tweaking what?
a ps3 beta wont be about testing anything but making sure the game actualy works
they arent gonna "test" balancing or game features with it

Unforeseen bugs going by the change of platform, networking issues, downloading of updates, how different PS3 models might handle it differently... there's a lot of unknowns, and after the PC launch, it doesn't hurt to be prepared. Oh, could it take a month or less? Sure. I just wouldn't label taking extra time to prepare "silly" by any means.
It's the same game, and most of the bug fixing and tweaking is being done with the PC version. The console version only had 2 general issues that isn't necessarily game related, 1 of which can be tested through stress tests which historically never lasted long unless the MMO never came to be.
yes, and all that stuff goes under making sure the game is stable
i think alot are expecting the game to go through some kind of "trial" period with its beta to test out new game features and content, which of course thats not what betas are really about anyway(even though people dont seem to realize this)
I'm not involved with the development, so the specific issues they may be facing are more than I know. I will, however, go on record right this moment: the PS3 version will either a) get more than a month beta test (and still may have some PS3-specific issues, not saying a month is enough in itself), or b) get less than a month, and have some PS3-specific issues upon launch.
Anyway, I don't see how that disproves with the idea that taking extra time to be sure you get something right /= silly, which is all I was saying. ;)
and we still dont have a comment from SE/devs or whatever... communication FTW
Why would they comment on unsubstantiated rumors?
I think they'd come out and say it if it were true. Don't expect dev posts on EVERY single topic that pops up.
