I really hope they don't put this game on Switch 2. Switch 2 is about as good as a ps4 in hardware so its going to strangle out the hope of getting anything cool like actual capes or anything wildly different from what we have now.

Yeah, it definitely does sound like it's only a matter of time before it happens given the responses YoshiP keeps giving when asked about it.. but I'm still not sure it's a great idea. I know that people like to bring out the whole "But it's basically the same hardware strength as a PS4, and there's already a PS4 version!" line but bear in mind that the PS4 version came out, what, over a decade ago now? This would essentially be the same as there never having been a PS4 version before and them just releasing a PS4 version now. As much as you may want to say that the PS4 version isn't holding the game back at all now (and a Sw2 version also wouldn't hold the game back), is that really going to still be the case in 8.0 or 9.0?
Im curious if it gets ported to the switch, and the switch is roughly the same power of a Ps4...how long is the Ps4 version going to be in service? because this puts a lot of the predicted timescales of DT being the last Ps4 expac into doubt..
It looks like SE is going to accept two different graphic fidelity levels to maintain the PS4 and Switch 2 editions. Functionally they will be the same but PS5 and PC editions will get the graphics updates.
For SE, the Switch 2 edition is critical as many players play mobile games on trains and in subways. Some JP players commute 1 to 2 hours each way so a mobile version is a must.
The Switch 2 edition will allow players to be mobile and play the main game and not the cell phone edition which requires restarting and loosing everything.
For player growth or at the very least, retention, tie Switch 2 is critical for SE. they will make it happen, one way or another in 8.0.
I personally really want this, the steamdeck is really heavy for my girlfriend and the switch 2 is just right for her for when she needs to play when not at home and this would be life changing for her.

Streets are saying we'll get confirmation soon?
I'd be surprised for it to run very well on switch 2, but there is a good amount of cozy gamers on that platform so if they could improve housing systems and other such things we could see a nice community come in via switch.
I don't think bringing the game out on the Switch 2 is a good idea. The consoles a PS4 Pro at best, and as the devs have stated before, they said in the end the PS4 would have to be dropped to move the game forward. But bringing the Switch 2 here would just be bringing back the "PS3 Limitations" meme once more.
Only way I can see to avoid that is the Switch 2 version being its own client and on its own servers
