So many people playing as miqo'te!!

You can't loose then, ey? Either you change from Au Ra to leave behind all the Miqo'te Doppelganger. Or you just stay Miqo'te and become more unique because Au Ra will be new FOTM race.

Joking aside, there are plenty of Hyur as well, it's just that Sun and Moon Miqo'te look the same while Mid, other than be "normal", and Highlander are so different they could be different races. This way the eye is somehow deceived. Though I have a feeling that the Au Ra race even if overly popular at first will find its balance faster, getting its place in the Hyur/Miqo/Aura top 3 choosen races

Every MMO has a most popular race/gender combo. That's just how it goes!

In this game it just happens to be the cat girls, which I'm totally cool with, only the ones that talk like cats when they type annoy me.

I chose Miqo'te cuz I felt they were the least human like race thanks to the tail and ears. Lalafell are too short for me. If Roe had tails like Galka I'd have gone with them. :3 I might change to Au Ra... depends if I like their emotes/run.

Frankly, the best emotes are Miqo'tes'

I play Miqo predominantly, in ffxi I played Mithra, and mithra did not have playable male counterparts so In ffxiv I still look twice when I see a male miqo. When I finally shelved xi for good I was already missing my first miqo and really wanted to come back to xiv just to level her and experience the new remade game I heard so much about. I admit I fell in love with how well made and detailed characters were in xiv and was always disappointed that XI didn't put more effort into customization. I view my main character as a continuation in spirit of the adventures I started in XI, different name, different world but the spirit, and personality feels the same ^^. Similar to other players I tried making an elezen and was awed that I could make one similar to a drow elf, however the minimum height just ruined the image for me and after a few days she was deleted.

Tried Au Ra in benchmark... The hair.. All of them are awful...

Females make the best protagonist. Nuff said. I bounce around every race cuz I have identity issues lol. But seriously Miqote have the best (for now) animations and their body frame is more to my appeal since its not tall or small tho Hyurs work great as well. These two races are the only ones that get a skirt... - .-; Au Ra from what I've seem, got everything I wanted. So once I switch, I'll finally have found my true identity. :p

@Fallen, I don't like the long bangs on longer styles and don't like any of the ponytails.

My fave miqo style is available for others as well, long and kind of braided down the back a little. Didn't like the highlights on it though so changed for a bit.

To be honest though when I made my miqo the only hair I liked was the ponytail, but now there are quite a few I switch between. I personally played a female miqo initially because I'm a girl in real life who likes cute characters and I thought lalas were a bit too small to appreciate cool gear (didn't in any way base my choice on hair, though I have a friend who picked midlander for a hairstyle...). I've made alts of various races but came to the conclusion miqos have the best animations and emotes, so I don't think I'll be switching. I'll probably try an au ra as an alt just to see but I prefer cats over lizards so I doubt I will change.

The only 2 hairs I like that were Mithra base (Yes Mithra, not Miqote) are the small twin tail and the single tail ones. Now my current hair, I just plainly like the Yukiko Hair (yes I'm bad with hair names XD). I love this hair so much that I never bother to go back to any of the default hairs. Now if SE gave me hair like Platinum.... it's gg cuz it will come off. I just generally like long hair and/or tails. Very rarely will I use short hair but the bangs are a must for me. Now the long hair Au Ra get... choices....

That is the same lame excuse my brother gave me when I asked him why he always plays female characters, because playing as a dude is "gay" apparently. I just told him, if you can't play as a male character and control yourself from staring at his ass, then maybe you might be "gay". Everyone else can play as a male without staring at him, so I don't really understand that mentality.

I'm comfortable enough in my own sexuality to say a guy has a nice rump. I mean a nice tucas is a nice rear. On that note there are no nice dirriere's in the game or any butt for that matter.

It's funny, I do play a Miqote but I quite loathe the 'cat' aesthetic. The whole cat-like emotes(i.e. balling their hands into 'paws') drive me nuts. But I tolerate all that because it's the lesser of all evils. There's things I hate about every race and it all came down to what I hated least, lol.

Midlanders, I hate their running animation and their emotes, too frilly. Highlanders look fantastic but I can't do with the power thighs. Elezen are the second least hated and I have ran as an Elezen for a time, I was even a dark elf and looked awesome, but I just couldn't get used to their proportions and how they looked in a lot of gear. Lalas were just immediate no, just no to everything, haha. Roes have great faces, but again, proportions; I just don't dig the bulk. It all came down to the Miqote's physique. I really do adore the slim, petite figure too much so I ran with the cat because running animations were nicer, and outside the 'cat' emotes they had decent other characteristics.

I played as a cat a few times, mainly because I just couldn't get over the midlander running animation for so long. At this point I just don't care and I find it kind of comical/campy for me to tank or whatnot while flailing like a schoolgirl. Never was super into the cats, not sure why. I get the appeal, I just don't FEEL the appeal I guess!

That being said going Au'Ra because they pretty. That and they have a less cheerleadery run and still have at least somewhat normal proportions.

I started out as a Miqo'te and I still like the race more so than most of the others. The only reason I decided to change was the fact of there being SO many cat people running around. It seems all of the races have something that bothers me about them though, and I've changed from Miqo>Highlander>Midlander because I can't make up my mind. I'll be sticking with my midlander for now, at least until I change to Au Ra. :cool:

(Male Auri are.../swoon) I have 2 femRa as well, one Raen and one Xaela) Miqo'te will forever be my favorite though, because it personally reminds me of myself, height-wise. (FemRa max height is my irl height, though)

I play as a cat, because the character is based off my cat, who is a cat. If it weren't for my cat, there would have been likely one more in the femroe crowd. I have been really wanting to at least try derplander though because I hate my character's face. I've been trying to find ways to cover up the face for now.

Midlander 4ever. I tried being a giraffe for a very brief period but went back to the same good old way I'm supposed to be.

I have played a female miqote since 1.0, and before that Draenei in WOW cause WAGGLE xD

Maybe the search bar? What possesses people to look for specific things.... your guess is as good as mine.

I think pervy boys wanting something sexy to look at is actually a minor reason this race is chosen so much. I've seen sexy females of all races all over Eorzea and the far east, and RL females often choose Miqo'te as well. Female Miqo'te are simply cute, pretty, lively, feisty, and have some really good animations. They fit well with most jobs and glamour options, and are the closest to looking human without being one, so the generic factor is completely erased. I would actually be surprised if the female Miqo'te population was lower than it is.

I personally don't play one because I don't like tails, and the pretty kitties are a little young looking. Which is fine, but I wanted my character to appear as someone around their late 20's to early 30's. If I ever choose to do an alt character, I will definitely go Au ra before Miqo'te.

I started as miqo because I'm a huge cat person and I really liked the interesting way the cat ears sit in their head. It looks like something evolved to be that way rather than just having giant cat ears tacked on as a second thought. I changed to Au ra though because imo they have much nicer skin tone range (less saturated so goes with more colours) and uh.... a nicer face. Tbh I hate the majority of faces for all female characters. They're pretty ugly. x_x

The only thing I really despise about Au Ra is that the horns are so incredibly dumb. Most of them look like they'll stab themselves if they raise their arms up.
