I noticed that, too... not sure why =\ Probably just more website screw-ups, or the way their servers are connected together. Although, I clearly know nothing about that sort of stuff. Not sure why I'm even replying to this, but I'm just supporting all of the confusion, lolz.
Lmao oh it's hurting it alright at least NA store so far. Was looking 9 hours ago. Sure XBoxOne version has "Sold Out" has a Waiting List yada yada, but the PS4 version is still totally available apparently. That bundle was only $100... I admit I ordered it months ago. It better be worth it or the whole CE spiel is officially null and void with SE. $100 maaaaybe would've been fair for the HW CE, but... Still.... That statue is so tiny!
if by EU you mean EUROPE as a whole, then I can tell you that is NOT the case, none of the shops I asked where I live have that in pre-order. If you mean EU as Euro Zone, which exclude countries that are not part of the Euro-Zone, then I might agree with you, so my question is...how can those that live in EUROPE but are not part of EURO - ZONE gone have that
a)pre-ordere andi f pre-order exists
b) shipped
as far as it looks so far, I do live in a french speaking countr/german speaking country and italian speaking coutry (yes all three of them) BUT I cannot pre-order and even less have it delivered to my home because I do not live in France, Germany or Italy
Any answer to that ?

I can only imagine the panic going on at SE Server HQ right now with the clock ticking down to the Americans being able to pre-order, too... While still attempting to clear up this mess.
A dev update would be nice. We have been waiting quite a while now. Acknowledging people's concerns about the price difference would be nice too.
i have kept myself awake to get a SE STORE ONLY CE edition, and so far this has been a very disappointing thing :c
honestly you have over 4 million adventurers that you boast about, and you weren't expecting people to flock to the servers, if i was in your shoes thinking ahead i would of had back up servers to cover the massive load.
if the EU store is down while your fixing it i would back up the hell out of the NA servers otherwise that will go down just as fast and none will be happy.
Meanwhile, at Square-Enix, tensions continue to rise as Square-Enix's finest struggle to get the store up and running.

Agreed on the dev update. Maybe at ETA for being able to pre-order in EU?
Also something is bugging me. Although it's not under SE's control, anyone knows why the pre-orders are open on Amazon FR and US and not UK (didn't check other EU countries)? That sounds ridiculous to me. I know that I could order it in France but it's longer delay on the shipment.
Also about that pound/euro difference, we're just screwed here in the UK (I regret not having my french credit card anymore). NISA does it, as well as almost everyone who has a selling monopoly on a product: under cover of selling the standard edition anywhere, they put stupid prices on CEs and don't bother to align currencies because they can do it, so why not more easy money even if it's very unfair? Sad but true, don't count on SE to correct the prices of the CE....
Really need a update ^_^
Maybe the best is just make the preorder start tomorrow again at the same hour instead of having us all waiting pressing F5!
This is what one of SE's twitter pages said to me regarding the matter earlier:

Apparently it is normal for companies to come up with one price then just shove a different currency sign in front of it.
Wow. Professionalism at its best.
Hmm.. glad other companies I@ve bought from in past doesn't have this mentality.
That's not one of SE's twitter accounts.
As previously mentionned this is a fan account and not as official statement.
However what they said isn't wrong. It is fairly common now for publishers to only change the currency sign (and invoque more or less dubious reasons to do so) from dollars to euros to pounds... And keep the CE for themselves to avoid concurrency with a fair(ish) price.
Anyways I don't think the price will change unfortunately. So instead of pressing them to change it maybe we should try to ask when and where will the CE be available outside of SE's store? Their post said "for now", so we have reasons to believe maybe Amazon will have some CE in pre-orders within a few days' time.
Bungie did it recently with a DLC and a lot of people got angry
Aye I'm just glad I saved up enough money and while I get that the difference isn't fair it is what it is (sadly). At this stage I just want a dev or any official to give us an update. I don't mind refreshing the page (have done so all day) but an update as to what is going on or whether other places will have a CE stock would be nice.
Why does Amazon tell me the pre-order code is for 39.99?
When I close my eyes I see the system maintenance message.
I play a lot of JRPGs and VNs and EVERY SINGLE collector's sold by NISA Europe has the "lazy currency disease": Neptunia, Atelier, Danganronpa, Fairy Fencer F, and I can't list all of them. I stopped buying collector's for my favourite games because the prices in the UK (and let's be honest, euro-zone too) aren't fair. I though Heavensward would be different (didn't have much problem with SE prices in the past) but if they start doing it too I'll pass on the CE.
I don't mind spending lots of money, I'd gladly pay £500 if they make it worth it but enough is enough with screwing over EU/UK buyers.
I'm calling my local gamestop to see what they have to say as soon as they open (in a few minutes). I'll share my findings if they're worthwhile.
This was posted by Square Enix Europe about 45 minutes ago.

Thing is, they're NOT screwing over the EU buyers - just the UK. It's almost £40 CHEAPER in Euro than in Pounds Sterling. It's only the fans in the UK that are getting shafted. I've bought CE of FF PC games since FFVII (with the mousemat)... this will probably be the first I can't buy.
Is there any update on when pre-orders will be available for people with the Steam version? Will we get early access also?
The girl at gamestop seemed to know less than we do, so that was a dead end. I really hope the SE site starts working in 3hrs.
We've had no real update for well over 8 hours and they are fully aware of that nobody can purchase/access/pre-order anything from their shop. I feel that Square Enix are communicating very poorly.
Well SE maybe not, but I can assure you that NISA is screwing Euro conversions almost as much as Pounds. I wasn't based in the UK when they started doing so I didn't pay much attention to UK prices at the time, but now I'm looking out for both and I'm twice as pissed >__>
Let's stop discuss NISA though, it's not the place. The price in Euros is still ok as far as Square Enix and Heavensward are concerned, but the UK pricing is insane. Let's see what happens when the store re-opens, I don't have much hope they'll fix it for UK buyers but we can only officially complain from there.
