Because perception dictates companies will be more willing to give you want you want if you offer what they want (i.e. your money).

Another exclusive item has popped up Butler Chocobo Barding. As we can see here, not only are the CH/KRN servers getting access to the Maid and Butler exlusive items, but they are also recieving an all new barding.

In the mean time, there has still been no sign of the orginal china inspired outfits that we were reportedly going to get across the JP/NA/EU servers.

This whole regional thing is just so vile, it shouldn't matter where we live, everyone should be equal....it's such a gripe I have considering some games don't get localized either. #BRINGDQ10WEST

But yeah, didn't they at least say the China dress was coming ?

I'm still waiting for China Dress... Maybe in 3.4? T_T

This is incorrect. They have had all of our seasonal events (though some had minor alterations to dialog/npc stuff) minus I believe 2 and those items were added to their cash shop. Also the gold saucer does indeed exist in its entirety on the chinese servers.

As was posted just below you by Yurimi, this information is incorrect.

The gold saucer exists and all items that we get as seasonal events, veteran rewards, exlusive items (of which there are no NA or EU exclusive items mind you ), and even 1.0 items are all obtainable either through their Cash Shop or via daily quests.

In short, minus certain details that have been censored or changed about a bit, all items are completely accessable to them, while all of the exlusive items for China and Korea, remain inaccesable to us, minus the panda and magpie minion.

I hate the idea of exclusives all together. The CH/KRN exclusives I can understand though. I believe those two regions have different publishers so SE might not have any control over what they release/might not have the rights to release those exclusives themselves.

I generally get why exclusives exist for the purposes of localization, but the stuff that's being excluded is kind of ridiculous and inoffensive, so yeah I don't know why this is a thing.

I especially want that Chinese dress and butler outfit for my chocobo. :(

My major problem with this whole thread is this.

I don't need them to spend more dev time on glamour. And I like glamour! But there are PLENTY of glamour choices and as more gear is added we'll get even more. There's already exponentially many combinations of glamour.

But we get two dungeons a patch.

How much dev time would it take to localize glamour? The data for it already exists, so I'd think the only complications would be licensing and making it available.

We get two dungeons a patch because they decided to phase one dungeon out to make way for new content like Diadem, Aquapolis and Palace of the Dead. If you've an issue with how Devs are spending their time, consider the fact that these items already exist. Developers have already spent time making them, and they are being given to only a handful of players on one verison of the game.

Come on! Don't fool me this Butler Chocobo Barding is part of Chinese culture, this is 100% the Blue Blood of European. How dare you SE locked it away from our EU/NA players!

Its not really time and money to localize as mucg as time and money to negotiate the rights to the content which through their current agreement allows the Chinese and Korean companies to create this exclusive content and own said content.


That said SE should have had the forsight to see this situation and insisted that they have joint-usage rights of content developed by a 3rd party on their platform. I don't blame YP for this. I blame SE's legal department.

Indeed, I don't blame any of this on YoshiP for sure, in fact my intention is hopefully bring this to his attention since I believe it was YoshiP whom asked us, during a live letter, to provide feedback regarding region exclusive items and our stances on them.

However, there is one thing I would like to point out. The Chinese and Korean companies do not create these items. All of these items are created by the JP Development and Art team, of which only one exists, unlike the various service and localization teams.

The only thing wrong with the thread is, I found out there is a nimbus cloud I'm not flying on everyday

Sorry, you're not going to convince me because I'm not of the opinion that everyone automatically has a right to everything. They choose to license exclusive stuff to one region and I'm confident it's for a business-oriented reason. You choose to play they game, you are subject to the business decisions SE makes. They wouldn't do it if it didn't make them money, and unless they charged for it giving it to you is not going to make them more money either. What I pay for when I play is content: real content, not excess glamour when we already have plenty. And I'd never pay for glamour either so there's that.

Quite the generalization there. Not everyone believes they automatically have the right to everything. For me, I just find it unfair how they can get something nice and elegant while we practically get nothing. Does that mean I feel I automatically have the right to everything? Heavens no, but I can express if something just seems unfair.

People still care about this? Let's be honest even if we got it you wouldn't even use it for very long so I don't see much point in them bringing it over here. Also as someone else said the people handling those versions made them so why do they need to bring it here? They create these things to try get people in the game in those regions just let them have their items and get over it already it's just pixels.

This has been said about a dozen times already but it would seem that it needs to be repeated once more. These items are not created by the companies that allow this game to be played in China and Korea. These items are, in fact, created by the in house development team of which only one exists. There is, to our current knowledge, no developement team outside of the JP team that works on the regional version of this game. Very much this. They showed the development team working on things for the chinese version (behemoth boss in specific) during a tour of their work space at the SE HQ in Japan to the Chinese Media.

There is no developers for the KR or Chinese versions of this game. The same dev staff create all versions. The company that runs this game in China is simply a front company and marketing agent they have absolutely nothing to do with development. I am surprised just how much misinformation there is out there for the Chinese version.

this is incorrect SLIGHTLY. The only 2 1.0 things in the cash shop come in a bundle pack of 4 items, they are the Asuran Armguards (FFXIII promotion) and the 1.0 Goobbue mount. The other 2 items in the bundle are the behemoth barding and the warrior of light helm. Things like the Legacy Chocobo, Legacy Tattoo, Onion helm, hermes sandles, garland goggles, Horn of Dalamud, White Raven Earrings, Dated armor, etc are NOT available in the cash shop.

Other things of interest in their cash shop that people may be interested in.

Glamour versions of the 50 and 60 look specific (not the all job) crafting/gathering sets (must reach the appropriate level of that class to purchase though)
Story and Leveling potions (I know highly contested but its something that some may want)
The Maid and butler set (because the EU promotions are rather.... ridiculous)
A backflip emote (NOT the drg battle/victory stance one! This may be in NA/JP/EU version but I do not have it so maybe not?)

Again I ask that people not simply use "what they heard from someone" as a fact in what is and is not available on those versions. There is a lot of rumors that are incorrect being spread about that are simply wrong.

with some items (not all) from 1.0, but still "exclusive", here's the chinese one: shop, pack you mentioned, there's also every moogle minion on the cash shop, along with the carbuncles,

Interesting to see the Korean shop has far more than the Chinese shop. I wonder if this is due to the poor adoption rate of the game in that market so they need to bring in far more from the cash shop than anywhere else. I will take back this statement of mine as I have mainly only played the JP/NA/EU version as well as the Chinese version and never really looked at the KR shop (though I have followed their promotions as I enjoy seeing differences in player activity and interaction and debate on trying it out). The moogle minions however as well as the carbuncles are not 1.0 things (minions did not exist) and were tied to promotions attached to merchandise. I will state that if you look at my post history I am actually against tying physical merchandise to in game things and would fully support those too being added to our cash shop. :)

I do apologize for my incorrect statement and missunderstanding regarding your post as I was only taking into account the Chinese Mall.

In regards to your added PS, that was more a reference to all people who continue to say many different things about the other regions games as you can see by a quick read through the various threads regarding these topics there is a lot of people who do not play or look at anything in regards to it and take a post made on reddit or here as facts. I am however not afraid to admit I was wrong as I did say I did not take into account the KR shop and thought your post was refrencing strictly the chinese shop (of which I have experience using and not just using random posts I read online about).

I want these items as they are all really cool, I think there shouldn't be any exclusive items per region at all... If other regions get censored then maybe release a version of the item that would pass censorship but be the same item more or less like same design but more covered up if that doesn't work then that region should not get special treatment just because their censorship laws suck. Tough luck to them.

Personally, I find it confusing that Yoshi states how it takes 6 months to design and develop a single glamour, but then locks single glamours behind exclusivity in regions. If it takes a long time, and your development team is as small as you say, it really is in your best interest to have your hard work spread to all regions.

I don't think they do single gears, but that they create many sets at the same time and that Yoshida mean the proccess to create gear from the start to the finished product.
Iif a new idea of gear or a specific gear from a NPC is demanded in the forum, then it need 6 months or longer, because those creations are not even at the start point yet.
