Someone skipped their conjurer cutscenes... Cure, Cure II, Cure III, Medica, Medica II, Esuna, Fluid Aura. These are your water spells.

Cures and Medicas are wind, not water. Esuna, Fluid Aura, and Raise are water.
I'm confused as to why people would feel threatened...if you're in a serious static, you /might/ get asked to level an astrologian? Even that though is pushing it because they still aren't good enough to be required. I'm very hard pressed to believe any raid leader would just kick someone out so they could bring in someone else who plays a different class as well, you'd get kicked for a different reason.
Ast are in a weird middleman position atm. Whm and sch still perform better in their respective roles by an amount too large to ignore. So when you are doing progression runs and things are difficult for your group, it would be ideal to have the whm/sch combo as they essentially are the two halves of a whole. Ast on the other hand shines a bit more when content is easier as you can trade less overall healing/emergency CDs for buffs. Granted, it's best to pair off an ast with a sch so that you can double up on raid buffs, and it's easier for the ast to take over the whm role of solo healing while the sch dps's.
That's not to say ast can't do difficult content though. Just that it's easier with whm/sch. I want to stress that cause this latest patch really did help out ast a great deal.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that you're right. No raid healer is going to kick a whm/sch when the two still perform better in their roles. The only thing different is that raids aren't going to deny an ast when they want to join. Which was the case a week ago.
