The reason he wants momentum is to avoid unnatural looking jump spamming.
He's not against jump, he wants it to look better.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but you won't turn the tide.
Jump is perfectly fine without timers or delay.
You are wasting your time. As many said before, you are just beating a dead horse.
But just for the sake of it (you took the time to write the post, after all), I'm officially adding my voice to the horde of people who completely disagree with you.
If you want to play a game without jump, try chess... oh wait, you have to lift the pieces. It looks totally unnatural since they are made of wood and we all know trees don't jump.
Just deal with it then? :/
I spent money on the game expecting them to finally have a FF MMO with a new "modern" engine contain jump since I mean a psp ff game like Dissidia can add it. Just saying I was hoping that they would add some more realism to the play experience, seeing jumping in cs's and by npc's and here we are these amazing heroes that can do anything and we are grounded. I just like to jump because I for one even in real life, because I can. Jump over obstacles in my way or for the hell of it, because I can, why must I not be able to do it in a game? Because some few say it is "unrealistic"? I agree though this has been beating a rotting smelling horse. We are getting jumping, it is now part of the dynamic new world and the world knows it, so for SE to go back in now and change it back to no jumping would ruin any chance of them ever getting new players in the future.
The whole reason he wants the minor lag is because it looks wrong to him.Quote:
Watching the gameplay videos that have thus far been released, every time someone jumped for no real reason other than simply for the sake of jumping it felt out of place in the general aesthetic of final fantasy games. Especially when the lalafells jumped, the relative height of their jump compared to their body height was really jarring to look at for me.
He doesn't want to stop you from jumping. He wants a minor momentum lag to prevent spamming and keep it natural looking while still being a viable option for gameplay or recreation.Quote:
Nothing major, maybe only slowing you down by a tiny fraction after a jump. But however minor, it would prevent people from jumping constantly for the sake of jumping while traveling places, and only jumping to clear obstacles that would offer shorter pathing.
Let's talk about grass. It sure is getting tall.
Does it really bother you that much that you want to control how others play?
