[2024.09.28] Live letter wishlist

NPC romance system. :P

In all seriousness, I'd like the following:
- hints of the story coming in 7.1
- hints of the story in the XI alliance raids
- first beast tribe reveal
- more info on how the planetary exploration system is going to work
- something (anything) about beastmaster
- info about the large-scale instanced content we're supposed to be getting
- some decent glam gear
- glamour dresser updates (more plates would be nice)
- improvements to apartments
- alt characters share housing with main (just put alts on your friend list automatically tbh)
- decouple the fc workshop from housing (put an entrance at Cid's workshop or something)
- sidequests where we get closer to the Scions and work with them on their personal issues

Probably not going to get a lot of that, but hey, the thread is asking for a wishlist, not something realistic

Criterion is not that hard (yet still savage level more or less), it should drop i730 gear (without weap) with others substats
Criterion Savage is harder than savage to my mind, so it should drop i735 weap with others stats ? (yet still the savage weapon is bis stats)

maybe put some i735 left side/accessories gear in criterion savage ? so you have to do it a few weeks in order to get "bis bis" for the upcoming ultimate, but it will be released 7.25/7.45/7.55

We already have the infrastructure for an underwater 8v8 PvP game where your targeting the goal rather than killing players.

We can even divide the roles of tank/DPS/healer into Defender/Fielder/Goalkeeper for queuing purposes.

Like literally just jury rig rival wings code and plop it into an underwater space with blitzball specific player actions.

Would it need adjustments and thought to design and balance? Absolutely but I despise this idea that blitzball is too much of an ask when we just had a PvP rework last expansion.

Unless your asking for AI soccer manager blitzball which lets be honest, nobody wants or needs anyway

Alright, don't know about you, but I'm absolutely 100% sure I don't want to play that, and I played a lot of Blitzball in X. Post like yours just reinforcement my point about I think people really underestimate the kind of work going into creating new system.

It's just about creating a Blitzball game, it's about creating a Blitzball that's interesting enough for people to play.

Honestly, at this point I'm just looking foward to new alliance raid, glamours and hairstyles. I don't expect healers or the 7.0 MSQ to be addressed more than throwaway "we're (not) listening to your feedback" comments.

I'd like them to announce the game will be playable in the near future.

The gearing system in XIV is very boring and linear and it won't ever change. It's standard in all MMOs that bis gear drops from the raids, the one thing XIV isn't is unique.
We won't get Gordian/Diadem 2.0 so idk why people will ever argue that critieon will do this. The most we can expect from critieon is for it to drop tomestone enhancing items, I highly highly doubt we will get alternative bis gear from it ever.

Well I think that a hard content should give good gear, and the bis should be a mix of criterion/savage/tomes (for example)

Yet I dont really think that you can have a "not boring" gearing system , you can just add farming/stats optimization/mandate people to do all content, and neither of those are fun to me (yet I just play ff14/wow and tried lost ark)

I dont know how to make a gearing system not boring, but I still think that hard content=good gear, it should be applied to criterion

I can tell you're of an optimistic sort.

Increase garden limit or bigger garden items that combine a few things together i.e 3 garden plots made into 1 item, longer paths, bushes etc.
Increase glamour plates
Redesign housing (instanced maybe)
Increase indoor furniture limit
Increase weekly drop/tome limit
Buff damage to mobs, add status ailments that need removed, add enhancement spells. Hell anything that starts to give healers more of a purpose.
