All I can read is "MY VIDEO GAME DOESN'T WORK AND I'M GONNA BE SO UPSET UNTIL IT WORKS!"

I love how quick people are to forget this is a business. And a letter doesn't fix issues the game is having that prevent new/returning players from playing. Meanwhile, the Japanese servers are having no issues and NA/EU should be quiet about being punished? I'm not saying they aren't working on it but don't make a letter celebrating the moment when you have so much to fix.
Every fiber of me was disappointed with the Beta 4 and Early Access. Everything from how it was handled, to the lack of communication during Early Access (they told us to flock to social media, yet they didn't update their Twitter until after EA was almost over), and I don't like how Square Enix isn't transparent with their actions and decisions.
That being said,
I fully acknowledge that this is the beginning of the game. MMOs have these sort of issues, and if they continue to work towards and fix all the server problems, I'll be happy. The game itself is fine (thank God for that), and everything Yoshida implemented to make this game a fluid, fun, and attractive game gets my 100% approval. Call the apologies a cop-out, but the emotion behind what he does is real, and I'm hoping that transpires to new and innovative expansions in our near future.
Good job, Yoshida -- I hope you continue your passionate work on FFXIV, and that the servers are fixed soon.
Agreed man. Its a shame most of the people posting in here think the world and everything in it happens in a bubble where things never go wrong. I hope none of them ever finds themselves in a position of leadership, but sadly that's not the world we live in. Cowards and children never realize that hard work is a virtue unto itself. Must be nice having everything handed to them their whole life.
other then the server issues the game is fun hard it got the better it got.
I think he can rest easy about the game bringing shame to the company. Launch issues and some game issues aside, this is a quality title that the company can be proud of. I don't know if its the best MMO in the market, but its a good one, and it brings back the aura of Final Fantasy that is all too often lost in ther recent single player titles.
I watched the video earlier, and I got a little choked up. When I get on here and I look for answers to my issues (error codes a what not), I often found most crying havoc and letting slip the dogs of war. The angry mob was formed and demanded satisfaction, and I won't lie, I found myself swept up in the mass like most others. When I saw that video though, I instantly felt a great deal of shame for not appreciating this man and his crew's hard work. I realized that I had felt those same tears before. They were tears of stress. Tears that are brought on by overwhelming odds that only you can bare, and what's worse the moment something goes wrong, the people you are trying to please turn against you like a pack of wolves. I'm sorry, but I too have been given a pile of shit before and been told, "Now make it diamonds." I hope someone else out there feels the same as I do.
