Tee hee, that implies that before Shake it Off, they considered Dark Knight equal to Paladin and Warrior behind.

I can't do tanks anymore. This is too stressful.

I decided to google translate the Japanese forums today, and they all seem to be saying the same things we are, with similar proposals for changes (they only have less hecklers from other tanks and arguments going on trying to shut them down.)

I also peered over the Healer and DPS forums regarding balance, and over 5 times I saw them refer to all jobs being viable with "Ultimate Bahamut was cleared with a Dark Knight, which is proof anything is viable." This insinuates that everyone, even outside of tanks, understands Dark Knight is an absolutely bottom of the barrel job and it making it into content means everything above it can.

The plight of the Dark Knight is spreading like wildfire, it is forming a reputation far and beyond this small circle of forum Dark Knights. I fear it will get to the point that only Yoshi P and the development team feel the tank balance is still fine, I wonder what happens then?

You're right about tanks just in general are too stressful i've wasted all my energy advocating to people and friends and it's just exhausting I haven't touched my Drk or my alt War toon that I play with my raid group because everything is just so meme worthy now. The new meme is "#drkclearedUCOB" and i'm honestly just tired of it I think i'll just wait it out until there are significant changes where I can enjoy Drk till then i'm just not resubbing as there's other things that occupy my time.

DRK now is a parallel to PLD in 3.x.. so if my calculations are correct we will be overtuned in 5.x and then either pld,war, or the new tank will fall behind. Either that or we are the monks of 14 and just never get touched, ever again... Cant wait for PLUNGE MASTERY!!111!!!11

Okay, that's... really disapointing. The last news before this one was not encouraging but was still ambiguous, now there's no ambiguity.

Well, now we just have to wait and hope...In our darkest hour, in the blackest night...

Maybe we'll become a meme class and we'll got the PLD traitement, but even that is a sad thought.

I don't think there's any precedent of them doing a major job overhaul in between patches. At most minor adjustments here and there, which really isn't enough to "fix" DRK as many would like to see. Though, some potency adjustments and CD reduction on shadow wall at minimum are easy enough to implement and would do a lot to bring DRK up to par with the other tanks (at least). I just don't see them doing any sort of playstyle overhaul, even as much hate as caster brd/mch was it didn't get changed until SB. But there's still some hope, I think, even as nearly game-changing as Shake it Off change was - it was only a slight modification to one ability. One ability change can mean it a lot. (it could also mean diddly-squat, but just trying to be positive :p )

i really starting to belive yoship dont have any idea about they own tanks, looks like some on the dev team report they are ok and he just repeat that on public, i dont belive yoshi a smart guy like hem how revamp the entire game with they choices belive tanks are ok if he look the data himself.

what is they excuse to think DRK is on par to the other 2? DRK dps on grit or what?

It would explain a lot if they thought that maintanks just opt to stay in tankstance.

And yet what seems to be the prevalent attitude is that it's one of the seven deadly sins to even consider that.

I personally use it as a fallback. If I suspect the healers can't keep up, are going for super-pulls in dungeons, or threat is creeping up on me, I'll go to tank stance for a while. But I also won't deny it's more helpful (and satisfying) to tank outside of tankstance.

yeah we are supose to tank in tank stance, but after 2 years and 6 months with DSP stance meta i imagine they cant asume balance anything with that with tank stances being trash at normal-high levels of performance 99,95% of the fight, if they really belive DRK is nice bcs of Grit i guess i have to asume i go to be the worst tank for a entire expansion, sounds exciting.

In the middle tiers, where tanks are more likely to be using tank stance than the top parses, the DPS disparity is even larger.

I'm sure you're just exaggerating.

Tank Stances have always been considered to be the last resort for when things are about to go downhill, as they offer nothing desireable beyond the mitigation.

Tanks who knows how much their DPS can contribute to a fight will always want to avoid their tank stance as much as possible.

Unless they shift their battle and job designs notably, this is here to stay.

tanking without grit or sho requires party's teamwork, if you don't lose aggro in dps stance it's because the whole party manage their aggro, since the middle tier of players pug a lot, stay in grit.....

I play with pug and I don't use Grit/ Defiance except for locking the aggro at the begining.
