Curious Gorge Gets A Letter
https://i.imgur.com/FsG2Syg.png
Dearest Curious Gorge,
I pray you don't take as long reading this letter as you have deciphering those ancient texts.
Though we meet often, our usual place a delight for me to scurry to, the secluded area much more different from the vast blue of the unending coast, I find myself still wanting to see you any moment I can, needing to be in your warm presence time and time again. Parting is such sweet sorrow, as they say...
In the little time we've come to know each other you easily taught me techniques I thought way beyond my skill level, urged me to harness my inner beast, showed me what it means to be a true warrior, one that protects those they cherish no matter what. But I believe the most important thing you've taught me..is how to love.
Your infectious smile, your ways in the midst of a fight, your amiable demeanor despite having a past of pain...it's indescribable what it does to my heart. When we clashed axes, I was afraid. Not of you or what you'd do, but if I'd lose you, to a beast you tried so hard to control. Yet when I saw you smile again, a renewed glow in your eyes upon seeing your brother, and yourself, freed at last, I knew our fright (get it?) was for the best.
You often told me it was commendable how I was able to master my beast, how it was a result of my bonds. That I feel is partly true...for it was you who kept me going, striving to work for a better future for you.
I hope someday I can prove this undying love to you, in the blistering heat of battle...or in the crisp air of peace.
Stay Gorgeous, Gorge,

To My Favorite Garlean General
Dear-o My Nero,
I have had my (not third) eye on you since we first met in the Praetorium. Your dazzling gold-trimmed armor, shockingly good fighting tactics, and take-charge attitude certainly have not gone unnoticed by me. When we entered the World of Darkness together, I was amazed by your resolve, even when you nearly disintegrated and were almost forever lost to the void. I adore your intense gaze and wonder if you can sense my ardor for your scientific savvy. Seeing your smile gives me fluturinis in my stomach, and when I see you, I am sure my blush is as deep of a red as your Garlean armor. When you wielded your magnificent gunhammer in the Rift, it made me wonder what else you were packing in that armor. Wonder though I do, I know that my passion for you is as broad as your incredible gift for magitek engineering.
Nero, I hope I can be your Steel Reason for love this Valentione’s Day.
With all my affection,

A letter you will never read
Curious Gorge,
I saw it in your eyes, even as I heard the words from your mouth. You love her. No matter what my feelings have been they hold not even a candle to the fire I have seen swirling in the depths of your eyes when you gaze upon her.
It matters not that I have been able to pull you back from the brink, time and time again, she will keep you from it. I know now that I was never able to help you control it. It matters not that we have spent years together, it only took one moment for you to know that she is the one you want to spent your remaining years with.
While my heart breaks knowing that you and I will never be. Those strong arms will never wrap around me in a sweet embrace, our lips never to meet in a soul stealing kiss. I take solace in knowing that our battle is not over, I take comfort in your friendship. And I am truly glad that you will finally be happy and whole.
Forever yours,
Skylar Paige

My heart has not forgotten you.
Aymeric,
I hope you have been well and that Ishgard is flourishing in Halone’s blessing. The reconstruction of Ala Migho and Doma is going better than expected. Kugane is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking with its culture and vistas. It’s been a crazy adventure - from repelling the Garlean forces to liberating the Mad King’s cursed prisoners.
Yet, through every hardship we faced, something felt… off. Every victory became dimmer. Every struggle made me feel more alone in my thoughts, even in company of friends. I became so distracted in the simplest of tasks, even Alphinaud took note and chided me! So I retreated to Yanxia to sort my thoughts. Memories took me back in time. Where I fought along someone with justice and determination in their mind; with loyalty in their heart and soul. When the victory was sweet and mirrored by another. The realization of who I was missing, set my heart afire.
That person is you.
Writing this caused feelings of doubt; and to my chagrin, fear… greater than fighting Nidhogg himself. Yet I choose to show the courage you have shown time and time again. Memories of your chivalry and our time together spurred my determination. Looking back, I didn’t realize then that my heart spoke the words when I offered you to join me for adventure. Reminiscing your pleased surprise warms my heart, and mayhap I misread your ill-hidden blush.
My invitation still stands.
May these words uplift your spirits and heart, and perhaps an Ishgardian delegation could visit Kugane in the near future. I offer my services as a Scion for escort. I want to share the wonders of the Othard and Aldenard with someone that makes my heart soar and a smile blossom upon my lips.
Yours in the Twelves’ blessing,
Hailene Sean’dar.

To the Inspector Extraordinaire
A single piece of paper lays forgotten on the floor of the Bokairo Inn. The paper is crumpled, as if it had been carried around for quite some time. The contents, although somewhat scratched out and smudged, read:
Dearest Hildibrand,
It’s been a long time since last we met, hasn’t it? No doubt you’re off on another one of your cases, solving mysteries, undoubtedly finding your head once more planted in the ground. When first we met, I thought you a fool, albeit an entertaining fool, but a fool none the less. Throughout our journey to solve who the Phantom Thief was, there were moments where you proved me wrong. However, cross-dressing as Miss Arabella and thinking no one would tell the difference certainly didn’t help you-
I can’t pinpoint when exactly it happened, the realization just hit me one day, but I fell for you. I took notice the day the Treaty-Blade blasted you into the far off skies, although I laughed with an exasperated smile on my face, my chest felt tight as though someone was squeezing the life out of me. The day we found you in Coerthas buried in the snow, I swear I had felt no greater joy in all my life. Seeing you again seemed to bring color, color I had no idea was missing, back into my life.
Might I mention how terrifying I find your mother? I’ve faced down primals three times my size and none of them have scared me quite like your mother does. Although I did find it hilarious how she sent you flying.
I long for the day when I see you again; to assist you on whatever case you’re currently on. Till then, I love you I wish you well.
Love Yours Your Friend,
Kynthia

I've returned to this cursed place, not as an adventurer, but as a bride-to-be. Sweet Edda, I ask that you pardon my blindness to your courtship! Your true intentions have made themselves apparent to me. With each step, I tread deeper into the Palace, where all is reddening, reddening with your passion!
Darling, I feel myself falling.
Quote:
Edda, I hope this letter finds you well. My partner discarded the first one.
I'm returning to your side to say that I am receptive of your feelings.
How brilliant you appeared at Tam-Tara Deepcroft, with your bubbly laughter and contagious smile! However, I erroneously believed we'd all arrived to witness your wedding to Avere. Although I fought to protect us from the undead, I've realized my error.
You see
Quote:
Darling, this is the third letter I've attempted to write you.
As an adventurer that is feared and revered, I've been told that many want my head. I interpreted these rumors as a threat, but you, Edda, have since opened my eyes. You took the head of Avere, the man you loved, so that you might grant him happiness. You said I was an inspiration to him; he'd give anything to be like me. I'm saddened your ritual came to an end, for if it hadn't, perhaps with Avere's severed head and my headless body, we could all be wed as one? I was even given the name Avery – one letter's difference from his!
Edda, I was always destined to be yours. You figured this out long before I did, which is why you carried the head of the one you loved, awaiting my arrival.
Without further ado, I ask you a question I'm sure you're dying to hear:
Edda, will you take my head in marriage?

Haurchefant,
People say I have changed.
Stolen from the brackish waters of my home, I was helpless against those who dropped me off at the ends of the earth. My skin hardened, my gaze steeled, and my heart closed. Only when I met you, the snow dripping from our hair as the fire warmed our bones, did I feel a fracture in my strength.
Oh, how I hated you for it.
Your unending waves of kindness, your smile as warm as the hot cocoa you placed in my trembling hands – it all made me incomparably sick. I had never felt this illness before; it brought my knees to my chest as I slept in inns, crying out to the gods as I pleaded for it all to stop. Yet, the only one who could quell this pain was the man who had planted it within me.
The only man who made me weak was the only one who could make me strong once more.
I would have followed you into any storm, without hesitation. I broke my chest open to let you in, Greystone. Our unspoken, unacted affections made me numb to that pain and oh, dearest man, how I loved you for it. I felt indomitable at your side. I am sure that you must have felt the same, or perhaps you cared not, as when you threw yourself before me, you knew how things would end.
People say I have changed, Haurchefant. In your presence, and now in your agonizing absence, I do not say the same. I believe I have never been more the same; truer to myself, you have allowed me to be. A man cloaked in silver, I could smell the sea in your breath.
Everyday, I miss you more.

A Poem for The Aesthetician
https://img2.finalfantasyxiv.com/acc...43b2ab4be1.jpg
To the lovely Jandelaine,
Your visits, although frequent, are never long enough for me to express my feelings for you. I only hope to channel a modicum of your nobility within this poem.
An icon of beauty
Splendor flowers in his wake
To fill the hearts of those
Lacking in aesthetic taste
Upon a battlefield rife with despair
Reside unenlightened masses
Unable to manage their hair
There comes a benevolent muse
Bearing scissors of gold
A scion of elegance
He traipses into the fold
Rosy locks, atop an angelic face
Embroidered with lavender lace
Heretics of fashion beware
Jandelaine comes, posing with flair
For a pittance of 2,000 gil
A saint will enact the Gods' will
Just as he gifted unto me
Eternal beauty (for a small fee)
Revolting appearance now a distant memory
I feel anew, fashion no longer my enemy
I can't believe beauty is only scalp deep
What is Jandelaine's secret
What makes him so unique
Why do thoughts of him hinder my sleep
But now I understand why I yearn for him so
Why I lament to see him go
For I am only a beauty reborn
When Jandelaine walks through my door
Yours truly,
