Furthering this question if the community somehow came to a conclusion on day one iconic job per role that was not allowed to have any entry barriers then are the other jobs fair game? I mean you deride SMN as an uncool job yet you praised when it got simplified. Can I have old SMN back because it’s not a cool job? Can we make PCT gigabrain? Can I have 6 dots back on SCH?

Because right now your opinion seems to be “BLM has to be easy because it’s iconic and cool………but uncool jobs have to be easy as well because…….”

If every job had to be easy because difficulty should be on the encounter design or some such why even bother arguing about cool or uncool jobs when the concept is subjective anyway

Just ignore me then lol what are you even on about? Just because I express opinions that you disagree with, doesn't mean I'm not contributing meaningfully to these discussions. Look at the past two posts those remarks were made in response to. They deserved nothing more than petty attacks and had no relevance in this conversation to begin with. If you're gonna try to derail the subject with personal attacks, fine, nobody cares. Don't complain when you get what you dish out in return.

I do know what I am talking about though, as the game is always heading in the direction that I talk about.

I read the discussion, people asked you questions in expecting an answer to properly explain and justify your stance. No one "dished" at you. If you feel attacked it's a personal problem because your can't distinguish criticism of your opinion over yourself as a person.

Your answers are also unhelpful such as "they are always going to simplify", the argument being made isn't whether they are or not, it is that we want them to stop, and leave some level of complexity, how else are we to tell developers what we want out of the game other than to provide feedback through official forums instead we are getting told to shut up and embrace it by the likes of you who had no stake in this game in the first place, as it doesn't look like you do meaningful content at all in the first place.

Have you levelled BLM since you have returned? It sure doesn't look like it.

I understand that feeling and it does make sense if you look at one part of the changes, but the culmination of all of the simplifications in this expac makes me feel differently, between the shorter casts (which by default would make enochian timer more forgiving as a stand alone change), the increase in amount of instants (paradox at the start, then despair later, both ease the enochian timer) and the infinite duration of buffs (again as stand alone would have greatly eased the timer on enochian), they already shifted into a way too far revamp in over simplification. But then no more enochian timer and then you ask why were the other changes even necessary?

It "feels" to me like they came up with a handful of simplification ideas from different members of the team, each would have have helped in play in a better balance as a standalone buff, but they implemented them all and now I feel it's too much.

You bring up a lot of good points and I think this is a really good argument in support of the changes, which personally I really enjoyed.

Play it more after the update to have a taste.

As someone who never main a BLM and never use BLM in high end content. I got a very mix feeling about it.

Fear of dropping the timer and subsequently being punished hard is one of the main reasons I do not bring BLM in high end content as I really dislike the idea of memorising the fight. After the update I feel it lacking something. It does seem to attract more players to BLM though.

I think I would prefer the timer back, I honestly quite like the shorter cast time, I always play a bit greedy and sometimes the lag spike at the worst moment cost me dearly.

My biggest issue is where the direction of boss fight going. The change in BLM hints the boss fight going more toward memories game with fast DDR elements in it rather than the more boss did this player have to do that type and avoid X in the process of reactionary boss fight we had in early FFXIV. (EW post 6.0 content already shifting into that first memory fight direction)

So back to the topic would I unsub due to the change of BLM? BLM was a fun job I enjoy the change did remove some level of fun but there are many other job I enjoy as well. If I am going to unsub (not a break) it would be the future boss fight mechanic. My longest break was back in ARR where Titan Hard and Ninja need almost perfect timing to able to play, and if the future boss fight is heading that direction I will take a very long break
