i pass from 2.47s~ to 2.02s~ with GLIII, it's enough for me. with AFv2 Armor, i'm gonna be down 1.xx probably, it's to fast to me in my opinion, my fingers are hurts lol.

I like the combat JUST the way it is now. So please do not count me as one of the socalled "WE" you speak of.
Going from 1 sec global cooldown to this does feel like it plays on snail mode.
Though I think if they just fixed the responsiveness it would feel 'fast'.
The game plays very sluggish with most of it being server side.

I don't want combat to be super fast paced. Plus with the longer gcd I think making mistakes is punished a bit more and that really adds something. I think what they have now is a perfect balance.
I never liked the "new" battle system ever since I got into Alpha Test 1. After playing with it since then, it feels a lot better than it used to.. Although I still feel 1.23's battle system was superior. To make the new system much more sweeter, I think more abilities need to be OFF the GCD.
They added Skill/Spell Speed into the game in order to lower your GCD, but currently the stat is so fucking poor and the break points so high its useless. I imagine they did this so that you couldn't reach absurdly low GCD's before the next expansion.
Unfortunately the slow GCD takes all skill out of this game. You always know whats the best thing to do because the game gives you a million years to make the decision. Too bad, really.
I wonder if they will make monsters that spam abilities as fast as players can -- that would give a real boost to the combat pace !
