Unfortunately, that sort of reaction is always going to happen. Not everyone knows how to go about expressing their feedback. As the artist, you also have to interpret that and not take it personal. "Well he just said I'm stupid. I know I am not stupid, but still, his reaction to my work was negative". Now if its just one or two people calling my work or me stupid, then I won't give it much thought. But when the majority are expressing a similar negative reaction, either by constructive feedback or actually saying "god you're horrible, go die in a fire", in the end it'll all mean the same. The work failed to reach the intended audience, or the work failed to express what was intended.

It's not to say I condone the use of such comments, but not everybody knows how to play nice, especially on the internet where their faces are hidden behind a monitor. Just have to roll with it sometimes. And believe me, I've been making art for years, I've had some pretty nasty stuff flung at me. But if I spent time spewing derogatory condescending remarks at all those people for not "understanding" me, then I wouldn't have enough time to keep making art. xD

A lot of people would do well to take a few pages out of Seraphe's book. If you don't like what someone is posting, just ignore them. I, personally, have never really had a problem with the things Zehira has been posting. I actually like Zehira, strangely enough. I do agree that she veered this thread to the extremes of off-topic. With that said, I also agree that the various people spouting abusive comments, to her and to others, as well as the numerous asinine disagreements appearing here and there...these things, too, have helped to take this thread away from its original purpose.

I keep coming back to this thread hoping we will return to some semblance of hilarity, minus the villainous backtalk. This hasn't happened yet (the humor is there, but the heart is not).

If need be, a thread can be created for the comedic posts unrelated to FFXIV, if only to quell the monsters within our hearts. :(

If I felt like bothering, I could also write up a wall of text about how you're immature for stalking the forums just so you can post completely irrelevant, unintelligible responses to people who weren't talking to you in the first place. How about that? That could be fun, hm?

Zehira, you're another one that needs to learn not to take things so personally.

You have to accept the fact that not everyone is going to like Haruhi. It's just an anime. Yes its something special to you, but you cannot expect others to feel the same way about a cartoon character. By throwing her image into debates and what not, you invite the hostility, and if you can't take the reactions, don't post her except in calm, fun situations.

And as for roleplaying, if you want to roleplay Haruhi, this isn't really the venue to do it. Unless you made an XIV, miqo'te version of her, or female midlander or something, then your best bet is to RP Haruhi in the appropriate areas: anime boards, Haruhi boards etc. Not on an XIV forum.

And I mean that with the best of intentions. Not trying to pick on you.
