Lol insane exp from leves? I just did leves, fighting guys 2 levels above me, and even with the guardian favor i was getting less exp per kill than guys 2 levels below me. The only thing that makes up for this is the extra exp at the end of the leve. But with the slower kills this kinda off sets that.
It is however not nearly as bad as i thought, finally found some places where every monster wasn't already dead. Funny how much arguing has come out of a simple post.
I agree great patch.
Also many people are getting much more XP than before the patch. You could follow their advice (for solo, duo, groups, mid level, high level, guildleves or grind) or you can whine. The great thing about 1.19 is it gives you options!!!
i started this game with beta and got bored a month after release..... hoping for ranks was no fun, seriously.
now i came back 3 days ago, because i wanted to see what happened so far and what 1.19 will bring. When i logged on after patch i was like: WTF what happend to my life and my dmg. hit a mob i was exping on yesterday and died....
but then my friend and me just went out to find a new camp to duo at... and we did lvl 25-30 this afternoon, was alot of fun. For sure this patch was a great change, but i like it and maybe some ppl should give it a real try before whining :)
So far the patch is nothing but a god send imo. My whole LS had a blast figuring out what's new, what changed, how does this new w/e effect this spell, this buff and so on. We did notice balance issues but not bad ones all issues we as players could take advantage of. If you figured out what we did Durst, you would NOT be upset LMAO. Trust me, you can severly power level with ease to 50 or w/e it is you want to do. Personally, not going that route. We all noticed our Mages gained HP while losing some MP pool but, most of us had so much MP we didn't know wtf to do with it all so this was a nice change and a challenge for us. Siphon MP I/II is RIDICULOUS now on living and dead mobs... Yes, you don't have to go out and find mobs 10+ levels above you anymore to get massive XP. They did balance it out to more the EM,DC,EP stype XI mob stat. So now you can actually work up your job in areas you won't or shouldn't be worried about crazy aggro.
IDK, spend some more time playing instead of complaining and try to see WHY things were changed as they were and try to understand how it makes the game BETTER and not so bland.
I am really tired of all the *** from this community. the damage is not less its *** balanced it will increase with gear and new spells/skills. This is an MMO single mob xp should be doable but not the best way to get it period. Healing is not slower. You just can't cant cue spells now. They off set this by raising the amount of healing DONE I was doing 750 before patch and now I am healing for 890, they also increased HP pools. WHICH BRINGS ME BACK TO BALANCE. it now makes sense that a rank 30 mob does not break my Stone Skin 2 in 3 hits now its takes a mob 6 to 10 hits if they are not close to my level. Anyway my point is if you don't have evidence to back up your claims then shut *** up... I am not saying this because i am raging I am saying this because I want this game to be great. I really do appreciate the hard work this DEV team puts into the game and I am looking forward to the future of FFXIV. My conjurer has never worked better thanks to this patch not to mention that AM spells actually work now lol, I don't get 2 shot with full buffs from mobs almost the same rank as me. Passive casting, and damage calculations that actually make sense.
Love the patch so far.
First off, whats good for you may not seem good to everyone else. Second, I challenge you to start a new character on a server you know noone on and get to 20 on one job in a day. Until then, miss "Ihave4jobsat50", you should really do some homework before you start ranting about how easy this is, because without other skills like cure from other jobs, leveling lancer from 1-20 without forming parties (which this game isn't currently setup to do easily) is gonna take way longer than a day.
Dont missunderstand me, I actually like the changes myself, and I am pleased that you can no longer go from level 1-12 in 3 leves. But new people don't want to hear some person thats been playing since launch and hasnt actually had to do any work in the new conditions go on about how easy it is.
That being said, love the new patch, and I hope that they keep the changes coming.
everything got rebalanced from the scratch, so its up to us to figure things out and test it before we are complaining.
It was the same about the "nerved" cures. After a few days nobody complained about not having enough mp.
I play an mmo because i like grouping. Exactly that is now so much better imo. Also the solo leves are better, not easier but you can chain and get more xp then before. Party now makes more sense then before and is more fun. And i like the fact that not every mob dies after 1-2 hits. It now takes a bit longer to kill. So there finally is room to use the skills instead of spamming.
Another good point is the fact that you get rewarded for links. This is the first patch that really changed a lot and i think its a big step in the right direction.
The change to spells like flare, etc. also is a good change, even though the animation is still sub par (but that will change with blm i might guess)
Ofc <3 to the chocobos and airships. The new added mobs look awesome as well.
im pretty positive also because we could see some tiny bit of the plans for the redesigned areas, gear, etc.
Hands-down loving this patch so far - and I haven't even experienced all the [new] content it brought yet!
I can get used to the new balance but the new battle mechanics without queuing skills/spells feels clunky on a controller as CNJ.
Was clunky at first, but ive adjusted. I have no problems anymore. Patch is very nice. People just need to learn how to adapt to changes. I cannot believe there were so many complaints just 1-2 hours after it went live.
Its like a friend of mine who wanted to try another mmo after playing WOW for 6 years. He gave it 1 day, 1 single day and said. Game is too hard. He never gave it a proper chance, and I feel majority of you who complained about this patch hasnt either. Plus all changes hasnt been released yet. Who knows what changes 1.19a,b,c will bring.
Have patience people ^^
I for one don't get a lot of time to play because of having a family and 2 small kids and 2 jobs, but I'm glad that this patch came out and I don't get why everyone is so pissed about it. I solo most of the time, and true before you could level fast but it made the game seem so easy. After dieing a couple times and adjusting to the patch with the right setup I can get exp chains x2 and 3 on the regular soloing. Plus its nice to actually have some strategy in the fights now instead of spamming actions. Just give it a chance and adjust you play style instead of being crouchity stuck in your ways and complaining. If you really are that upset by it move on to something else
I like almost all the changes except the battle sytsem/exp changes. Feels like a huge step backward. I'm going to adjust, but hopefully I don't get Stockholm Syndrome to this change as I'd like to see it scaled back to something that is a balance between 1.18's too-easy-to-get-exp-against-higher-level-mobs (or what the "hardcore" claim "get to level 50 in two weeks") and 1.19's group-or-you're-screwed mentality. I hope the massive feedback from the base of players that only want to spend an hour or two a day on this game goes back to SE so they scale back some of the combat changes. Otherwise loving everything else.
I like the fact crafting is now sane and accessible to more players now. I'm actually surprised there aren't any "hardcore" players complaining about how much easier it is to craft finished items and how they made recipes relatively accessible to casual players, considering how this thread consisted of a bunch of people pissing on the "casual" fanbase for not adjusting to the battle side. Them "resetting" the economy with the recipe streamlining and giving people an incentive to convert their dated gear into materia was IMO a pretty elegant solution to giving the economy a nice re-kickstart.
I completely agree with you on this.Quote:

Slow leveling? You gotta know where to level, I've been getting chain 5+ getting 1k EXP a pop on R37 MRD. At Strongholds, and there chains build EXP fast. He said it would take 30 seconds or so to kill a mob compared to the 5 sec kills from before but EXP is greater.
I was grinding Dodo's on my lv17 GLA that were 5-7 levels below me. I did this for 10 minutes just to zone out and get some loot. I got 2k EXP. And that's not even trying. FFS people, stop complaining.
A quick edit, something that I am not happy about; I just got 6k EXP in under 10 minutes from a pair of lv50 friends in my party rampaging the new LV15 dungeon in limsa. They killed everything in droves and I got ridiculous amounts of EXP. IMO that's broken and needs to be fixed. I think it was intended, to my dismay.
no it wont your at the mercy of the Crafters in this game. we can pretty much charge you dame near anything so long as it doesn't go above the npc sell price. why the hell would i waste my time with crafting lowbie gear at 2k a piece i mean does it look like i run salvation army or something. should i set my measly 8 gear bizarre to carry gear that's going to net me max profit or should i sell lowbie gear that can barely buy a unit of meat kebab.
all in all the game wasn't ready for the 1.19 patch we needed stream lined party's before we made the game party centered we needed more selling space before we trashed all the gear etc etc. but that's like SE's punch line well fix the game even if we do it half ass backwards.
lol whatever.
I love the patch and the direction this is going, we all knew a long time ago this was gonna happen.
You dont like it? Quit, wait 5 months, and come back so your POV is cleared on what u expect from the game, instead of using yesturdays POV.
This patch was major win.
QQ to all the soloers, go play WoW.
This thread reminds me of old Lineage II private servers. A typical discussion was this:
- Hello, Wanna party?
- STFU I'm soloing
(then he'd pk you but that's irrelevant)
Is this your vision of FFXIV? If so there are still L2 severs with zillion rates and potions so you'll never die.
I want to explore difficult to reach places while partying, and fight mobs I'd never go solo on (adventure, y kno?).
That's what XIV (and genarally MMO) is about.
As much of a proponent of MMOing in an MMORPG, I do find that I still solo a lot as well and my experience with soloing in the game is pretty good after the patch. Just need to hit the right mobs and actually pay attention in battle now.
Slow Leveling?! Are you serious?! Have you played FFXIV in the last year?! Now with a good party you can at the same time have fun and doing good exp ( 60k exp/hour )... If this is slow...
