With it being clear that there would be a few more-popular choices its hard to think what to enter that isnt already going to be entered. IE: no point submitting an afro if person a and b have already done so.
No more bangs plz
do we really need a contest just to get Clouds Hair...sigh

When FF XIII Lightning Returns came out, there was a special event here that (among other things) gave us Lightning's or Snow's hairstyle. I'd say, we're likely to get Cloud's hair once the VII remake is released if we don't have it before then. (Before then would be good, though it would mean one less thing for them to offer in the promotional event. They've already given us his outfit as a veteran bonus.)
I don't think someone will be able to enter Cloud's hair, anyway. They want originality. Says it can't be from any other SE franchise or some such if I'm not mistaken.
They havnt said if its for men or for women yet. Beside I was only giving an example. I'm sure that if SE were sent in several drill curls or several one-plait french braid that theyd only choose one of each to go to finals. It'd be nice if people had a way to tell if its already been submitted so that they can come up with something else. Speaking obviously, only the most popular will win and be in the game, but theres still other finalists that can receive the barding.
I'm also curious, if both EU and NA have the contest does that mean 4 new styles (+afro) for 3.1? That'd be awesome if so.
Just as a quick FYI, be careful not to post your submitted hairstyles online before selection is finalized. I am not sure if this counts for drawings posted way before the contest was announced, but just forewarning.
