Thoughts and prayers with all of Japan for a swift recovery.
I wish all the best for the future of all Japanese people! I have faith in you all and I know you have faith in yourselves! KEEP FIGHTING!

A song from my daughter, to: Japan and all those affected.

Hope you enjoy it! :)
As much as I appreciate the time and effort that everybody puts into the FF series, company or players, during times like these, the safety and care of everybody in Japan trumps any game. I sincerely hope for your wellbeing and that of everybody affected by this disaster. Fare thee well!
Where is the March 22nd followup?!
This is crap. Hook up a generator to those servers and get them back up.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is looking pretty good right now.

No, im not joking.
I love FF but, they're running the game like a bunch of circus clowns.
If SE doesn't get their shit together by the time SWTOR launches, I'm out.
Are you oblivious to everything that happened last week? Hardly anywhere in Japan has 24/7 power, a week without a game is a small price to pay when you think about it.
I live in America.
I'm shallow.
I would not say shallow really it could be described in other words. I mean do you not realize the lives that were lost and the thousands of people who are still without power or water? Not to mention the 10,000+ people who are still missing? That is much more important than a video game. Honestly I say go play that other game we dont need people like you playing FFXIV anyway.
I'll shut up when they issue the followup like they said they would.
Shut up.
Services will resume Friday, March 25th, at 8 PM, JST.
D: this links back to the same old post from a few days ago, but at least we have a definite date of return now!
Deal. :D ...........
Let the shallow person be shallow. Let people with withdrawal symptoms discover they have been addicted. Those who can wait for several weeks while Japan comes out of arguably its greatest crisis since the end of the 2nd World War and following economic depression can prove that they are not addicts to this game - a healthy attitude that this game itself encourages through a number of mechanics.
Tens of thousands of people are believed to have died. The world over, people are paying their respects to the Japanese and doing what they can to help. Sqeenix are being responsible to their society in this way. Those who can show patience in the servers being down can be counted among the well-wishers.
Sorry for the delay in bringing you this, but we have just announced that normal service will resume from 11am (GMT) / 4pm (PST) on the 25th of March. Please refer to the news post for further details.

See you soon in game guys!
They shut down their office ventilation and lightning so we can play. Wow
ya they shutting their stuff down for us. thats so sweet of them poor guys ;; i feel honored <3
Very nice to see the sacrifices they are willing to make in an already such trying time for them. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Japanese people as they deal with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, and that no more catastrophes occur with their nuclear power plants.
Thank you for your sacrfices SE, may you be blessed for them.
I would like to give thanks to the guys over at square enix in Japan. thank you for making this sacrifice in order to bring the servers back online. Looking forward to gaming.
Even in the face of disaster they are willing to sacrifice so we can play, damn I'm impressed!
I just feel bad that they have to do all this and deal with out sh**
Err tsunami earthquake NO POWER! You obviously don't have any clue of what's going out in the real world and only care about yo lil self heh lad?
Also if Y-P had the top chair from the beginning the game would had probably be 100 times better but instead the 1st thing he had to do was fixing the complete mess the other director left behind him before he can really put HIS touch to the game.
First off thank you SE, no one expected this and I think we're all happy with the effort made where we expected none (hey we understand.)
2nd eff that Delita guy, people who don't stay updated with current situations are ignorant. I'm not just biased as a political science major lol. and SWTOR looks awesome, so I can't at least hate on that game.
My thoughts are with you
They did not necessarily shut off their lighting, they more than likely just reduced the brightness of it using dimmer or by turning off every other bank of lights. You might actually be surprised by the level of power savings you can achieve just by dimming your lights by %20.
So don't worry guys, they are not working in total darkness over there to bring the servers back online. There are alot of ways to save power that will have minimal impact on you, especially in a large corporation like that. Think of how much better off the world energy situation would be of all of us reduced our power usage by %11 all the time.
I was quite surprised to find that their servers only account for %11 of their overall power consumption though.
:DWishing everyone in Japan a speedy recovery!!! Playing other games during this time will make us all realize how AWESOME!!!
FF14 really is. Take the time that you need we will be waiting!!!!!
Just because MOST people would like the servers turned back on asap (and i am very happy they will be back on fri.) doesnt mean that they or we as i am one of them, are not sympathetic to what is going on over there.
What is really making me sick to my stomach is the amount of a** kissing posts I am reading. I wish ya'll would stop already before I puke!
