The version I installed on my PC is Europe and other regions, that is what is showing on my account at the mogstation, cause the other one didn't register in my account and I couldn't add it with my ps versions.
I checked Playstation Store on my PS, and it doesn't ask which version you wanna download when it comes to FFXIV launcher. I'm assuming we only have the option to download the North American FFXIV launcher. Which is why everyone is having the problem on PS4.
However, on PC we have the option to download NA, EU, or JP launcher. Etisalat users who have the NA version on PC won't be able to play, but those who have the EU or JP version can play. Thanks for the info gtavaddict.
I haven't been able to see an Etisalat agent about this yet, but after chatting with SE support they suggested (as others have suggested):
1) Delete and reinstall.
2) Port forwarding (they referred me to the portforward.com guides, which also involve setting a static IP to the PS4).
Thus far, neither of these things have helped. The same error pops up as follows:
Unable to complete version check.
[204580][24530][10009][-2143088536]
Also, the only way I'm able to contact SE is via chat (cause I'm overseas), but I do have NA accounts, licenses, etc. that haven't caused any other trouble besides the version check issue. I think I'll call a tech for a visit tomorrow after chatting with SE again.
Now what is the problem PC virgion worked in UAE , just ps4 version in UAE has an issue so it's Etisalat problem or PSN/SE ? Because someone have to pay for us .
Btw I like how all UAE players are now gathering in this forum lol. We should play on the same servers! I wouldnt mind switching
But yeah, I tried again today hoping for a change but still the same stupid message. Lets hope someone gets a reply tomorrow about this so we can find out what will be done...
got the following reply from PSN: /sigh

That error code means that your console is having trouble sending data to us over the internet. Most of the time this is fixed by opening up certain ports on your internet router, but don't worry, it's really easy to do!
It’ll be helpful if you can dig out your internet provider's router user guide, as some routers have slightly different ways of changing these settings.
Just look for instructions on how to change port forwarding in your user manual, or contact your internet service provider for advice.
To make sure that you can get online, make sure that you have the following ports opened:
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 465, 993, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080 and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
Additional ports used for other specific functions/features are:
TCP: 9293 (for Remote Play & Remote Start)
TCP: 1935, 2805~2899, 6667 (for viewing or hosting Live Broadcasting)
TCP: 9309 (for Content Manager Assistant)
UDP: 9293 (for Remote Play & Remote Start)
UDP: 9309 (for Content Manager Assistant)
If you're unsure how to open these ports, you can contact your router supplier or a trusted technician for assistance.
Feel free to drop us a line or give us a call to speak to one of our team if you’re still having problems.
Just made a Kik account. fahnvalis

We have received your request for support. We do apologize for the inconvenience caused. We regret to inform you that the issue with regard to third party application is not our scope of support if you have any issues with the connection, we would suggest to contact our 101 hotline for live troubleshooting.
I thought that would be the case as well.. (>A<) Haha, well that's the spirits! I agree with what the other players said, the companies should be communicating to each other to resolve the issue. I Hope SE does something about it as it affect an entire player-base. /pray
The last hope is Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) ,They give licences for ISP company ,you can write an argument in there website or contact them https://www.tra.gov.ae/en/home.aspx
I'm done with etisalat's bs. Switching to du next week.
Since a lot people here seem to have sent emails during the weekend Im gonna give etisalat 1 more week. Otherwise I'm already looking into how to change to du. They have a page called change to du in their website which is tempting lol. http://www.du.ae/personal/at-home/change-to-du
So I got my first reply from care@etisalat.ae just now. They just asked me for my account info 'in order to better understand and help'. I'll be emailing them back and forth in the next 24 hours. I know I can explain the issue to them perfectly, the question is.. will they actually do what is required of them? Which is either a) take down the firewall that was put up a week ago at EMIX or b) re-routing the path from Etisalat servers to FFXIV NA Data Centre to bypass the firewall at EMIX.
I'll keep everyone posted.
Joining the conversation in this thread aswell, havent been able to log in since Wednesday 25th, contacted Etisalat, contacted Se. They have confirmed alot of people in the 'region' have this problem.
If it is like XeinoLoco mentioned a packet loss, and we need to disable the firewall from etisalat, then best thing is we put pressure on them through the TRA, or directly to one of the directors. After all if Du isnt firewalling this then why are they??
Gd luck to you all, hopefully this problem will be resolved soon and thank you for all the info and effort.
Good Morning all, thought to check out the update before i head to work
Xeino, thanks for the follow up. While i understand the cause that you explained makes perfect sense, my question is why did it happen after Sony Computer Entertainment did the maintenance (link)? Or was it just a coincidence? Or perhaps Sony did some changes to the traceroutes which made etisalat/EMIX go secured?
That's a good question. I was convinced that it was the PSN update that messed everything up but two SE tech support agents told me it was a data packet loss issue because of a firewall/security protocol at EMIX. If it turns out that it's not a firewall then it's probably to do with PSN, but I suggest we assume it's the firewall until proven otherwise.
As for the email conversation with Etisalat.. they haven't got back to me yet but it's only 9:30am.
After checking your link, I remember having issues a few hours BEFORE the PSN maintenance. So there's a good chance it has nothing to do with PSN.
They (care@etisalat) called me a few minutes ago. Theyre gonna write a complaint with all the details I gave them and forward it to their team of Technicians. It'll be 24-48 hours before I receive a reply from the technical team.
SE should talke with our isp ,why no responding from GM !! Ilost a week from my subscription .
I bought this game from UAE so it's allowed .
Thank you very much for all the effort you've done Xeino. I really hope this gets sorted out.
got another reply from PSN middle east stating the same thing, that it's an ISP issue.
Actually, seeing that Du users can connect confirms it. I too experienced the issue before the maintenance.
Just a friendly advice to anyone thinking of changing etisalat to du, du blocks a lot of sites, my sister has it and there a lot of sites she can't access but etisalat has all these sites open, and trust me no apparent reason for du to block them, this is my very first issue ever with etisalat I am so disappointed, but I will never change etisalat for du.
Ive been with etisalat since forever. thanks for mentioning this gtavaddict. Im not sure but might try VPN connections on worst case scenario. However, I have hope that it will be fixed (btw, I opened a ticket with them as well and will be waiting for response), also I'm glad Xeino has raised it up and will look forward to his update.
*UAE warriors of light camping in this thread trying to figure out how to defeat the ISP primal* /cry
Xeino is our Warior on this matter, I hope he will be successful on this, he seems to know what he is talking about, I miss playing the game on ps4' so hopefully it will be fixed soon, I was thinking if we all send complain email to our ISP maybe if they see the number of people with same complain maybe it will make them take an action.
Sent the complaint email, hopefully we will be noticed.
Not sure if this would help but I replied to both PSN's (Middle East & Europe) informing them about our experience thus far and I requested from them to communicate the issue with Etisalat..
I also sent a complaint email to Etisalat.
