The swimsuits had no purpose. They were a used as a reward, but other than useful as a costume, they did not improve FFXIV. My implied point was that there are much bigger issues that they should have been addressing rather than adding useless items.

I'd like to see them add /anon, personal messages to friends on your social list even if they are offline (like they had in FFXI) or finish the Guild Point exchange for GC seals before working on things like swimsuits or goobue mounts.

Yeah, they totally don't have an Event Team to organize things only for Events and other Teams to do other sh*t.
FFXIV Dev Team is divided by many little Teams. Event Team organized the Summer event, so another team will be able to manage other sh*t. It's not that if they put effort on an Event they're gonna stop development on some parts of the game.
