Is there going to be some form of color selection on personal chocobos? It would be kind of boring if there were only yellow birds. Kind of takes away from the idea of "personal chocobo."

Color is too much work to implement..

I'm sure they planned on putting that on lodestone but some bunch of nerds (not offence!) found it before yoshi could even right the letter that was going along with it :P

Probably been mentioned but why did they put ffxi in the description lol. I like this video. Love how the call looks, and I love the flags on the chocobos and the armor details. I'm pretty pumped, can't wait till (way)later on when we can raise one and customize their gear now! ^^

You get your personal chocobo from the company and you need rank 22 to join a company ^^

They'll probably add other color chocobos when we can breed them. Figures that you would get "standard issue" chocobos when you join a military and the company artwork has Black and White chocobos in it so they do exist in the game world.

This trailer sucked balls. The only people who are excited by this trailer are the over-hyped fanboys. I mean, seriously, this video seemed to shout "LOOK WE HAVE CHOCOBOS, SHUT UP NOW!"

Don't know what the guy above me is so upset about, but I made a Chocobo Tribute for FF XIV a few weeks back before the official video came out. It's not the greatest but it was something to get people excited for 1.19, especially with how rare it was to see a chocobo moving around before then. Hope you guys are as excited to ride one finally as much as I am! :p

While I would like an in-out animation, I'm not overly upset of them just showing up either. I'm just glad we're finally getting them ^^

It would be cool if they showed up running behind you then you jumped on but this is probably a lot better for lag or whatever else~ Definitely like the whistle animation and flags on the side of the chocobo :) Hope we get armored chocobos in the future :)

Would you have rather had over-the-top flashy cut-scenes? The trailer did what it needed to do—show real-time footage of the chocobo being used in game.

A back-story would be nice. Anything would be better than just them running through the desert. Hell, they didn't even change towns or birds, all it was was Ul'dah and Ul'dah birds.

Haha! totally forgot about that CS. That's what all the races should do, whistle for the bird it comes running in then hop on its back, then when you take control its already running!

The option to name your chocobo in-game would be cool too, bit more personalised.

@EmeraldHill: Pretty sure the dev team has more important things to do than make an uber flashy trailer with spangles and baubles, the trailer they made was good enough, it said and did everything it needed to :p

Go play Lineage II then? Also what backstory? Chocobos don't need a backstory in this game. It made sense in FFXI, especially with the Chocobo Raising segments. All Chocobos run the same (based on race) it would be pointless to show a chocobo running through each region as it's the same mechanic.

They get you somewhere faster.

Good god, who cares where the video was shot!? The whole point of it is to show the difference in speed between a rental and a personal chocobo. They don't need to show it in all the regions, it's the same thing. I'll see them in different backgrounds when I play the patch myself.

Well you see, some people around here like to play vicariously through this forum. Those people don't always log in to the game, nor will they get to experience it properly because of this. I bet they haven't even seen the orange puddings in the game.

This is exciting!
