Personally, I'm not thrilled with the way Au Ra were handled. They chose the most bland of all their concept art to go with. When I queue into a dungeon the only way I can tell if my companions are Midlanders, Mi'qote or Au Ra for females is by the tail or lack thereof. At a cursory glance, the three are very hard to distinguish. If they're going to implement a new race for 4.0, let it be radically different. Viera are not. Otherwise, they should just invest more time differentiating the races they've got. If all the races are similar, and on top of that all the people inside of one race are copy-paste (looking at you, Au Ra Females), there's a major problem and it deserves to be addressed.

Honestly, give em Viera. But let's shake things up a little. Enough of the cute and sexy. Let's make them more beastly. More hair all over their bodies to make them more feral. Especially the women. None of this Au Ra stuff, where there is a hint of scales. I would rock a Viera if it looked like a tall, feral rabbit.

SE likes to play safe, so even if we are going to get a Viera, it will not be the Ivalice version, it will not be feral, fierce warrior like. Its going to be small/medium size with hyur feets and look very similiar to the midlander and miqote. Wether we like it or not, Au Ra female is second most played female race after Miqote (latest polls showed this), so if SE looks at the data, I reckon they will see that people want another cute race and make it super kawaii.

As much as I like Viera. The Lore behind the Males and Females are two different things. I would like to see something more animal like. Bangaa, Nu Mou, Ronso and maybe Lilty (tho they are basically plant Lalafell) would make good options. Tho if the do something would be interesting.

How about a race that is literally just a fox? Like an actual, normal fox. 4 legs and everything. And when you play as pld the shield is on the face and sword is in the tail.

How about they actually do more animation work and stop being lazy? When they accomplish this first, we can probably see more room for actual races rather than copy and paste.

That is one of THE worst ideas I've ever read on these forums.

On the matter of the topic at hand, I would rather we get another larger race or another smaller race... and preferrably not the Viera for me. But that's just me.

We already have 3 large build races(Highlander, roegadyn, and male au'ra), 3 Medium/light build ones(midlander, elezen, and miqo'te) but only 1 small build(lalafell). SO while I agree more with expanding current races(like giving build options and muscle tones for all races), this would be the one race I'd approve of.

Judging but the concept arts the AuRa had potential to be at least highlander-ish with dragon/lizard faces, on the males, and a very agressive and lusty look on the females. In the end we got pretty faced Elezen with horns and scaley female Miqo'te. < This is not a rant. The formula worked, after all. AuRa is a pretty popular race atm.

I would love to see a new big race, or at least something like the Hyur in which Highlanders and Midlanders are pretty different despite being the same race.

And if SE focus only on making more cute races instead of something different, then what is the point in making a "new" race (quotations because they'd just copy and paste a Miqo'te or Aura, put some new things on it and call it "new race")?

Lore in other games does not dictate lore in this game.
