If Spearfising Gone.... Spearfishing Achievements Gone?

anyway, some other secondary tool function is most likely going to take its place eventually (since secondary tools aren't going away), we shall see what it is in time.

I'm concerned that the list of removed achievements in ARR has been published twice and this hasn't been mentioned at all until it pops up on the Japanese forums. Takes a playerbase-created thread and discussion for a dev to stop by and confirm it, offhandedly. Wondering what the next surprise is...

Square-Enix, you need to give people adequate notice if you are removing these things, since some of them take a considerable amount of time to do and not everyone has all day to dedicate to this. We appreciate you're busy working on ARR, but please give us a heads-up. That's all we ask.

You've gotten a heads up. The list has been posted, it has been updated once, and Camate just let you know it will be updated again. What more do you want?

Unfortunately, plans change sometimes and thus there's no way to know about these things until they happen. Maybe next week they'll decide to remove behest from the game, and people are going to complain that they don't have enough notice to complete those achievements even though it's already basically impossible to do so in the amount of time we have left. Honestly, there's no skin off your back if an unachievable achievement gets removed....

Even if you're really hardcore about achievements, I don't understand how this can upset people this much. Just accept that they're being removed and use the time to work towards another achievement you haven't done yet. You are NOT going to be able to achieve every achievement before 1.0 shuts down- That's just impossible. (100 million gil from enemies? 10k behests? If you have achieved these, I'll give you a medal myself.)

A Challenger Approaches...

Some RMT might have those behest achievements =p

The concern they have isn't about completing every achievement before 1.xx ends. Some of the levequest achievements actually take years of constant levequesting to complete. However, there is time to finish the ones that are going away, provided you are informed about them more than a few days before they shut the servers down.

I thought I stated what I wanted, which is more of a heads-up for what we are getting removed. Plans change, but at this late stage, they shouldn't change that much.
