Lol hardly. you'd be surprised how many incidents they've had over the years with trivial stuff. It's 'cos in the u.k we have these things called 'chavs' (council housed and violent), basically youthes that walk around in large groups, all dressed the same, all look like clones, that will insult, abuse and sometimes attack people just for being even slightly different.
There was a guy living near me that looked the spitting image of Marilyn Manson, he was hospitalised by a group of youthes that jumped him in broad daylight and beat the hell out of him in the middle of town.
there's been shootings, stabbings, thievery, assault, burglary, U.K has the worst crime rate in the whole of europe.
I can't even go to the 24 hour supermarket at this time of night simply because it's car park would be littered with chavs and boy racers looking for a fight because they haven't got enough brain cells between them to think of anything intelligent to do.
So no, it's not better in this country, just 'cos it's smaller doesn't make the problem smaller.
Rin you wouldn't last long where I live, lol. Personally some think the stuff I like is questionable, Anime mostly. I got several friends who watch Anime but they are a bit closed minded when it comes to the stuff they like. Personally I like all Anime and most the people I know just don't get it and vocally mention it lol. It doesn't bother me at all though, they tend to be simpletons and I laugh at them for it. Same goes with music, I really listen to all music and not any one thing in particular.
I wasn't meaning because it's smaller. I was just going by what I'd heard. Sorry.
I actually live in a place that is much like Kashuan, there isn't anyone in this ghost town.
I actually only know one person irl that likes anime like I do. Other friends, eh, they watch it, but only as something to do, they aren't fans.
The manga section in Forbidden Planet (one of the only anime outlets in the U.K) never has anyone standing in it apart from when I go there, and it's always only me.
Speaking of which, I'm going there later today after I've finished this second stage of my job interview to buy another 3 Haruhi mangas :D
Time sure is going slow though, haven't slept in over a day now 'cos when I go to sleep I have this habit of not waking up for 12+ hours. Didn't sleep tuesday night so I wouldn't miss yesterdays interview, not sleeping tonight so I don't miss todays interview.
God job I'm used to pushing myself like this.
BUT once I get home from my little shopping trip which I'll probably go directly to straight from the interview, I'm gonna open up that bottle of rose and have a very good night playing FFXIV ^.^
Also, Rinoa, you don't have to apologise, I wasn't argueing or anything, just saying, it's as bad here if not worse. :p
That's it, I've picked my 2 Forum buddies. If only we could have a friends list on the forums.
Oh, by the way, is Scrapheap-Challenge (Junkyard-Wars) on anymore?
They need to give us a Realfriends plus like WoW has, so you can talk to your friends in game cross servers etc.
Indeed. i can't see them implimenting this for a while though given the workload, and probably because not enough people would benefit from it's use due to the small player-base atm.
And no I don't think they are still making scrapheap challenge.
There have been rumours of another Red Dwarf series in the works though.
Well, As far as i've seen, scrapheap is still being produced. up until 2010 Dick Strawbridge was doing it. it was a very small show and it was a disgrace compared to the first 3 seasons. They even got rid of the 10-hour time limit.
Yeah I watched it,
Which is why I brought up Red Dwarf, the host of Scrapheap Challenge was Kryton.
I may go put my red dwarf dvds on now XD
Kryton was the best in that series, Cat was second. It's weird that most of the shows I watched on tv were from the UK
That's because it was made by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company), and the writers and actors were all from Britain.
They did try to make an American version but the americans screwed up the storyline so bad in it's pilot episode that they cancelled it without even considering trying a first series.
I mean, in the american one, Lister was handsome! How wrong is that???
Yeah i know, It's just weird that i happened to watch a lot of your shows but only one from here. Have you seen Modern Marvels on the History Channel?
I don't watch it aether, but that's because we don't have cable and all the best anime is online.
The two BBC shows I really got into were Merlin (if you have any idea when the next season airs let me know) and Robin Hood. Two great classics handled extremely well by the BBC.
Bleh, in my opinion there's been nothing good come out on british t.v since... I can;t even remember.
British T.V was better when this was on it
I tried to watch Dr. Who once, now I know why BBC erased the first 400 episodes.
Konachibi, how do you have so many posts since August? I don't even.
Actually all these posts were gained as of last sunday, before then I ignored the forums and only played the game.
I have this many posts because I am a special secret class with the game named Chatterbox. All I do is equip a keyboard, and my class switches from 'lazy slob' to 'chatterbox', and I gain the ability to type an over-abundant supply of messages into the lodestone forums, which gives me SP and increases my rank.
I am currently rank 9.
Your going at a fast rate. I'm having trouble keeping up with you. (^_^)
My current average posting speed is about 2-1. This is due to me allocating much of my points into DEX. However I am able to use a skill called 'Touch-type' that let's me type at a rapid speed whilst looking at the screen. This ability is not always available however.
However the lack of points in INT causes many of my posts to fail. I do not aquire as much SP for these posts.
I always have to read what i type about 3 times because of server lag, You never know when you'll cast trollga and it won't do anything.
Kona I have as many posts as I have since Forums have launched. You got all yours since last Sunday. Something smells a little like a troll around here, rofl.
/poke thread. So where is everyone at tonight?
nuuuunununu, I just like to talk a lot. A troll is someone who goes into a thread and just throws insults and rudeness at everyone or laughs at them all and says everything they're talking about is wrong. When I make a post I try to put in some valid input and thoughts. I can't help it if I have a lot to say :p
As for where I am, I only woke up an hour or two ago. Finally finish my job interview so just need to wait for them to phone me up with a start date. but since I hadn't slept for 2 days so as to be sure I'd defenitely be on time for both my interview stages, I was utterly worn out by the time I got home, so I had some wine then went to sleep on the couch.
I fed my mogwai after dinner.. is that not where these trolls come from?
Have you guys heard of icefilms.com?
Modern-Marvels
Mythbusters
Mst3k
These are the only shows that i watch other than anime. I hope you like them. =)
Sorry, i guess I like boring things then. (I am currently reading through a 1500 page transistor replacement Manual.)
Always good and healthy to read through something that may prove usefull in the future ^.^
I used to spend hours on wikipedia collecting information and knowledge on stuff that seemed totally irrelevant. Often found myself using that information at some point too for something, usually from answering questions when my parents are watching quiz shows on the T.V.
Ended up buying the last 3 haruhi mangas and FFXIII, and bought my friend a Space Wolf (warhammer 40k) model. He wasn't at home though so I couldn't give it to him :(
Didn't like going down the road to his house though, first time I've been down there on my motorbike and it's only wide enough for 1 vehicle so if there's someone coming the other way, it's basically crunch time.
Gonna make a start on this bottle of wine now and do some leve's on Ren, then FINALLY start on the storyline quests XD
As much of an Anime fan I am I do not read mangas at all. I read mostly fantasy novels, right now I am reading the Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind. Reading the Fourth book "Temple of the Winds", these are some seriously great novels. Other Authors I enjoy are R.A Salvator (duh) David Gemmell, Paolini(Eragon books) and a few other authors I can't put names on right at this moment.
I used to read a lot of Terry Pratchet's Discworld series. I collected them in order right up until The Fifth Elephant then juist sort of... stopped collecting. Other than that I thoroughly enjoy Kelley Armstrong's 'Women Of Witchcraft' series, they all have amazingly deep plots and I always like novels where they put a fantasy style into a modern day scenario, so it has witchcraft, scorcery, werewolves, vampires and a host of other stuff all thrown into a modern day city. They're really good reads.
I also loved Terry Brook's 'Magic Kingdom For Sale/Sold', once upon a time when I was a heavy roleplayer I used to roleplay as a sylph based off the one in those stories, I thought she was an excellent character.
Big fan of Frank Herbert's Dune series too, he made a true legacy with those books and opened up the eyes of many to the world of sci-fi, and his son James Herbert did an excellent job of making the Dune prequals. A shame Westwood Studios is gone now that EA messed them up because I liked the Dune games too.
Have to admit though God: Emporer Of Dune was a really tough book to read, the conversations were so complex it was hard to know what they were really saying to each other most of the time, though I guess that kind of thing happens when someone is talking to a person that is able to see past, present and future all at once and already knows what that person is going to say and how he himself will answer.
Like Karen Chance's books too, they're very similar to Kelley Armstrongs novels, all modern day witchcrafty stuff.
And Nancy Baker made some awesome vampire stories, they were brilliant, and so much better than the Anne Rice and Twilight tripe that's been marketed everywhere. I mean, I used to read Anne Rice, but Nancy Baker's version of vampires were just so much better <3 Shame her books never really took off though, Blood & Chrysanthemums was a total nightmare to buy, think it took me about 3 days of endless online searching to finally find someone that sold it, defenitely worth it though.
Hmmm we are still missing a ton of All Stars. Perhaps they think they are too good to make posts in here?
I like the Dresden File by Jim Butcher. Totally puts Harry Potter to shame.
Also The Brethren, The Crusades, and the Fall of the Knight's Templar by Robyn Young.
