You're talking to a brick wall. All they care about is EX, Savage and Ult. Everything else isn't 'real content.' I'd suggest to stop wasting your breath.

Yeah not gonna lie there's a nice healthy medium that you can achieve between..
Speed of mechanics, and length of fight without turning it into a wipe fest...
Nier is really disgusting to play in this regard... Everything takes forever to start, the mechanics are so incredibly spread, that you may as well pop some Netflix on another screen and pretend like you're actually giving a care, especially since Nier takes an age to finish. It's borderline Runescape-levels of brain AFK
Ivalice from my experience is just a smidge shorter, but the mechanics are so much better spread out, and the likelihood in wiping is about no higher than something like World of Darkness or Dun Scaith.
I would actually like to see a return to more Ivalice-paced content to be honest... HW alliance raids on-expansion were also really enjoyable too.
I actually don’t understand why you have a such a strong objection to the idea that content should be fun no matter what it’s relative difficulty level is and there is massive game wide benefits to making people who do extreme and savage WANT to do casual content
I know they said they want to respect players’ real-life time, and I understand that goal.
But so far, the solution has mostly been extremely straightforward, braindead dungeons and heavily nerfed alliance raids. I think there’s a better middle ground.
A dungeon doesn’t always have to be “3 bosses and 2 packs of trash mobs betwen”, and alliance raids shouldn’t be bosses with so little HP that we skip every interesting mechanic that originally made the fights fun. There should still be some danger, some pressure, and a real possibility of wiping if mechanics are ignored.
Even after running an alliance raid for the 100th time, I still want to feel engaged. I want to pay attention, dodge mechanics, and actually play the game instead of half-AFK auto-piloting through content with zero tension.
A lot of the current playerbase also never experienced these raids when they originally released. It would be nice if newer players could experience them closer to their intended difficulty and pacing, instead of steamrolling everything in silence in 15 minutes.
I think the new “Advanced” mode for Savage in Evercold is a good idea to help teach players how to improve. But regular group content doesn’t need to be kept reduced to pure casual faceroll content either. A little danger and pressure is healthy for an MMO, and honestly, it’s one of the best ways for players to naturally improve over time.
And what if content is harder? People can ask friends for help. That’s part of what an MMO is supposed to be.
Nowadays, a lot of players just log in, queue through DF or PF, clear content as fast as possible, and leave. The social aspect has faded a lot. FCs, helping each other, learning together, overcoming content as a group — that used to be a huge part of MMOs.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been playing MMOs since the late 90s, but I really feel like we lost some of that spirit in XIV over the years. The game feels increasingly designed around fast solo-friendly consumption instead of meaningful multiplayer interaction.
Trusts are great for MSQ dungeons and story accessibility, but I don’t think the game as a whole should lean further into becoming a mostly solo experience.
So honestly, yes — I’d absolutely support alliance raids being restored closer to their original difficulty and duration.
I think at the bare minimum you should get to see Glasya Labolas platforms, as I understand it even at the time this got skipped a lot, when I got to do it MINE we still had to hold our damage a little to see it
I feel bad for King Thordan. Imagine being an end boss of an expansion main launch and you weren't even good on launch, never mind the joke he became at the end of the expansion and beyond.
They all need looked at for 8.0 because once we get our full kits these lads are going down instantly.
thinking about it is weird. i did the crystal tower raids like two years ago synched on minilvl... and we saw less mechanics than what i remember from the dayli roulettes back in 3.x
From what I remember -- Yeah you will experience weird things like this where Minimum Item Level post-SB would be quicker than ARR/HW roulettes... Just because on Stormblood we had a few stats which were deprecated into something else... E.g., Accuracy -> Direct Hit... and Parry -> Tenacity.... A lot of people also weren't clued up back then, so you would have a lot of people running a lot more accuracy than what was needed.
The coolest part of Aglaia is when Nald'thal summons thralls and then does their Limit Break, and I never see it now.
This but also lota and sycrus are long overdue for a rework especially lota
Alot of MSQ trials need to be touched up a bit
Nabrialis,thordon,nidhogg and shinryu,
not just mechanically little more interesting but just more cinematic and enjoyable experience
Like Shinryu should have voice acting and it just feels odd that you don't see nidhogg go from Dragoon mode to red angry dragon mode he just shows up.
