Too bad. Suck it up and do it like everyone else had and has to. I'm still doing Atma for other jobs but you don't see me coming here and crying like an entitled child hoping to get their way.

I don't care about the shiny, I find the nexus ugly. I want it for its stats and the sake of achievement. But all of my free time (because I say it again, all my free time goes into catching up on FFXIV) isn't enough to get the ATMA until the next level of relic arrives, and i'd be stuck in an infinite loop not being able to enjoy the rest of the game if i kept doing it.
The reason why they unlocked myths cap, or binding coil restrictions was to allow slower (or busy) players to catch up. We're simply asking SE to do the same for the previous stages of the relic.
my biggest gripe with atma is that the only source for it is fates, i wouldnt mind RNG if i could get atmas from various stuff like duty roulettes, Hardmode primals, EX primals, hard dungeon and expert dungeon. Fates get after a while so dull, so it would be nice to spice it up a bit.
The stats provide a negligible benefit over items of equivalent ilvl. So, with that out of the way, all that's left is the achievement portion of it. If you claim to want it for the sake of achievement, why would you want it to be made easier? That would just cheapen the achievement aspect of it. Not much of an achievement if you have to put in a minimal amount of effort to obtain it.
You don't need to catch up. You don't need a relic. If you want it as badly as you claim to, work for it. If you don't want to work for it, you don't deserve to have it. It's as simple as that. Get another weapon. It will be just as good as the relic if it's the same item level.
You do realize this is not about the actual step of getting the weapon, it's the terrible RNG process of it. No thinking is required to do 99% of fates in this game so no one has an actual issue with doing the quest, it's spending large amounts of time trying to hope RNG is on your side. You DO understand the difference, right?
I completely understand the difference. It's only one step of the relic, and it's in all honesty not even close to as bad as people on the forums make it out to be.
Just deal with it. Why do you feel entitled to something without having to put in the effort to obtain it? What makes you so deserving?
Personally, I'd like the relics to be on the same level of grind and accomplishment as in XI (pre-Abby). Essentially, no more than 100 weapons of any one type on the server and make them hands-down the best weapons out there.
Relics used to mean something.
No, you don't understand, just because you got lucky with quick atmas "i assume that is why you are throwing the i had no issues with it, so there is nothing wrong" card out does not mean it's the same for everyone else, try spending 4 weeks of grinding and you only have 2/12 atams to show for it, how accomplished will you feel. knowing 5 other people finished before you.
I didn't get lucky. At all. I've spent several hours in some zones only to come out empty handed. I love how people make baseless accusations toward people who oppose making Atma easier.
You're not going to get any pity from me. Stop trying to invalidate the work other people put in by just dismissing them as 'lucky' when that's almost entirely guaranteed to not be the case.
Would love to know what your 4 weeks of grinding consisted of. You must not have tried very hard if you only came out with 2 atma.
Edit - You know what, if I could, I'd give you an entire set of Atma for free if under that condition you were forced to speed run Brayflox hard mode first two bosses for the entirety of your Animus books. Would love to see how you feel about that.
I clicked "like" cause i agree it could be changed but i dont think its "HORRIBLE at inception and horrible now"
I have 6 atma weapons already, so this doesnt really affect me much, but i'm kinda sick of seeing people moan and complain. It also would be nice if there was a more defined way to get an atma. Hell in my opinion they never should have added sands and oils to hunts and simply unlocked ST sooner and added the sand to it from the beginning, then added atma at a cost of 2,000 allied seals per stone and boom, perfect game imo and i hope everyone elses.
(well, minus needing an auto hide chat log, looped music all across the board [this is Final Fantasy after all, and i dont want to see any dev say "the music was not designed to loop" bs they gave in alpha/beta, because they looped Pharos Sirius and people loved it.. just gotta do it for the rest of the game] and the male miqo'te tail fixed.)
Atma drop rate is fine.
Not as bad yeah ok tell that to those of us who have done fates every day for 3 months before getting the atma weapon. It took me a little over 2 weeks for thanalan alone.
Again some of you clearly do not understand that atmas is complete RNG. Some get all in a day, others a few, some get it in weeks, others in months.
I have done fates with fc members even and they got multiple atmas in the runs while i got nodda. I am so over the atmas but just pointing out that i agree with many others who most likely are in the same boat i was, atmas dropping for everyone around them and they get nothing.
I would like to see this changed a bit. I do have 4 more weapons for which I need atmas and it has been 8 hrs of solid fate grinding since I got my last one (over a couple days mind you). Maybe having a stacking buff to the drop rate the refreshes 1/day.
I love how you kids assume things, I don't know what to shake my head at more here, the fact you don't think it does not require luck "because it does. RNG, etc" or you assumed i was included in this. i did not experience the 4 week drought, that is is one of the many tales of what people go through on this horrible atma farming. but your stamtents, regardless of how pointless they were for the sake of needless bragging, are still silly.
Why couldn't you let this thread die?
A couple things here;
No one wants or needs your pity so feel free to keep it, no fretting on your part so congratulations.
Atmas stones are pure rng. So while players put in effort to fate grind. The fact that they received one means, yes, they got lucky. The rng god smiled on them with favorable probability.
Saying someone who only got 2 atma in 4 weeks of grinding must not have been trying hard is effectively spitting in their face, seriously rng is rng is rng. Expecting someone to have collected a certain amount after a period of time of grinding shows you have no grasp of the situation.
Drop rate is fine. I completed my 3rd set for ninja last Tuesday and started on a 4th set for blm in 2 days I managed to get 10/12 and been stuck on central thannalan for past 2 day part my fault there was times I found myself not having right weapon equip anther thing I noticed was spending way more time in this zone than I should. Just break for kid doctor appointment when I get back ill swap zones for other one I need, all I can say to those who rant see their drops is keep at it swap zone if no drop in 2-3hrs in one zone.
Lol first fate in middle la noscea atma drop back to central thannalan
And couple hrs later in central thannalan atma of the scale finally drop that completes my 4th set. I'll start a 5 set tomorrow.
To outright state 4 weeks alone says nothing. It does not tell me how many FATEs they did. How many hours they played the game. This is what my problem was with the 4 weeks bit. I genuinely would love to know exactly how Atma pans out for everyone. It would provide a lot of clarity on the matter.
I've been on and off the Atma quest since it started.
So far 4-5 Atma and counting.
But we didn't come here to listen to people who don't have Atma just so we can harass them with "How many hours did you play? How many Fates? What's your SSN? Mother's maiden name?"
So I'll tl;dr with "I've played 700 hours and ran 14283 Fates to end up with 4-5 Atma pieces pls fix1!!"
Supported.
Annoying we keep pulling up 200+ upvote threads & they still haven't responded again.
