Errm... well, I'm a full-time housewife? Surely that qualifies for some monetary compensation? I should start pestering my husband for a raise...
Ahem. Anyway, I guess I'm lucky in that my partner has a good stable job and is more than happy to fork out for a little game time for me in return for me keeping the place tidy and ensuring the baby doesn't drool on his expensive work computers. For me, FFXIV is partly a way to stay sane as all my long-term friends live a good 1hr car journey away, so it's harder to make time considering I don't drive.
He only has himself to blame though. He's the one who introduced me to MMO's by inviting me to play FFXI on his account. Ahh, nostalgia.
Prostitute.
Video game character animation and AI engineer. I also diagnose hardware/software issues locally. Not really a "job" as I don't ask for money, but hey, if people want to donate/tip I'm not gonna turn them down (any supplemental income is welcomed to keep my FFXIV addiction going).
Musician and Guitar teacher
Pharmacy Technician. I sell drugs.
I'm another software developer, mostly working in C# at an independent software vendor.
I work as a care assistance, specializes in mental health / terminal patients who doesn't want to go into a hospice
Giving this a shameless bump because it has been a while and lots of new people are here that I'm curious about!
The easiest way to describe my job is that I do borderline do the work of a Paralegal without the pretty paycheck to go with it. But it's nice and fairly easy.
im a terrorist working undercover for the kgb lol sorry couldnt resist so many serious people i was studying a games diploma till had a bad few teachers so couldnt finish it hope to in the future im a great coder designer and i can set up web servers blindfolded lol especially unix ones but anyway im on government benefits and i budget my money well
I am a dispatch supervisor for a large beverage company. Basically I manage a team of individuals who work a computer system that schedules service requests for technicians to go fix machines so people can drink sugar water. I am living the dream.
I work as a Coffee machine technician on my days off at uni
I'm a respectable drug dealer. Pays the bills and my sub <3
My official title is "IT Analyst / Project Coordinator" which is a fancy way of saying "the person who translates what the business users need into IT speak, and who translates what IT just screwed up into terms the business can understand."
The coolest part of my job is designing new software alongside the developers. The worst part of my job is the week right after new software comes out trying to figure out what we ducked up.
I'm currently at a three day long work conference at a ski lodge. Been trying to play FFXIV but I keep getting lobby server errors. :(
I work for an after school program. I am also a full time student working towards a degree in psychology (or more so a further degree)
magic. fairy's tears from the great fairy and a pot gold from me job as a leprechaun.

MRI technologist, NBA did not work out.
Energy Manager for a tech college.
Artist/graphic designer.
I'm a student, I get a small allowance from the government, but most of that goes to board and transport, so I'm looking for work at the moment.
ask my mom for cash duh
Distribution Operator for At&t. Aka I play with boxes all day and make forts. Truly a childhood dream.
I currently do temp work. I work a lot of Clinical IT, usually infrastructure implementation. Doctors are frickin hilarious. Also it's pretty much an all-you-can-eat candy buffet as I bounce from doctors office to doctors office. Today I was checking the printer mapping in one location for a software rollout and got to watch a good portion of a cardiac cath operation from the "Control room". Never boring.
Market Price Manager. I ensure pricing integrity and local market competitiveness for a given market of a very large retail company in the U.S. I'll decline to name my employer.
I work nights at a hotel! Its super dead all the time, so unless I am doing homework, I get to game all night, and get paid to do it. :D
I work at family company :)
I am an actor. (not a hollywood superstar mind you, but one of those Joey Tribbiani kind of actors...the broke ones) I also write, mainly short story/plays but working on finishing up my first novel!
My day job is General Manager, I tell people what to do and manage profits; not as fun as the above (more like a Chandler Bing kind of gig)
Also how are these Friends references working for yah... >_>
I'm a student on disability, so my check goes to pay my bills, then this game's sub. No wonder I buy Crysta in multiple months' worth amounts, it lets me focus on needs while keeping connected to the community (and boyfriend) I love so much.
IT technician. Boring as fuck. Looking to join the army and never touch anything computer related as far as professional life is concerned ever again.
I'm a freelance translator.
Yes it means I work in my pajamas and can stay online the whole day if I want and when I'm taking breaks. Right now I've just made a delivery over secure FTP to my client and even though the average office worker are still working, I'm already cracking open snacks and a soft drink getting ready to go online.
Huh? What do you mean it's only a Thursday? To a freelancer everyday's the same.
From my experiences in the military (I come from a country that runs conscription) you'll be sent to do benial computer tasks all day long just because you had the word "computer" in your resume.
Used to be that somewhat important IT/Software programmer in a hospital but currently I'm just a lowbie web programmer working in a small company. They pay okay here in this current company so I get to sub monthly for myself and occasionally a close friend while still able to save up alot, but compare to my previous workplace I'm not so of a significant guy around here, there are hardly any tasks to do here so it feels like a dead-end job for me but hey I can't complain much. At least people won't bother me too much everyday (out of whatever reason) and I get to sneak into the game to do quick dailies/craft/etc while everyone else is away for lunch.
L2 Systems Engineer.... WIntel or something similar.
Used to have a music band at college before, have a dream to be a rock stars and perform at small gig few times, but disband after college because we all move separate way.
I can roll a drums, Slap bass, speed picking a guitar, have a butter finger with keyboard or piano, but my voice is horrible.
At the moment? Retail...
Yeah I play MMOs to escape from reality lol
Currently Quality Assurance for a game company, and UK freelance graphic designer. ^^
I enjoy exploring and relaxing in Eorzea as the time gets pretty late~
