Increase the size of the summers Egi's. (yes this again)

Bull. That's because you're in arcanist starting zone where everyone is an arcanist and trying it out for the first time.

Doesn't follow. At all. So if the summons in FF14 are even 2 inches taller it somehow upsets some cosmic balance. Naw.

If FFT can work in multiple summoners and allowing any character to be a summoner then ARR can make the ARR summons a little bigger and still keep lore in tact fine.

I rather enjoy the build of what they are now, having seen and played with them in the game, I'm actually more firm in my stance that they should not be changed.

The size of the Egi's really need to be smaller than that of another average player body, Llalafells notwithstanding. At this point, many of the Egis are actually in a good place size wise, and messing with the size further is going to create even more balance/priority issues where there are already those clamoring for a filter to shut off pets.

In the end this is one extreme of an argument, when the median is that the Egis are fine as they are.

THIS IS NOT THE SUMMON! Only its essence. We will still get to summon the full blown Primal as a FC later on. Keep your epeen in your pants....

I say keep the Egis as they are. Increasing the size would prove hectic in large scale/pvp situations.

I think they should let us upgrade them at higher levels or the very least make future ones resemble the primals a little more. After all it stands to reason as a summoner gets stronger he could summon more of the essence of primals.

Lore excuses aside (clearly no matter if the egi size is increased it's smaller than the primal so it's still just 'essence'), there are multiple ways SE could accomodate large egis.

Let players toggle other player summons/companions/minions to have a transparency slider.
Keep the egi hitbox the same and make it a pure model increase.
Change draw priority to enemy > priority npc > party pc > party summon > non party pc > non priority npc > non party summon
Etc.

Any opposition to this is purely opinion, which is fine if you like them being small, but pretending there is an immovable lore or graphical reason for a small egi is silly since there are options that can be provided to alleviate those issues.

At first I did think it would be a good idea to have them bigger and was angry that they were so small (see my signature), but after playing with ifrit he really isn't that much stronger than the blue carby to be honest, so unless they plan to make it worth our time as a summoner to have a big summon i'd rather them stay all puny if they are just going to be weakly attacking stuff while I DOT them. To be honest the entire summon class seems ridiculous to me so far, we are simply a DOT class, i mean that isn't really a bad thing, but calling us summoners is a huge far cry from the truth when the summons don't appear and start really effing stuff up. I would have assumed initially that as a summoner my DOT stuff would be secondary and controlling my summon would be my primary functionality...nope.

Just out of curiosity, how come carby doesn't have an eggi version? Also, I think all these eggi issues can be solved by:

1. Keep the regular size eggis during normal fights or party/dungeon battles
2. Let out a more complete summon during major battles or maybe a major summon every hour or 2 hrs like in ffxi.

With all due respect, so does any suggestion that adds to character creation, armor styles, general colors...in this game, cosmetic suggestions are just as valid as any other suggestion. If you're going to play a job for 50 levels wanting it look 'cool' to you is important. The texture and details are pretty sad, honestly. The FFXI avatars (ignoring size completely) have more detail then these...and this should be a beautiful brand new engine.

Regardless, people will never agree with this. I'm sort of just waiting for the opportunity to .dat mod with at least bigger egi's. That way I can get the effect I've always wanted and people who disagree can keep their baby-spirit-thingies.
