No, you could actually make money while working on the relic. I SB nearly all the materia I used for relic, sold what I didn't.

Granted, I've made a little extra money selling dawnborne sands, but not everyone can do that like everyone could go SB if they wanted to.

I am at 5/80 but very much taking it slow this time around to avoid burn out. Currently have 3 Jobs for this new Relic, Blm, Bard and Dk.
Given the stats also for most of these relics, no real reason to rush either.

On a completely unrelated note, why you no longer a lala Whiskey? lol

17/80 I'm mostly just doing roulette's and Alexander when I can. I'm not grinding too hard on it though. Been gathering the mats for the HQ crafted items too. Only need two more materials for Kingcake, and that will be finished. Prices keep dropping on the market board though which is good. Keep on dropping.

On a side note, I have a four day weekend this week. Hopefully I can gather more of those items in that time.

Edit: If you can gather the mats for the HQ yourself, or have a friend that can for you, I would recommend doing that. I nearly have the Kingcake and I've spent hardly any gil on it. Much better getting the items yourself and then having a trusted friend or FC mate who can craft said HQ item, than it is from purchasing from the overpriced MB.

Crafted part is around 10m still and you can't do it all yourself due to specialists.

69/80. I was shooting for 70 today but I was just getting too sleepy to continue. I'll be trying to finish tomorrow, but if not then, I'll do so for sure on Thursday morning.

Hit 51/80 today. Done with Seeds, which means no more Sylphs and A4, which makes me happy.

72/80, so close I can taste it.

This week I've been a bad kitty, really bad kitty.. I'll get spanks instead of my relic D:

33/80 atm should be able to hit 40 on friday which would mean half the journey is already over :D

36/80, taking it nice and slow. Especially considering there is a good wait before 3.2

29/80. I'm taking my time.

This by far is the easiest version of the relic quest ever. The old one was hell. I especially hated waiting for particular fates, that really was boring.

The new one is great. Sure fate grinding again, but now we can do it on any job. I got monk leveled to 60 while grinding fates, and I was planning on doing that anyway.

10 dungeons to do? Yawn, but ok. It was sad to see all the i209 people that can't do like wanderers palace hard still...but oh well, there went like 3-4hrs and all that was done too.

Last step i'm about 1/8 of the way and I have done basically NOTHING intentionally but maybe do a few dailies and roulettes that I would have already done. There is nothing to this new relic. I don't know why people are freaking out. Grinding sucks sure, but no one wants to actually have to go clear some boss that oh no, might be hard, so grind it is! I'm sure if there was some alternative that was just as easy as grinding we would have it. I've yet to hear of a alternative besides just putting the relic on the cash shop to buy (shh, don't give them any ideas! :P ).

My progress thus far:
My Zeta was way harder to obtain than this one. The new grind is a huge slap in my face for the grind i endured previously, and makes me wonder, how nerfed and worthless this grind will be in the future.

Got my Gandiva today such a good feeling. Before relics were added i was hoping i could get Drks relic also but after that grind no way in hell am i doing that step again.

The actual materials aren't very expensive at all. (The most expensive mats would probably be the Dawnborne Aethersands or Pterodactyls, which, on my server anyway, are 30-40k ea if you choose to buy them instead of getting them yourself)

If you know some crafters or see a PF listing for a crafter who'd do it for a small/no commission if you provide materials, the cost can be under 2m easily.

Yea, everyone talking about doing them with 200 weapon then switching at the end.. I'm pretty forgetful so I just ran them all with 170 weapon, it's not like going from 100 levels over geared to 101 levels over geared is going to make a huge difference lol

Seeing as you can only make 3 of the items and it may not even be the end item. The majority of the people in PF are looking to make a profit off you usually they want MB price - 100k to craft items assuming you bring them all the mats.

Word. 400K here just for the leather on Faerie. A server having good prices, sure. And also bust for us on at this time when there's fewer and further between in terms of players.

Orig. relic could be done super easy even if you weren't a crafter, up to Zodiac step. I spent about 120K on mine. This is balls stupid expensive in comparison, even at 2M, and most players are looking at more like multiple tens of.

I have 4 unidentified things... or was that 6?

:'( It's rough, but I'm determined not to give up on this Relic. I gave up on Zodiac, I can't give up on this one. I'm too damn stubborn to give up.

18-19/80 from when I last checked I think, Hated logging everyday to complete a checklist of chores, so I decided to try to farm Alexander instead. Started hating the game after 100 runs of Alexander over the course of a few days, so I went back to my daily routine but hated the game even more so, so I'm just not doing the Anima I guess. Maybe if the Kannagi looked decent I'd bother, but it's bland and looks like a leveling weapon.

Daily roulettes, daily map, Beast Tribe dailies(NEED MY MOUNTS!) and Hunts(when I feel like participating). Not in a rush because still clearing savage without it.

I have the crafting items. So now I'm just collecting the ore, shell, seeds and all that. I'm not gonna run alex though.

49/80. I finally caved and started buying maps. I cannot do all these runs without losing my mind. I got 7 today alone from maps. Going to try and get at least another 10 and then bust out A3/4 in 3 days.

Congratulations on completion! I didn't do much Alexander for mine, but I did perhaps 40 A4s toward the end, and I saw healers take Nisi to me when I was tanking it more than once. I'm not really sure why that became a thing...

I had awful luck with maps! Which ones have you been doing? I only did Wyvernskin so that might have been my issue.

I've only done Wyvern. For some reason Archeo are nearly double the price.... So I won't be touching those yet. My worst day was going through almost 30 maps and like 4m and only getting 2 shells... So I feel you on the luck part.

A4N seems to attract special people in df. Ran it for a few tokens, and the healer brought nisi over to me, even when i i tried to run away.........i am the other healer. Insta death........sigh

On 50/80 right now, not putting too much effort into it other than beasttribes/roulettes thta i can be bothered with on the day/treasure maps.

40/80 right now feels good to hit the top of the hill. Could have been at 46+ already but got lazy the last days though and played alot of other games with friends.
Still not a single alex run just dailys :)

Done! but I get the feeling its a DPS loss vs ThordanEx weap

finished on Thursday, but damn it feels good to have this axe , rawr
