[suggestion] Add more personalization and other details about Path Companions

AMAZING IDEA!!! I agree with everything said here. This would make everything about FFXIV better, quests, lvl'ing, solo'ing, low-manning, add in ROMANCE and SE will have won my heart.

This would be awesome, and I have to say that the OP summed up what I was hoping this system would be when I first heard of it brilliantly. I think the romance part would be an especially neat twist, and would definitely make you care about them a little more than currently.

Actually....even with romance I'm pretty sure watching my lancer companion run in circles while I get stomped would make me wish for their death. ^_^;

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I kind of liked the mi'quote personality, but I really couldn't stand the looks both of the keeper of the sun and the keeper of the moon provided (seriously, some of the selection-only NPCs are really, really badly designed, it goes for both retainers and path companions, for some reasons), so I had to revert to a hyur.

The ability to customize the path companion would remove the problem at the root.
