Seriously what other mmo makes you feel regretful for making an alt like this game does??

still superly hoping this is something to be considered for ShB!!!!!! we...or i...would REEEALLY appreciate this game becoming more alt-friendly!!
more slots in the glamour dresser plus its contents becoming accessible to all characters on a data center would be awesome~ i would totally accept glamour prisms for duplicates in the dresser, or even nothing at all tbqh
Fully agree with the idea. Character locked is the the main reason I don't purchase things in Cash Shop. Account wide is really missing.
Then +1
And this is why I don't expect these rewards to be account-wide when they become available in mog station.
What I'm hoping they would do is let each seasonal reward be character-based so that there is incentive for all characters to do the event. When they become available in the mog station, let any account who has had at least one character who did the event (even if the character no longer exists) have the rewards be unlocked for the entire account for all current and future characters and only those accounts who completely missed out on the event have to buy them, but also account-wide.
that's exactly something i would be totes down with! our accounts could be flagged for, yes, you completed the event, so maybe when they're put on the mog station you can retrieve the pieces on alts through the calamity salvager or one of them duders. ;; if only, huh
New dances added to the game: Popoto Step and Get Fantasy. They're pretty great... but unfortunately not account-wide, which is irritating again. $7.00 for each dance, which adds up if you want to use them on multiple characters.
I would like to say "thanks" to SE for making the Fatter Cat mount account-wide though. I'm highly enjoying that one right now. It's also worth mentioning that the account-wide Aerith minion releases tomorrow as well.
So I guess this means one step back, one step forward.
I didn't realize another post on the same topic was already existing, so I will add my momentum here. Account wide items need to happen. I along with many others seem to be severely disinclined to spend any additional money if the items are not account wide.

SE pls notice us senpai
I would very much like this as well. Buying the same item just for an alt is such a huge waste of money. I would probably by literally every glamour item in the shop if they all ever became account wide.
I've been back to playing GW2 lately, and it's always so refreshing with how they handle shared items on an account. Skins, dyes, currency, costumes, mounts, toys (instruments, dance books, kites, etc) - everything is shared.
GW2 is a B2P game with no subscription fee, and so you'd think it would be more up their alley to NOT share things in order to force more cash shop sales, but that's not the case at all. On the flip side we have XIV with a subscription fee, who seems quite content to not share most cash shop items. :/
They should be all account wide like how mounts are. I like what one mmo played had. Could put all items bought from store into a chest and any other characters on that account had access to them and also had account bank to it. I liked GW2 dye system to it once you got a dye it could be used infinite times.
Finally a good thread, signed up
I'm in ! I precommanded the lorebook II, but I will only get one hat for all my characters. I will not buy a second lorebook just for the hat. And if I change my main character one day, I will not have the hat on it anymore. That feels bad :x
I have the same issue with the artbooks... That's sad.
The simple question I have at the moment is WHY ? I see no interest in making these item non account-wide...
Yes, I am digging on an old thread, but I ordered books few days ago :p
Account wide items(item shop) would be awesome!
If they were either the same price or had an option to buy them for a single character I would welcome this. But I really don’t want to see $30+ outfits even if they are account wide. I just worry they would do like they did with mounts and raise the price without giving a single character option.
I find it so, so strange that they're not giving an option for both. Like how much more work is it to give an option between buying for a single character OR an account-wide one? Why does it have to be one or the other?
Hoping one day that the account wide cash shop items/ glams will be realized by YoshiP and their awesome team...
I was gonna buy street attire because I plan to make an alt on EU as well. But then I realized its bound to 1 character. As much as I like this game, thats a rip off and turns me away from purchasing it.
I'd love an option to purchase something account-wide or single-use, with prices changing accordingly. I only play on one character. The game heavily incentivizes only playing on one character. It's stupid that I'm charged more for an "account wide" feature that I won't even utilize because the alts I have are all level 1 and serve no purpose except to see a wedding on another world.
This may very well be why..and you cant ignore or handwave away what could be a very real problemQuote:
I don't care if there is a data processing issue with doing this
Can we give light to this thread again and try to get SE attention before Dawntrail release, it would be good PR and most likely increase the revenue from the store.
Spread it to Reddit, Steam forums, Twitter/X, Facebook and any other social media maybe even get content creators to speak about it
For me, anyway, there has to be like a premium for it. So things like the Cid outfit or this new one. $18 USD is absurdly too much for an outfit. And what's worse is they aren't account wide. For $18 USD, it better be. And that's the problem. To me, anyway, if I spend any real amount of money on any of this stuff, it has to be account wide. And sure, I've been suckered in and have some things full disclosure. I am a paying customer. And lately I haven't been buying the cash shop items. Because over the years, they just feel less and less worth it. Now I don't play alts. So, them being account wide is rather meaningless, but I still think if any amount of real currency is spent on it, then it should be. World of Warcraft doesn't have this problem. Why do we?
And I know spaghetti code blah blah blah. You know if they put their minds to it, they could fix it. But if it generates another sale to the same person, these greedy people will see it worth it to not be able to fix the problem. I just don't see this as some impossible to solve issue.
100% on making more (if not all) items account wide please. *Really wanna shout out Emotes here*. It's kinda frustrating as a player who's on a low, fixed income to be locked out of a lot of things and not be able to get them account wide without saving for months and months and months, just to account for the Active alts I currently play. I know even having multiple active alts puts me in the minority of the player base, but I'd REALLY love for this to be implemented.
They should add a Mog Redeemer npc that functions like the calamity salvager for store bought items. Say you buy an outfit that outfit becomes available on all characters on that service account from the Mog Redeemer. Then they dont need to make anything account wide and be limited on slot of account wide items. The npc would function in place of that to pick up items you buy that should be account wide.

Plus having things account wide makes you a walking advertisement for the store. "Where did you get that cool outfit/mount?" - "I got it from the store for all my characters" boom, new sales
Instead we run around with no glam or with the default chocobo and those potential sales dont exist. I assume a lot of people do the same as me, wich is to get mogstation items only on their main or at most 2 different DC characters
So yeah, account-wide outfits and emotes would definelty be extremely welcome for those who enjoy replaying the game or just alts in general
The hairstyles that come with certain outfits should definetly be account wide.
Yeah, make it happen.
Agreed, would be nice to have everything from the Online Store Account-wide!
I've recently been playing GW2 again after 9ish years and this is something they do. I absolutely hate their entire monetization model, but making store items account wide just makes sense and it's one of the few things they do get right in that regard.
This game does need to embrace account-wide items more, honestly.
I'm not sure if I commented here years ago or not, but this really should be how the game works. I'd be much more willing to spend money on things in the cash shop if they were account-wide.
same. i've said it many times somewhere or another. if my purchases from the mog station were account-wide, i'd buy nearly everything, unlike right now i've bought VERY little. *very* little. because i know it's not account-wide, and it's just not worth it for people who wanna look at something else every now and then or have other reasons for making alts.
If Mogstation had more account wide items and just items that made sense for the price in general I wouldn't mind spending. +1.
solving the account-wide problem would require a technical overhaul of the back-end system. we've been told in the past that every account has a limit to the number of account wide flags that an account can have. they have to be picky with what they do because then you run out and then we're all hooped.
wishing dawntrail rewrote janky old code to let us have more acct wide stuff - mog station glam, event glam, minions, titles, mounts, achievements, orchestrion rolls, beast tribe reputation, emotes, etc!! publease.
i swear if my seaspnal unlocks and things i bought on mog station were accountwide instead of one char, id have bought everything by now, whereas as it stands im SUPER reluctant because :) i already own it somewhere, why tf do i have to buy it again if i made an alt for some various reason/s
think of the ppl who get stalked and are forced to make a new char so they can be left alone bc someone with your lodestone id can harass you no matter where you move or name change too </3
and ppl who have other reasons!!
Asking $18-$24 for a virtual outfit and not making it account wide is ridiculous.
I agree. And to add to that list, I don't see why physical items (like books and music) are exempted from being account-wide when they used to be. who the heck is going to buy 8 books so that all their characters can have Matoya's hat? (And to further that, Matoya's hat should be wearable by all races.)

Yes please
