Oh Im sure people are reading it.
I read it. But I think he has me blocked because he didnt like that I didnt just agree with his ideas: as flawed as they were.
So Im under no obligation to really say anything or share my thoughts, because I know it wont get read, and he wont care. Often he doesn't participate unless you agree with him anyway. so...yeah.
I'm not much happier with XIV than you are, but let's not kid ourselves.
Eorzea as a world is actually creative and built with passion. Valisthea is the most bland, uninspired setting ever conceived in the Final Fantasy franchise. It could have been AI generated for how generic medieval fantasy land it looks. Absolutely nothing stands out until literally the final field area.
Oh but they have giant crystals in a few locations and people use tiny crystals as fantasy alexas, so I guess it's totally creative. Nevermind. Nevermind.
I skimmed it, but "reimagining" a 10 year old MMO into a FF16 Prequel is just such a far fetched idea there is not much I could do with it.
An amusing "what if" scenerio though. I realize I don't have to be in this thread, so appreciate the effort to give something to think about.
Edit: Just noticed he wrote some lore for the jobs. Will check that out later for the entertainment value.
A fitting "Welcome Home" to the forums lol.
I'd like to think they took some of my critical feedback to heart. More quotes. Longer posts. Edits...it's almost there!
As usual, there are some big Flaws in his ideas and writing.
But again since he wont care to hear them, Im not obligated to share my thoughts, and honestly I dont care to, as I can accept this is just his Preference of World and Lore. Hes made it very clear several times over in his many threads about what kind of Fantasy Setting he Prefers, and references the same type of settings and stories he likes and wants.
Heavensward Medieval Dark & Gritty
Not entirely sure why an entirely new mmorpg would have to be made given how this game has the ability to write in other worlds into it. We're already able to visit the game essentially in different states of time due to 'reasons' so.....
Whilst I am not getting into the drama of OP or the guy after him
Is problematic content that would probably not make it past the censors. Your game content is in fact in direct violation of the UN Charter of Human Rights...I wont bother discussing what impact the negative publicity alone will have.Quote:
Loosely based off the quest for the Holy Grail.
Slavery, forced branding, a caste system akin to mediaeval thralldom would never let this see the light of day. With a nod of respect to my European colleagues, this content alone would, I believe, fall foul of at least a dozen laws, not the least of which prohibits shall we say..certain insignia and ideals that when displayed, attract a jail sentence. In both the US and I am certain a large part of the Oceanic region would also never allow the games sale with this content intact.Quote:
including full body tattoos. Due to the geopolitical turmoil in Valisthea at this time, some Bearers may have no brands at all due to having escaped testing at birth.
You want to sell a game that includes slavery. In the UNITED STATES??? A Bearer "who is property??? So one of your so called jobs is in fact a slave?? Man do you need help making your own MMO because thats an absolute non starter.
I.......dont think so Tim..
The game itself would be banned, then the trade licenses of said company that created it would then be on the chopping block. Reminder to OP who of course will never read this valid feedback, you dont have a "right" to sell your games overseas, you get to do so via trade licences and agreements that can be REVOKED at any time.
Your business will be shuttered, your staff fired, your premises closed and seized, your content and your wares banned forever. Violating the laws of a foreign nation can, and has, led to a company being told get out and stay out.
"LOL Vel is making up more lies"
No, Im not. Im an Aussie, and the powers the ACCC has are quite....harsh.
I have seen more than one company forcibly closed and its licenses to trade cancelled overnight. They walked in, announced the company was closed, sent everyone home, the company was then banned from ever trading in Australia again.
You dont want to be a blip on their radar. You dont want their undivided attention. Trust me. You dont.
Ask Valve what happened when they tried to circumvent our consumer laws. They didnt like how that ended.
Ask Blizzard what happened to them when they tried to refuse refunds for Warcraft:Reforged. That also didnt end well for them.
Lastly, Aveyond, I have to thank you for the delicious belly laugh..expecting players to work on a storyline with convoluted politics...when anything here over half a page is met with "too long didnt read" "wall of text" "I dont read essays."
Youd have better luck asking Montag to read Othello to Captain Beatty.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
You seem to have a lot of great "ideas", Aveyond, but as I have pointed out before...you really dont think things through.
Oh he's back. Well welcome back. Enjoy your stay. Sorry about the bullying last time I did and good luck with your fan fiction.
Valisthea is just dirt. There's no entertainment capital, no luscious fantasy environments. There's dirt and there's some palace interiors seen only in cutscenes. They tried really hard to make a non-FF game with no good cities to explore. So it wasn't just non-FF combat and no playable party, but also a commitment to building a world that doesn't beckon an extended visit. It's the land of dirt, bricks and fields of nothing.
