Wat you miss when abandoning leves

Might have missed the "they're going to upgrade the stats on the gear" but from what I read they're going to change the base stat system so the current stats on the current gear that give +1 <whatever> would make a difference unlike now where even +8, say STR, barely does anything. I smell nerf, not you?

If only they would change it so HQ gear would also add +1 <whatever stat> by star or/and give more MP/HP as well.

Take note Raze, the guy can figure out stuff you cannot. Current game isn't even end-game and we're still in the noob times. Go play something else and come back when there will be actual end game. It will give us all a good vacation too.

I'm definitely speculating a bit here. The "Task List" in the letter from the producer vaguely states "Adjustments to the attributes of existing equipment". I took this to mean a buff simply because December gear mostly has terrible stats that are insignificantly higher than the regular mass-produced gear at their rank. By comparison, the more recent mid-rank NMs they added drop gear that's notably better than the common alternatives at their rank, so they changed direction and it sort of makes sense that they'd retroactively apply it to December gear.

Yes, well, they could also mean to change gear like say, the obvious example, Templar hauby, that is barely better than the craftable vintage hauby, which can be even better if you HQ it. Doesn't make much sense to me that a gear that drop more or less commonly is better than something that is supposedly harder to get.

I'll go dig that list, I might have overlooked this entry in the task list.

I sort of follow your "logic", but my point was that new gear should be hard to get because there is nothing else to do, and no one's even going to want to do that unless the gear is worth using (look at templar gear). What gear are you even talking about at cap? Stats on gear are basically useless right now anyway, so they need stuff that has specific +acc, +atk etc.., or change stats' significance. Who said anything about raising the cap anyway? I don't think that's in the immediate future, so something needs to be done about what you can do at 50.

i loved how in ffxi i needed to have a party to grind with...but also hated it too lol

How about this:

When doing a leve, you earn 50% regular SP, 50% "Reserved SP."

The regular SP is rewarded as you take each mob down. The Reserved SP is only awarded upon completion of the leve.

I have to say thats not a bad idea at all.

I remember reading somewhere that SP will be rewarded at the end of the levequests in the near future... I don't for the life of me remember where I read that. Hell it may even be in this thread already. Don't quote me on this but I just heard a rumor... somewhere... sometime... in another dimension!

lol yeah... I saw that mentioned in a thread by another player, it didn't come from the devs. A better solution imo, would be to allow us to choose whatever leves we want instead of a randomly generated list of 3.

cuz you could complete the "old" set every time thats when you get random parties

then you reget them and thats when you are picky about how to do it cuz you wanna fail

We had our first case of some jerkwad spamming that anyone who wanted to join his levelink party had to have double dunesfolks on Wutai. Had to happen some time.

Needless to say we made ****-tons of fun of him in shout. Just absolutely impaled him. Was certainly harassment but don't care.

requiring double dunes for a party is just retarded, even ill say that much

I believe they set up the whole "failed leves will be available next reset" due to the fact players where getting disonnected during a leve and failing it.

not sure if you get the same reward as the previous, anyone know? i dont fail leves, i want the sp and rewards. And i travel around to all cities linking leves with static group so if i dc during a leve i don't pay attention next reset.

Hmm I think it has always been that way, what I think they may have added was the ability to rejoin the leve if you are in a party.

And yes the rewards are the same, though I think you loose trade in boosts (not 100% sure on trade in boosts)

Rejoining leve's im perty sure was always around. But its all fuzzy @.@

hahaha thats great. i remember a long time ago some guy was marking up his shards at some crazy price and shouting to sell them....this is back when there were a shortage of wind shards and the prices were crazy, needless to say a group of people followed him around and just kept harassing him, it was great.
