Nah, I quoted right.
I went back and edited that post for easier understanding, hope that helps.
Go on back and take a look again. My bad.
Hehe this troll thread is still going.
/p WHM used Holy during BP! Do not kill mobs for 40s so I can recharge mana with next BP!
/p BP activated! All mobs must remain alive to hit me during BP! Do not kill mob or you will be kicked!
I think people are responding with this attitude because you are upholding an attitude that saving BP for 7s is impossible, but expect healers to adjust to you for 15s. You cannot claim that WHMs in the thread are being unreasonable when you, yourself, are not willing to give an inch. I understand the frustration, especially during levelling when you don't have all your resources available, but at 60, it's not so much of an issue anymore. Suboptimal? Sure, but you're running in a PUG. What do you really expect?
I suppose theoretically for a large enough pack of mobs it could be beneficial to prioritize your DPS if you legitimately don't have the MP to Unleash 3 times due to the diminishing returns on Holy. The break even point on potency would be when the potency lost doing a MP recovery combo + 1 Unleash instead of 3 Unleashes equals the potency the WHM lost swapping to Bliz II so you get 0.8*1.15*(3*100*x-(150+250+100*x))=3*1.1*((0.5*200-50)*(x-5)+200-50+.9*200-50+.8*200-50+.7*200-50+.6*200-50)
In other words for 71 mobs you break even on potency if you started without enough MP for the pull. Where that works out to breaking even on DPS is hard to judge (testing for STR=MND with my level 50 WAR and WHM, casts like Stone get more damage/potency than physical attacks, but I don't know how it works out at level 60 as my healer is only level 56. I would assume the trend continues since physical jobs get auto-attacks in which case we're probably talking over a hundred mobs.)
I've ignored the difference in cast time for Bliz II and Holy for the sake of simplicity, but it's a pain since Spell Speed, Swiftcast, and PoM buff the value of Holy while Skill Speed doesn't buff the value of Unleash. If you want to assume a 2.7 second Holy cast, for example, that means 7.5s is 93% of three Holy casts so it makes little difference.
In other words, it's unimaginable that there is ever a situation that a WHM is optimizing by waiting for you. They should always prioritize themselves.
