Did Garuda HM yesterday (finally!) with a random Jp group that made the fight so straightforward and painless I wondered how any of us ever struggled with it <3 I wasn't so lucky with the DF group after that, but at least now I know that I'm not some terrible millstone around the party's neck :)

I'd been trying to complete Praetorium for the first time, with the last group I was in falling apart at the last boss. So this time I clicked the 'group in progress' option and was put in dungeon in about 5 minutes... to find a group of just 2 tanks sitting at the entrance. Apparently the first 6 other members of the group had ALL QUIT when both the tanks said they were new. I decided to stay since with two tanks there, I'd probably save more time than leaving and requeuing.
Why the DF will trickle in new players to an in-progress dungeon is beyond me, but other DPS started to enter one by one and we just started pulling with a SMN healing, with two healers miraculously appearing before the first boss. The group was very chatty and friendly and the tanks' sad story was told to everybody that entered, but no one left. We one shot the entire instance too, it was very gratifying.

I remembered seeing this thread and had to track it down because of the last Ifrit run I did a few minutes ago.
While doing Ifrit hard for a friend, our duty finder group ran into a few issues. I decide to stun (since I trust myself) and let the other guy tank. People are stunning the boss leading to eruptions, people are getting hit by the charge, not enough DPS on the nails etc. The other tank dies a couple times as well, and eventually he starts to rage out. His response, of course, is to pull the boss to the group and frontal them over and over until someone leaves. He does this twice, at which point I inform the people I'm in Skype with that I'll be tanking the boss. Since I have superior gear (and, frankly, I am better), it is no real problem to keep hate off him. In frustration, the Paladin kills himself and begins to insult the group from the ground. I proceed to tank the whole boss fight from top to bottom, not throttling anyone's DPS and grabbing every single stun necessary. We beat him in that one attempt I decided to stop the other tank, much to the delight of our fine group.
It was a pretty fun win. It felt amazing to protect my party and immediately change the situation from a wipe to a nearly flawless victory on my own power.

I've had good DF experiences on the storyline instances I've done so far (last one was Ifrit - I havent had much play time lately), I tend to select all Language Groups and get a good mix :D
Me and a RL friend did Ifrit normal with two DF randomers last week on his first run, it was fun :) Sure we got wiped a couple times but no-one got angry and started shouting if anything we laughed and tried again. Think we went through two groups in the end as one guy decided to try with another team but even he/she laughed said good luck and cya later.
We got a 3 person photo from first group who we had a laugh with and one from the winning battle - If you see your character in there: Thanks to all it was fun at least, and isnt that the point of a videogame to be fun :D

That accidently trying to comfort Ifrit emote (got my hotkeys mixed) got us roaring :p

Farming ToPs to finish my relic quest, dealing with mostly ok groups and a few baddies. Joined a CM in progress because I got my ToMs capped. They said the previous tank was one of "those" people and the healers left with him. Awesome group had fun joking around while we finished the run quickly they even let me have my fairy solo heal the first phase of the last boss for funzies. Too bad they were not on my server or I'd have some new friends ^^
Sadly, that is my only really positive DF story =( if only we could be nice and have fun together. Oh how I will remember the wonderful times of late night puns and pet fairy trashing.

I went through a dungeon earlier today, and met someone randomly through Duty Finder who had already done it, knew what they were doing, and patiently assisted us all in knowing how to handle it. then it happened again!
I could also tell you about a completely sub-human jerk I met, but grown-ups don't go to online forums to whine about nonsense; they get over it and move on.

My first garuda battle where there were two people who explained the fight. We wiped twice but we laughed about it
we -almost- wiped the third time and it went something like this
"I got you *insert summoner name I can't remember here*. Wait, wasn't I not supposed to do s-*slipstream* OH GOOD SWEET MARY JESUS IT BURNS"

I've been doing Stone Vigil a lot, most of the runs have been good. I went through there the other day, got to the last boss and both dps died from the ice. I felt bad because I was out of range and wasn't able to get to them in time. I tried my best to raise them, but EVERY time they'd accept it, they'd die instantly from the AoE. I was sure we were going to wipe, but after probably the 7th raise the DRG managed to run out of the AoE and LB. We won! It was actually really funny, raising them only to watch them drop again a second later. Luckily I was on my SCH, there's no way I could have pulled it off as a WHM.
Everyone was so nice, not every DF group ends badly :P

When i am in DoW/DoM play mode i run all instances on my server to make sure the lower levels and new players get the stupid mechanic out of the way. 1 in 10 groups is really bad, the rest are rather able players.
