could've been much more similar than Viera and Hrothgar.
Just my 2 cents; hopefully prod lionesses can roam Eorzea with the rest one day.
Popping in to show my support!!
+1 for lion girls and bunny boys!
I said it in the Viera thread, I'll say it here too: Gender locking was a mistake back when Miqo'te, Roegadyn, and highlanders were gender locked, it's a mistake now. Please create female hrothgar and male viera.
Adding my +1 to remove the gender locks. I would enjoy playing as a female Hrothgar and would likely switch one of my characters to it when, and if we get the option.
Hrothgar are Ronso, and while I could argue that Lore for Hrothgar is likely to shape them with females having a strong place protecting home, this isn't even twisting Ronso lore to suit the game, it's rewriting it completely, so those who argue Lore on the terms of the Male Viera should be arguing for the inclusion of Female Hrothgar into the game.
The Ronso are all about strength and individuality. Honor and Loyalty are big things for them, and they don't even use personal pronouns choosing to speak names rather then I or He/she. They avoid the term my because it's too possessive. I get if we are sticking strictly to tradition the Male Viera staying in the woods even though there is nothing Lore based to keep them there, but I cannot in the lore justify the lack of Female Hrothgar using Ronso lore.
Ronso females fight just as hard as the males to prove themselves. They are probably the most equal in terms of gender because everything they do, they do to ensure the strongest pups are brought about. Heck by the end of FFX-2, it's pretty much decided that all Ronso male or female need to go out and experience Spira for themselves..so under Lore, there should probably be female Hrothgar....
absolutely.
While I'm far too attached to my murderhobo catlady I'd definitely create a fem Hrothgar or two, and I have a friend joining me in the game soon that would jump at the chance to play one.
Im all for it. More customization, more the merrier.
I'd love to see female hrothgar.
Imagine an entire race of "as badass as myrlweb" women.
Honestly, I never liked Ronso in FFX, so adding them to FFXIV under a different name doesn't excite me.
That being said, I am glad we get another race, and for those who are happy with the addition of the Hrothgar.
Still, I feel races should always have a male and a female option for many reasons, and I do hope they add female Hrothgar in the future.
/signed gender-locking is archaic and does not belong in today's mmorpg games.
As I said on the Viera page, as long as the lore for the race is written in a way that allows for the presence of both genders to make sense, I'm totally okay with removing the gender-lock.

There shouldn't be any gender locking in this post-ARR game, we should go forwards rather than backwards.
I sincerely thank the devs for the work they've done, I hope they understand why this is so jarring for many in the community.
+1 For (Real)Cat Girls
Not really planning on changing my race but would like to see more character options and to see both male viera and female hrothgar be available to everyone.
I was originally just excited to play a bunny girl, but now that I've seen some artwork for possible female Hrothgar I really want them as an option! Also gender locks seem silly and I find it odd they're a thing after hearing Yoshi P was so opposed to the original Roegadyn and Miq'ote gender locks.
Showing my support for female Ronso/Hrothgar. It would be SO FUN to be a lady beast!
I agree. Not only would I personally consider buying a fantasia to change to a female Hrothgar, but I believe that genderlocking these two races so that the only new options in this expansion are sexualized bunny girls and strong beast men reinforces harmful and regressive stereotypes about gender. Devs, you are doing great work everywhere else, so please remove the lock to provide options to your playerbase and show you do not support such tropes.
I'm not particularly effected by any of this, but I do think more options is always a better idea. There's no reason to gender lock!
I also want to throw my support in here for the eventual release of male viera and female hrothgar, and express my disappointment in the decision to return to genderlocked races after already having addressed and corrected the issue in the past with adding male miqo'te and female roegadyn and highlanders.
Though I appreciate the effort to try to please two subsets of players at once -- those wanting viera and those wanting a bestial race -- I think this was entirely the wrong way to go about it, and in the end, alienates more people than it pleases.
I also understand that it's too late now for changes at ShB launch, but please reconsider undoing the genderlock at a later date when more development resources may be available. This is something that's extremely important to many of your players, and seemingly at one point in time, was important enough to the dev team to remove once before -- and that's the dev team whose decisions to do so I was super proud of and to which I was happy to pay my sub.
