The first PvP event is a simple 4v4 or 8v8 last-team-standing arena battle. It will be coming in patch 2.1 (And it was tested during beta phase 4 by Legacy players)
There will be special skills in PvP (In addition to, not instead of normal skills), usable in PvP only designed to help with the balance and facilitate dealing with typical behaviors in PvP. There will be rewards and stuff.
You can visit the PvP lobby area right now, it's accessed by a boat in Costa Del Sol. There is an Aetheryte there, so if you're interested in PvP, you may want to attune to that crystal before PvP launches- That will be where you collect your rewards and unlock the arena for the first time).
btw, that leo armor is perfect for cat guys and girls everywhere :p
I wonder how long after the wolves' den / floating colosseum it will be before frontlines comes out.
I don't look down on PVPers, in fact it's the other way around that gets me. The elitist pricks that think just because they could go toe-to-toe with X class that they are the penultimate player. But, see, here I don't care. It's been verified over and over that the PVP aspect of XIV is completely separate from the core game, even more so than it was in XI, which is fine by me. I never have to look at it in any point of my time in XIV, which is something that can't be said of a vast majority of PVP enabled MMOs. Have your fun PVPers, I hope it's everything you were looking for.
well, not exactly. There will be gear rewards, unlike XI which gave you shit for participating, and therefore intrest in participation vanished pretty quickly. However, there is one special stat for PvP, so PvP gear is likely to have this instead of one of the other stats people want for PvE so it won't be as good for PvE as it is for PvP.Quote:
