These speedtests are already in bits per second, not Bytes, so no conversion needed.

I've spent the last 2 days trying to optimise my ping times to SE. This is the best I've been able to get...

Local Aussie connection however is:

I wish SE had a server here in Brisbane. I'm on the NBN so I'd be set. Once I try to connect to overseas though it feels like I may as well be on dialup. That top ping to Montreal is absolutely fantastic by my standards. Often it's over a thousand. It still makes me cry that I can't get it under 250 though :(
and mine is 5mb for 65$Quote:
Base price for 15Mb is almost $60/month with
what a rip off
._.
Um... what ARE you smoking? Connection speed? You have upstream and downstream bandwidth, there is no "connection speed".
8 bits = 1 byte. b=bit, B=byte.
That said, you'd be correct if the speed test reported megaBYTE per second speeds, but it doesn't. The speed is clearly posted at Mb/s (small b). In that case, 1000Mb/s = Gigabit. 125MB/s would be Gigabit, but Ookla reports megabit speeds.
Hey! I just moved to Brisbane a few months ago and got an NBN connection too with iiNet, I get the same speeds and have only noticed a little improvement with WTFast or Pingzapper.
I heard Blizzard is opening up servers in Australia that also connect to North America (so you can still play with all your friends). I hope one day Square Enix have the resources to do the same thing, I really hope! I'm sick of using latency as an excuse for why some attacks don't show up on my screen until they are already executed on the server.
But as far as patches go, I tend to download them extremely fast. So we got that going for us, which is nice. ;)
Welcome to BrisVegas o.o/~
The NBN is yummy when not trying to connect to overseas so be sure to take advantage of it locally if you can, for example I think iiNet has some local game servers for a few different things (don't remember what, I only play a couple of online games and they don't cover them) and it's also good if you can access local FTP's and the like.
Yeah, I tried a couple of VPN's but found they weren't worth their subscriptions (as least for me) so always stopped them within a week or two.
Patch downloads certainly are fast but I'm a little worried that we may not actually be able to download the patch until a few minutes before servers go back up and 99% of people won't be able to download it fast enough.

Oh yeah so when its time to play again in a few hours, Watch them bring it back down for emergency maintenance for 4 hours (I am guessing)
then tomorrow night as well and the night after for a few weeks :(
20.5 mbps download...
I'm not getting that house. Am I. >:\

Canadian internet is hard life when you live in an area that was made in the 1920s. Can't have fibre here because of it >_>
"hard life" yet your connection is more than 10 times faster than mine. (fastest option available in my area and no option for fibre)
You know nothing of "hard life"! >:|
I would actually be extremely happy with your speeds, especially the up speed lol
But anyway I hope it's put up soon. Keep coming back to PC just to check if it's up between naps >_>
/ . \ where is my patch
Might as well join the bandwagon:

That's from my home to Montreal.
EDIT: I pay less than $80 for this. :P
EDIT 2: Yesterday I was downloading a game off Steam at a peak of 13.7 MegaBYTES per second. I was happy.
I really don't get all the crappy internet speeds...I can get 17Mb/s on my cell phone...100ms ping sure...but that's faster over the air then you guys are getting through your wired connections. That makes 0 sense. Even if I speedtest on 3G instead of LTE with two bars of signal (checking from my basement), I can get 2Mb/s or better.

This my land connection BTW.
this is not looking good usually they have patch up 4 hours before end of maintenance but 2 hours more on original maintenance time still no patch.
I'm a bit worry. Less then 3 hours and no patch yet. As bad as I don't want it to happens, we may get an extension in maintain.
Did someone say Grinding?! You are the coffee bean.

Download is up guys
2 GBs almost exactly for PC (2078MB)
2078.68 MB in case people were wondering :P
anyone else have really slow DL on this patch?
It's simple really. Most people in this thread are getting the gigantic rip off because of these ISP companies being stingy and throttling speeds, but marking up the price to insane heights because they know there's no other option in the area. Availability is also key. It's one thing to have a type of ISP speed, but another to have it available in one's area. It's because of these things is why I'm happy for the current ongoing Gigabit internet war that Google initially started. If not for Google showing up Time Warner, Comcast and the rest up with Google Fiber's potential, a lot of people would still be getting the squeeze right now.
This war will still rage on for another 2-5 years, but it's a good thing nonetheless. We need a good paradigm shift in the telecommunications area. Look at these various speeds and then consider the fact that some places like Hong Kong and Japan have 50~60 Mb/s as an average peak speed.
Move to Sweden, where we can get 1Gbit/sec, for 118$/month, or 100Mbit, for under 40$
I'm getting 2MB/s (16Mb/s). So the download is going at about 1/4 of my actual internet speed. Fair enough for a heavily trafficked connection.
OK - this is geting BAD now! I need to update:
- Game launcher
- Game itself (both on PS4, "backup" PS3 - in case today's PS4 firmware goes bad - and PC - in case PSN goes bad)
- PS4 system / firmware as it's cleverly scheduled for today as well (and still also not live!)
- Vita system / firmware as it's cleverly scheduled for today too (need this to be able to access PS4 / game via remote play as I need to leave house just the moment the maintenance should have been over - they've really screwed me over by extending it by hour, gah!)
If all above will faill I'd need to grab one of my office laptops, download the patch quickly and then go to "bathroom" for a couple of minutes to tend tend the gardens and try to grab the house.
In case of quadruple failure I'll just sit quietly in the corner and cry for all the lsot crops and house ...
EDIT:
PHEW! Just as I've posted this the patch went live - one relieve. 9 minutes to download on first device ...
2078.68Mb 60 min on my internet speed.
Oh, everyone's jumping on the download train! My DL speed just dropped to 1.23MB/s. lol About 17 minutes.
