Has the Producer stated something official about that!?...

Because Viera fits the desert theme perfectly, Viera are based on rabbits or hares obviously and they can easily be found in the desert, though they can be found everywhere else too!...

It would be a pity if SE didn't introduce them in Stormblood!...

EDIT: Even if it we were getting a new race, unless they've already decided it to be Viera, there's no way we'd get them in time for Stormblood.

Nope, that is a Viera concept art, they made alot of races, the Au Ra one, is the one with the strong looking females with horns. One of those concept arts even has the name Viera on it.

There is a interview of Yoshi-P with Famitsu and he says there that 4.0 will have no new race, the next race might be added in 5.0.

Maybe the Viera was an idea to be the Au'Ra at first (like how Mithra now is named Miqo'te). But they made them into dragons instead.

This is exactly what happened. They likely had core lore and names down while deciding on appearance.

And a Viera inspired look was one of the first and heavily delved into designs besides the lizard-demons we got in the end.

Derp. No new race is quite a disappointment. Even if I didn't end up liking the race, more player diversity is always exciting. I sure do hope they beef the character creator then but they've never said a single thing about that (I don't think. Just fan mumblings, right?) so I won't get my hopes up.

Now I'll just look forward to job reveals then.

Although I wouldn't mind making a little noise to let the dev's know that there's still some demand for a viera race. Hence this thread.

Create an Elezen. Make the ears as short as possible. Put gold saucer bunny ears on the elezen.

You could say the same thing about making Miqo'te and AuRa too...

Step 1: Make a Hyur
Step 2:
AuRa: Either buy the Succubus horns from Gold Saucer or get the Ultima Horns from the FATE
Miqo'te: Buy a Cait Sith plush and get the in-game ears

Done

I'm absolutely devastated about there being no new race. It honestly downgrades the expansion for me.

Me too. It's such a massive kill joy since the Au Ra were such a fun and important addition to what Heavensward offered.

Lack of new race is definitely a bit of a motivation killer. I was sincerely hoping to get a beautiful viera babe as one of my retainers... can't have everything I guess.

People have been telling you all, they said no Viera allowed in Eorzea. When will you see they mean it? And with 5.0 being the Garlean expansion, I highly doubt we'll a new race there either. Much more likely it will just contain a 3rd clan for existing races.

6.0 is the Garlean expansion, not 5.0. >w>
They only said they might add a new race to 5.0, if they felt like it.

Same, specially when we know they won't do much about character customization anyway. Character proportions will still mean nothing when every gear is made to not take proportions into account (only some generic miqo'te proportions).

At the same time I don't think viera will have much support in 2019, I know I won't ask for them.

You can argue about Miqo'te and Au Ra just being humans with different bits on them, but it's not helping your argument at all and is instead helping the person stating that a Viera = Elezen with Gold Saucer rabbit ears :/

XIV races are boring (I'm just thankful Roegadyn are appealing). Miqo'te would be better if they were a little more feral in their appearance and stances and Au Ra would be better if they stuck with the concept art. Sadly, those are would be's, which means that if a Viera is added, it's just another boring race tossed into the boring basket of no variety.

Thank goodness there's no new race for Stormblood, though. Here's hoping for more character customisation options.

Hopefully we'll get a viera race in 5.0. I know I will still be supporting the addition of this race by the time the next expansion comes out.

Viera have been requested since FFxi, a great deal many FF fans have wanted this as an option for well over a decade. While i will stick to my character as is, why SE has yet to permit this makes very little sense.

I think viera would look pretty cool with red mage's rapier and orb in ffxiv.

Just tweak the wolf theme to more of a bunny theme. A Viera with a big fluffy cotton tail would be awesome imho.

I think adding a Viera race is a good idea, I loved Fran in FF XII. Tho in my opinion she was missing the cotton tail which would complete the look.
