Before I started unsubbing this year I played the game all evening evening. I never seemed to be geared like savage raiders. I never seemed to have the Gil they all had. They all had their crafters levelled and I was still doing DT MSQ. (Two weeks solid play) Wtf is going on.

A full set of roulettes is about 50,000 Gil as a baseline, add in AIN and you get another 50-75,000 then add in rolling on everything else and selling the seal products you can easily make close to 200k per day just running roulettes and rolling on stuff and selling the products doesn’t even need the roulettes if you wanna farm more
Crafting isn’t hard just use craftingway to make the craft for you, it’s not an add on it’s a website that checks your attributes and makes a recipe for you, if you oppose that from a game purity perspective then I don’t know what to tell you. It’s literally the most legal thing possible, it spits out a macro, the game has macro support, when I played on console I typed in those macros letter by letter on a Bluetooth keyboard? Don’t act like that’s an illegal add on
Bunnies in eureka can make you millions of gold in an hour and you spend 80% of it AFK. You can do the same reflecting sprites in Bozja or running other fragment groups. Hell even running things like dal can get you rare fragments like lost excellence.
Bicolour gems can be a fantastic source of money because a lot of housing items like the purple trees from Lakeland sell for a lot considering how easy they are to obtain
Run retainers, coffers regularly award dyes that sell for a lot, open 20-30 coffers and you’ll get at least one jet black/pure white
Like there is so so many options for collecting Gil even passively, if you don’t want to engage with it then you can’t complain that you never have any money -

Also you don't need to even learn crafting to make gil. Just become a gatherer and no-brain it. You can get 330k an hour from basic mats or you can make about 400-500k with mount tokens and materia. 100 hours and you're good to go.

I do manage inventory. But how does that get me Gill?. I put something up for 800gil, next day I come back and market is down to 90gil and hasn't sold.
There seems to be more than one XIV game being played and I seem to be playing the wrong one.

You do realize there's a trial synthesis feature and in-game progress calculator if you're such a gameplay purist for whatever reason, right? I just read what each actions does, fire up the trial synthesis and make my own macro. Anybody can do that.
People also underestimate the amount of gil they amass from just playing dailies. Of course, it wouldn't be surprising that some remained broke because they simply do not play the game or have terrible spending habit, or combination of both. -

Again bozja. I dont remember it earning me any money back when I did it just before EW came out. And it was dead last time I went in (during DT with a friend, who's now unsubbed)
Roulettes isn't nearly enough to buy crafted gear for raiding. Not nearly. Roulettes for a week won't even but you one piece of gear back when savage was first coming out. I was playing the game constantly and really enjoying it. Looking forward to DT and being caught up and ready to try savage for first time. Turned out I wasn't ready and now that's that.
Right now the only content that's fun is extremes. But practing Extremes gets you 'zero' Gil. Zero. Not joining farm parties. Mostly moody speed run A holes. Wood that get me much Gil even if I did.
Chaotic . Well at the moment that is not getting me any gil.
No I dont expect anyone to feel sorry for me. Certainly not. If the game isn't for me I just shouldn't play. (And today my sub runs out! Thanks Chaotic PF for helping me with that decision. Such a shame. Chaotic DF/RF was loads of fun. PF attitude sucked though)
But there are a lot of people who are clueless about how much Gil is worth if you are just a casual gamer who wants to play however you want, but the one thing left to you is your RP and your glam 'which you are passionate about'. And your being cut out of that *by the high end scene* yet again. It's all about the high end.

For roulettes if you do them consistently then you will have the money by the time savage roles around.
